Does anyone know if these are new or refurbished?

    • Anne

They are New!! I’ve just got one, also they have an IPhone SE for $149 instead of $199 so that’s a $50 savings too!! But I did get the 6 because my son would like the bigger screen size.

      • Debbie

Anne are you using this phone on a cellular plan or as a go phone

    • Mona

These are brand new i bought it today ajd verified with best buy they are new

  2. Bryant

Does anybody know if I could use my Verizon Wireless service with this? I really need to update my phone.

    • Mona

Its an Att phone so it may only work with att or Cricket but i know verizon phones Do work with ATT so theres a chance it can work

    • Sarah C

No, you’ll need to click on “see all prepaid phones” and then click on Verizon as your provider. I believe they have those iPhones for the same price.

  3. Sarah C

What does prepaid mean? Basically it’s just a discount and you don’t need to pay monthly for the phone? Is that all it means?

    • Laura

This refers to the service – not the phone. You would have to reload this phone in order to use it

      • Sarah C

Yikes! I definitely don’t want that. Thanks.

        • Jennifer

I do AT&T prepaid because I like to pay cash for phones and I love it. $40 a month for unlimited talk/text with six gigs high speed data, after that regular “slow” data.

          • Melissa

Wow! That’s a great deal. For two lines with Verizon that share 4gb of data we pay $115. Thanks for the info!

          • Bryant

Wow. I pay $40 for unlimited talk and text and only 4GB with Verizon Wireless, after regular slow data. AT&T is a better deal.

        • Winnie

I have had the prepaid phone plan for 4 years and love it. With auto refill, I pay $40+ tax and fee. Still less than a contract plan

If you’re buying the phone outright and there’s no commitment required the phone should be unlocked. It’s important to ask if the phones are unlocked and if not are you able to unlock it. I took my iPhone 6s from T-Mobile to Verizon, after I paid it off they gave me the unlock code.

From a review on their website:
Best Buy doesn’t sell new, but refurbished prepaid
I was surprised when I opened my package that the phone was not new. I brought it back to the store to exchange it, and the second one was just like it. The shrink wrap is loose, and the sticker is not authentic. The customer care worker said that all their prepaid iPhones are actually refurbished. I wish they had said that in their item description.

How long do you think this promo will last?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am not finding an end date listed. This sale appears to be available for a limited time.

A few weeks ago I bought a IPhone 6 32 gb new , with total wireless service for $199.00. I had a 10% birthday code which took care of $20 tax for me. Shipped free to home. Also total wireless plan I chose is $35 a month which includes unlimited text talk with 5 gb of data. If you purchase the total wireless card at Walmart its 6 gb, usually 5 gb. I’m pretty sure Total Wireless runs on the Verizon network.

    • hip2trade

The total wireless plan I chose is $35

    • Jim

Total wireless runs off of Verizon’s network. I have two lines for $65 a month and love it.

  8. Nikki

Does anyone know if I could buy this for the $199 and add it to my AT&T non prepaid account? I could use a new phone, but we have had regular account with AT&T for years and I don’t want to switch to a prepaid.

  9. Jen

Nikki , I just called Best Buy because I would like to do the same thing . They said no it only works as a pre paid . He seemed really clueless so if someone else gets a definitive answer please post

  10. Debbie

Nikki , jen YES YOU CAN, my son lost his phone and did not want to pay a fortune so this is exactly what i did.
GO TO AT&T store tell them exactly the phone your buying and tell them it’s an AT&T phone but you need to use it on your plan .you just want to make sure before you buy it
. They can do it !!

  11. Rhonda

Is this new or I can’t find if it’s not new on the page listing. Thanks!

    • Jennifer

      not new

  12. Rhonda

I believe if you already have ATT you can get this phone and move your sim card and it will work.
things get weird, if you’re not att and the phone is not unlocked to let any provider chip work in the phone.

Does anyone here use Total Wireless? I was wondering what the service was like.

  14. Winnie

I price matched it in target. I double checked my serial number on the iPhone SE. The warranty is good until aug 16, 2018. I believe the one I got from target is a brand new phone

    • Mary

Winnie, how did you price match to target? Did you go thru the Tgt mobile kiosk? Thanks!

      • Rhonda

Go to customer service counter after you buy, and they should give $ back I’m thinking. You have to show them the ad?

  15. Gigi

Has anyone done the prepaid phone on a non prepaid account recently? I only ask because I read that as of a few months ago AT&T changed their policy to make it where these phones had to be used on a prepaid account for 6 months before they’d unlock them. I’d love to give it a try since my son desperately needs a new phone. I’m afraid if I purchased it, and it didn’t work out, we’d be stuck with another paperweight.

I just bought two, picked them up at Bestbuy and went straight to the ATT store so they could be added to my family plan. It was very easy! 🤞

    It’s NEW!

I ordered last week but had to have it shipped but it came days before it said it would! It is indeed NEW and sealed. It does have a bold paper that says for use Pre-paid. I have post-paid sim phones lines. I tried my sim in the new phone and it works. Now, however it did cause my # to be hotlined or restricted so I had to call ATT. They had me email the RECEIPT to them and they unrestricted me and my new phone. So you just have to call ATT to have them let you use your post-paid SIM in the phone. You can call them before you put SIM in otherwise your line will go restricted after 15 minutes.

Good deal to price match at target, I could have saved the extra %5. As it is I used EBATES to get 1% back.
