I have one that my mom passed down to me, so it’s been in the family 10 years or more. It is fantastic! I use mine at least once a week. I prefer to make meals in large quantities then freeze the rest. The Food Saver does an excellent job keeping food fresh in the freezer. I also love the canning attachment, I’ll store dry foods in Mason Jars and use the Food Saver to keep it fresh. My only piece of advice is to purchase the name brand Food Saver bags or rolls, the generic ones don’t work well for me.
the food sealer you have from your mom is this exact model?- I know there are many models and would like to hear comments about this one that is on sale today I am wondering if this model works as well as the larger ones also does this model have a canning ttachment I have had severl food savers over the years and i am not familiar with a canning attachment thank you
The model I have is definitely an older model, but all the features are the same. The canning attachment is sold separately, I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond. You use the accessory hose that comes with the Food Saver and hook it up to the canning attachment. I love mine!
I have this exact one! I love it. My only issue w it is if something juicy is being sealed maybe there is a trick that idk about but I have started to “pre freeze” my stuff a bit befor sealing. I have he jar attachment w good intentions but haven’t used it other than to impress my kids w marshmallow magic
I have the model similar to this one but it is white instead of black. I love it! I have found on occasion that when I do liquid/extra moist foods, I will manually stop the vacuuming process when it looks like it’s almost done and hit the seal button. Then I’ll lay the sealed bagged flat in the freezer and the food item will spread out and there’s almost no space. There might be a small air bubble, but I figure most of the air is out and it’s tightly sealed.
You have to prefreeze liquids before you can vacuum seal.
I bought the refurbished a couple of weeks ago from one of you deals, hope it works as good as the new ones do.
I love mine. It’s totally worth the money. I think I paid around $60 for mine a couple of years back and that was a really good deal at the time, so I would jump on this one
