Want to make your home smell awesome on the cheap?

The next time you’re at your local Dollar Tree store, you may want to browse the candle aisle! Thanks to a reader tip, we spotted these $1 Volcanic Burst Scented Candles and from what we’ve heard, they smell very similar to Anthropologie’s MUCH more expensive Capri Blue Jar Candle in Volcano.

Note that product selection does vary from store to store so these may or may not be available at your local store.

Have you tried these Volcanic Burst Scented Candles from the Dollar Tree? What do you think? Stefanie, one of our awesome team members, purchased these and here is what she said about the scent…

It has a sweet almost fruity scent, but with a touch of musk. I have never smelled the Anthro ones to compare, but I definitely like the scent of these as it’s not overpowering. If the Anthropologie candles really smell your house up, I’m not very certain these would.

Wow! I never knew that even the candles are expensive at Anthropologie! I have gotten the Dollar Tree ones shown above. They are very small, so they only give a light scent/throw. I like them for décor or putting in my very small bathroom!

WooHoo! Thanks H2S Stefanie! I would never spend crazy $ on a Anthropologie candle – but this candle does have a lovely scent. Thank you for the great find!

I was gifted an Anthropologie candle once and LOVED it! Couldn’t justify spending the money on one so I can’t wait to run to Dollar tree tonight to see if ours has these!!!

A friend of mine received a Dollar store candle as a gift and after she used it, she noticed her walls had black soot on them. She had to wash her walls because of it. I’m not saying it was this candle, but now I am leery of using dollar store candles

I was afraid of this – but when I burned it I didn’t notice any black smoke coming from the wick – like I do with other candles

This can happen with any candle if you don’t keep the wicks trimmed. The wall behind and above my Yankee candle was black. I couldn’t scrub it off and had to repaint. I trim wicks and take my candles outside to blow them out.

I was watching The Doctors and they had a whole segment about the woman that blew out the candle and it burned her face badly. They highly recommended using a candle snuffer

Good idea. Aleays snuff candles. I work in air quality, and blowing soot around your house is not good for you.

I got 4 of them. The jars are cute too! I definitely think they smell similar!

Yay! That’s awesome to hear Tiff! Thanks for sharing!

I don’t blow out my candles.. I place the top/lid on it.. No more oxygen.. No more flame!

Just bought 2 and have both lit. Over an hour later I’m finally starting to smell them. Not very impressed
