Calling all you tired parents!

If you lead a busy life and don’t have much time for grocery shopping, this post is for you! For a limited time, new Walmart Grocery customers can save $10 off your first online order of $50 or more with promo code MOMHACKS (expires 12/31/17) or WOWFRESH (expires 1/31/18) at checkout.

How does it work?

Walmart Grocery is a pick-up and delivery service available at select locations with no service fees or markups! Simply place your order online, choose a time slot and your order will be delivered directly to your car (some areas even have the option of home delivery)!

Here’s what you’ll need to do…

Head on over here and register to schedule your first Walmart Grocery order. Browse around and add $50+ worth of qualifying items to your cart including grocery products, pumpkins, Halloween candy, school lunch items, and more! Once you’ve added everything you want to your cart, head to checkout and choose your Walmart location and a day/time slot for pickup (you’ll have an hour window).

Be sure to add a debit or credit card payment to your account and use promo code MOMHACKS or WOWFRESH at checkout to save $10 on your first order of $50 or more and you’ll pay just $40 for $50 worth of items! About 15 minutes before your pickup time, you will receive a phone call and/or an email from Walmart letting you know that your order is ready for pickup.

Then, head to Walmart and follow the signs to park in the Grocery Pickup lot. Once you’ve arrived, call the number on the sign and let them know which parking slot you are in and within a few minutes, a Walmart delivery person will show up at your car with your groceries and even load them in the car for you! Just sign your name on the tablet to accept your order.

I’ve been using grocery pickup from Walmart for quite a while now. It has absolutely changed the way I shop! One thing that really helps is to allow substitutions on items whenever possible. If they are out of an item I order, they will substitute for another similar item. Often times the substitution is higher priced but they still charge the lower price of the originally ordered item.

It also helps to ensure that I am getting what I need and not going to have to make a shopping trip for my essentials if they are out of an item. I do this with items like bread and milk especially, they are pretty straightforward to substitute. I take a few of my big insulated shopping totes (like from 31) and a couple of sterilite square baskets (purchased from a great deal posted on Hip2Save), and carry all the groceries in with a single trip or 2. It has streamlined my whole grocery shopping process.

My usual items are saved as “favorites” and makes shopping so much easier! I add to my online “grocery cart” as I need items instead of making a grocery list now. Another tip, I placed an order the day before, our daughter became ill and ended up having an asthma attack that landed us in the ER and hospital for a few days. I wasn’t able to pick up our order on the day I was supposed to. I called Walmart and they were wonderful and very flexible, and arranged our pick up for the next day when I was able to have a relative pick up our order for us. They keep the orders refrigerated etc.

I often order so that my husband just has to swing by and pick up our grocery order on the way home from work. It has saved us hours of shopping time each week!

https://r.wmt.co/gzOO2 please consider using my link. You will still get $10 off. You may even be able to use the above code at a different time

My spouse and I host parties multiple times a year which usually requires beyond-the-norm grocery shopping. We have used Walmart’s Grocery service for two different trips now. It’s definitely a time-saver, and the process is really simple. Our local Walmart is less than 2 miles away. I’d definitely recommend if you’re in a similar situation.

Awesome to hear how convenient it has been for you! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Are online prices more expensive than instore?

    • Ashley

no and if you place an order and pick it up on a different day and on that day there is a price cut on that item… it’s adjusted on your order without you saying anything. Also you will get an email after you pick up your order that has the savings catcher number up in the right hand corner. The only thing that doesn’t work is using the ibotta app because you don’t get a printed out receipt. Please consider using my link https://r.wmt.co/gzOO2

I love using this service! fyi – they can’t accept tips, but they do get a monetary credit if they get good feedback on the survey.

I love this service! I try to use it after my Aldi’s trip. Saves so much time and money, no impulse buying. I ran errands one day with my boys, agree 1 and 6 at the time, had 4 stops, including Walmart. From the time we left to time we returned it was 30 minutes. I’m was awesome, my boys were happy since we didn’t have to do into the store!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks for the great feedback Kiwi!

Keep your eye for flyers in the mailbox. Several of them have had 10 dollar off codes that have worked for me (beyond the first time codes and referral codes.) I have had mostly good experiences with customer service. If they get a product wrong, call them, they almost always make it right.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up!

I love Wal-Mart Grocery pick up. It saves so much time for the essentials I can’t coupon for, or if my schedule prevents more from having any spare time. The substitutions are always better than what I may have ordered, in the instance they are out of stock for that item. I would be grateful if anyone wants use my referral link: https://r.wmt.co/gzTlz
    Thanks!!

I have a referral code for Ibotta if anyone is interested.

Really like this service, elderly parents can pick exactly what they want taking as long as they need and not feel a burden to their kids who pick up for them. Saves many phone calls and no impulse buying.

I ordered some tuna once & they gave me a different flavor. They credited my account & also let me keep the other tuna. It’s a great service when you have a hurt foot & shouldn’t be walking. Wish this was around when my kids were little. I do t use it all the time because I need receipts for Checkout 51 & Receipt Hog, however times that I’m way busy it’s come in handy. Now if they’d only start accepting coupons!

you can’t use the savings catcher or use any coupons on the walmart pickup. However, I imagine the fact that you won’t be getting anything you do not need you probably will be saving more in the long run and the time you save is priceless.

    • Ashley

You actually can still use savings catcher you just have to copy and paste the savings catcher number provided on the receipt they email you. I have been using this service for a long time and have had no issues still using savings catcher. I’ve also been able to still use ibotta.

Walmart Grocery is wonderful. My husband and I had a routine of shopping every other Saturday without kids, but it was never really quality time. Now we hit up a local diner for breakfast and just pick up our groceries after as opposed to shopping. We spend the money that we would have used impulse buying at the diner now. Lol They don’t accept coupons or gift cards, but I’ll take that trade off for convience any day. https://refer.walmart.com/welcome.html?utm_campaign=IOS&utm_content=personal_url&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=Friendbuy&fbuy_ref_code=gNKQN

I have used the service a few times and really like it. The only problem I have had is that they had a promotion if you refer someone the person referred gets 10.00 off of their first order and you are supposed to get 10.00 off of your next order for referring them. I never received anything for my 10.00 off.

Trying this for the first time today. Was doing Fred Meyer but after 5 pick-ups they charge $4.95.
I placed a decent order, with the $10 MOMHACKS code and then have about $20 coming in Ibotta.
    Fingers crossed it goes smoothly.

Used it yesterday for the first time — no problems! Here is my code for $10 off your first time if you need a code —
