Are these comparable to halo top?

    • Katrina

I think these are terrible compared to Halo Top. I purchased several flavors when they were on sale and had a coupon. I threw them away.

    • Heather C

      Not even CLOSE

    • Tina

      Good to know, thanks

This brand is awful. I bought it at Whole Foods for an extravagant price. Took one bite, yuck. Put it in the freezer hoping I’d change my mind because I paid so much for it… threw it out a month later. For anyone conflicted about this because it’s a good deal… read all the negative posts about the taste!

I agree that it is pretty awful compared to Halo Top. Instead of throwing it away, you can make a milk shake with it. You can make it dairy free by using almond milk or another dairy alternative. You can also add protein powder to it or a piece of fruit. Top it with whip cream and enjoy.

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews on this but I actually like it. Salted caramel is my favorite. You really need to follow their suggestion and let it thaw some first to prevent it from tasting icy. Letting it saw brings out the flavor and makes it creamy.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful feedback Jenn! Good to know!

THEse are gross ! Save your money !! I love the halo top ones

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Sorry to hear you did not care for them! Thanks for the honest review!

  4. Lilly

Yeah these are pretty gross…nothing like ice cream. Spring for the real thing! Treat yo self 😀

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Bummer!

  5. K

I also thought these were gross. Thanks for the deal Hip but I think I’ll pass on this one.

  6. Faith

    Yuck. I couldn’t eat these.

  7. Dana

    So nasty

  8. Lisa

I agree with the above comments. Took one bite and threw the rest away. They’re disgusting.

How much are the Halo Top at target? Thanks

    • Nicole

I think $4.99 at target. I think I saw them for $4.69 at walmart today. just keep an eye out for sales and then stock up. I’ve gotten Halo Top for as low as $3.99 a pint before

      • Cora

Thanks, Nicole! I picked up a $2 coupon by the parking lot at target. Can’t wait to try this!

  10. jessica

    Yeah, these are HORRIBLE .

  11. Frankie

I’m confused. Isn’t ice cream just milk/ cream, eggs, sugar and flavor like vanilla? What would be gluten? I realize flavors with add ins might have gluten…

    • Oatbunch

You’re right, generally ice cream is gluten free. I think it’s just a marketing ploy to hit another market of people. It seems that they can justify charging more for gluten free items.

  12. Cara

I like them. I’m lactose intolerant and having some gastrointestinal issues so yeah it’s not creamy and delicious like regular ice cream but it’s a nice treat for me

  13. Kathleen

    thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  14. Crystal

I did not like this brand (but I do not like Halo either). My favorite brand, similar to these, is “Enlightened”.

  15. Betty

I prefer Enlighten and Halo Top over this brand…

  16. sam

    Coupon no longer available

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Thanks for the heads up!

  17. Roxy

The best dairy free brand I tried is Nada Moo. The vanilla variety is actually better than any other vanilla ice-cream I’ve ever had. The chocolate one is delicious too. My husband pretty much refused to even try a dairy free icecream and now he’s addicted. Only 6 grams of sugar per serving! Sold at Whole Foods. A little pricey, but so delicious and kinda guilt free.
