What is Google Express?

Google Express helps you get your shopping done faster – you can shop a variety of popular stores including Costco and Whole Foods Market on the app, the Express website, or by voice on Google Home. You’ll score free delivery when you’ve met the per-store minimum which is typically $25-$35. Delivery ranges from same day to a three day window depending on your location.

    Interesting. I already do Walmart’s Store Pick-up

We don’t have Walmart’s same-day pick up (I wish!). But we are in the middle of nowhere and live Google Express even thought it often takes 4+ days to get to us!

Same for us. Google express takes 3-4 days. Not very beneficial for my family.

Have not heard of Google Express. Are they trying to compete with Amazon?

Never heard of this but I’m interested for the Costco connection. I moved to a new city and the closest one is about 15 miles away 🙁

Not real clear on what this is (in regards to Costco). Can someone explain it step by step? Old and confused here 👵🏼 Thanks 👍🏼

Google express allows you to order items from a Costco store with your membership that you cannot order via Costco website (nearly everything in store except freezer/fridge foods and fruits/veggies ). They will ship most non-perishable items for free with membership over $15 order (I think). If you don’t have a membership, they add a small up charge (15% I think). Groupon often has deals on your first order that is better than the 20% off – I think mine was $15 for a $40 Groupon. With my first and second orders, I received a 25% coupon for additional orders and a 25% off for a friend. Pair this coupon with Costco coupons/sales, you can get some great deals. In my opinion, Costco is the only store I find worth ordering from via google express… and Walmart too once it launches. I don’t plan on keeping the membership after the free trial since I have to go to the store for perishables anyway. If they add perishables I would keep the membership. I find Amazon prime to be a much better value for nearly the same cost. Hope this information helps.

So google express is like an online grocery mall. you do your shopping at one of the listed stores and you get free delivery for meeting the store minimum.

I checked a few things on Costco through Google Express and the prices are more expensive. I guess you have to pay for convenience.

They just jacked up all the costco prices a few days ago by 2-4 dollars per item it seems.

You are right, I just went to add some things to my order and the prices are much higher compared to the prices on my last order. Last week the prices were the same as in the store. I assume they will do the same when Walmart items get added. Disappointed with this change.

Sort of related… Safeway has an offer $20 off first delivery (Promo TWENTY). Their delivery minimum is $49 I believe… So combine that with their sales… I’m mainly getting roasts since they’re on sale. HUGE savings with the $20 off plus free delivery 🙂

Hmmm…wonder if I’ll be able to use that 20% off of some diapers

There was a deal with Costco several weeks ago. With the deal, it made it worth the effort but would not do routinely as we have a Costco nearby.

I have an American Express Offer for $20/$100 Walmart Grocery order … would this count as a Walmart order?

    • Tricia

If so it could be a 33% discount:
      $150
      -$30 (20% discount)
      -$20 (AMEX offer)
      =$100
