Jansport makes really good backpacks and the lifetime guarantee is awesome. I sent in my husbands backpack from high school a backpack about 11 years old ! I paid shipping to send it to jansport for repairs (6.00) and we requested for it to be repaired not replaced. Three weeks later it was sent back, looks amazing just like it looked in highschool my husband was so pleased. The torn up padded straps were replaced, the three broken zippers were changed and a corner rip was fixed too. Thanks Hip2save for posting about their warranty I would have never known and he would have thrown it away since it was on its last working zipper. He got to keep his fav backpack 😊

Awesome to hear he could keep his favorite backpack! You are SO welcome!

Any idea when the landsend bookbag sale with free monogram and shipping will happen? I have just been patiently waiting.

    • Pharmchick

Same here!! I have the pattern and size and matching lunch box all picked out in my cart just waiting to checkout! Lol

Does anyone know if this a good size for a kindergartener?

    • Lauren

If you’re worried about it being too big, don’t forget that kindergarteners have to lug a lot- lunch, snow pants, etc. Hth!

      • Bobbi

I never thought about kids having to put snow pants in their backpacks. If there is snow on the ground here, kids don’t go out to recess, and they don’t wear snow pants to school. It’s funny how different our experiences are in different parts of the country. 🙂

        • Lauren

          For sure!

    • Cbeths

I think this is the smallest ‘full size’ backpack Jansport makes. This is the size i have for my Kindergartener. He also used it for PreK.

  4. Pharmchick

I would buy this in a heartbeat if it had a bottle pocket on the side! Why don’t backpacks come standard with that!

  5. Betty-jo Maxwell

This is good for pre-k-4th grade. If you have a middle school child the Jansport® Big Student Backpack is awesome. It has a pouch on the side, two front zippers and two main compartment zippers, Zappos has the black and white paint splatter Jansport® Big Student Backpack on sale for $32 with free shipping.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the feedback!

    • Popa

      I agree!

  6. Kellie A Zollars

I agree with Betty-jo. This is a good size up until middle school. These are the strudiest backpacks we have had through 12 years of school. Both my high school kids love the Big Student backpacks. It’s the “popular” choice in our area. They hold up to being stuffed with lots of books and binders. Water pouch on the side has held up too.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear how well they have held up! Thanks for your review Kellie!
