Chemex coffeemaker is awesome. No doubt about it. However, their filter is super expensive. if you drink regularly, it adds up. 100 filters for $8-9.
Metal filter is hard to clean.
and other paper filter as a substitute? It won’t hold the weight of the water and drops in the pot.
Again, I have no complain about the coffee maker itself.
I agree, the filters can be expensive but they are heavy-duty compared to regular filters, (there’s no substitute!). We purchase our filters from World Market when they are on sale or can use a coupon and I can usually get them for around half price.
Would love to get this, just wish there was free shipping.
Best coffee ever! My husband dumps the grounds out of the filter and when it is completely dried out, he uses a stiff brush to brush off the grounds. Then we reuse it, simply using the other side ( that didn’t have grounds in it), so we get two uses per filter.
