ToysRUs is price matching for the holidays!

ToysRUs recently relaunched their new Price Match Promise! If you find an item in store at ToysRUs or BabiesRUs that is currently available for less elsewhere, you can match it to the lowest advertised price AND every time you price match in-store, they’ll donate $1 to Toys for Tots – up to $1 million!

ToysRUs will price match the following competitors and their websites: Amazon, Baby Depot, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, buybuy BABY, diapers.com, Fred Meyer, GameStop, Hobby Lobby, JCPenney, Kmart, Kohl’s, LEGO, Macy’s, Meijer, Michael’s, Sears, Target, Walmart and YoYo.com.

A few things to keep in mind…
  • Price match is for in-store purchases only.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the items advertised–same brand, same size, same style and function – although variances in color will be accepted.
  • The original, complete competitor ad, with valid dates, must be presented at time of purchase.
  • Advertisements presented via smartphone must be displayed on the competitor’s website or app. Online prices must be verifiable via the competitor’s website.
  • A price match may be granted at the time of purchase or within 14 days of purchase date with a valid receipt.
  • When 2 or more of the same item are purchased, price match will be limited to 2 of those items.
  • When shopping with a coupon, ToysRUs will apply the matched price OR the coupon–whichever provides the better discount.

They will NOT price match the following…
  • Competitors’ “Buy One Get One” (BOGO) offers
  • Competitors’ “Gift with Purchase” (GWP) offers
  • Out-of-stock or limited quantity items
  • A competitor’s price that is a result of a promotion requiring a minimum purchase amount (ex.: Save $10 when you spend $50), or that has other conditions, such as storewide or category-wide coupons
  • Advertisements and websites with typographical pricing errors
  • Any competitor’s advertised store or online pricing for Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday
  • Competitors’ online pricing that is limited to one day or less (ex.: doorbuster items, one-day deal, 6-hour sale, evening sale)
  • Subscriptions, Services or Marketplace products (ex.: pricing from a 3rd party selling products via a competitor’s site)
  • Clearance, closeout, damaged product, used, refurbished, open packages or liquidation sales

This is great for Christmas shopping that is just around the corner.

Anyone have any luck finding fingerlings? Our local toysrus store holds them for a reseller so we can not even buy one. Ugh

    • kiwigrl21

I found a couple at a Walmart here in Columbus, OH yesterday (at the tip of the Toys R’ Us worker who saw them there the previous night).

    • Leslie

I was able to get 3 from Best Buy, you just have to check daily & at odd hrs. I happened to have a sleepless night 2 weeks ago, I decided to do some web surfing & they had them, so I snagged 3, even Bella which seems to be one of the hardest to find.

Toys r us.com has the Zoe fingerling monkey in stock right now for $14.99

    • CherryBlossom

That’s so frustrating. How is it even allowed for a store to knowingly hold all stock of a popular toy for a reseller? I would complain to TRU headquarters if I were you!

      • Sarah

I saw them at our kohls store

      • Lauren

Yeah- I’d call corporate on that one- they should definitely NOT be doing that and I’d bet that person will be gone ASAP- that’s uncalled for- another note I’ve gotten two at my local Kohls and they’re just randomly lying in different spots so look all over

This would be great if they kept merchandise in stock. Never fails, can never find what I need.

Any idea how much is the Journeygirls’ costs?

    • Heather

I purchased the Journey Girls set in July or August for around $20. My daughter love them but I am not trilled with the quality. They are the plastic to their chest, the legs always feel like they are going to pop out and they’re butt is completely flat so normally 18 inch doll clothes won’t fit them. I personally like the MyGeneration dolls from Target better.

Good to know with thr holidays coming up!

Great news, few gift cards piled up, did not buy anything with the high prices at these stores. I think its time to clear up those gift cards as these stores filed for bankruptcy recently.

I took advantage of this already and put everything on layaway. It makes it so much easier

Check brickseek.com daily. You can search both Target and Walmart’s inventories there. Our local Walmart stores here in NE Florida just got a large shipment of pink ones in the last 3 days and still have them on the shelves as of today.

    • Melanie

      ⬆️**** FOR FINGERLINGS MONKEYS***

    • Linda

Yesterday brickseek showed Walmart by me had 5 purple ones I rushed out and could not find them on the shelf. I asked an employee and he couldn’t help me either. All my years of using brickseek it never has been wrong, I have a feeling they were hiding them in the back or something. Frustrating!

      • Joyce

I found 4 pink ones at my walmart tonight…I was looking on the computer and I looked on walmarts website and it showed that the pink one was available for pick up tonight at a different walmart in my area. It said the other colors were not available. When I put in my mom’s zipcode as she is in another state none were available. You might want to check that way before you rush out to walmart, buy them for pick up the same night. Someone else may have seen them and grabbed them before you got there.

    • Leslie

      What’s the dcpi? number?

      • Melanie

You can search for the DCPI number if you are looking at Targets inventory. There will be a box above that says “need help finding a dcpi? Search here” The same box is there if you are searching Walmart’s inventory as Walmart uses SKU numbers and they are all very different numbers unlike Targets which are only off by a number or 2.

        • Melanie

Target DCPI for Blue with orange hair: 086-08-1205

  10. Melissa

We always price match for layaway and when we pick up the layaway too.. toys r Us is where we haveto do our layaway since it’s such a crappy selection of toys at our targets and Walmarts

  11. Catt

We have the hardest time at our TRU with price match. They don’t seem to understand their own rules and even when you present them they say no. We tried to get a price match from Amazon and the manager kept insisting we were trying to price match an Amazon Marketplace-sold item but it was very clearly sold and fulfilled by Amazon. It was beyond frustrating.

BTW, check Kohl’s and Gamestop for Fingerlings. I saw Fingerlings at Kohl’s last week. My mom happened to find some about 2 weeks ago at my local Target.

  12. Leslie

Sweet! My Wal-Mart won’t even price match their own website anymore. Hope TRU is good about it.

  13. Leslie

Anyone know where to find the Pikmi Pops, looking for Jumbo or small one. Frustrating that these 3rd parties get them & mark up prices 4-5 times the original cost. I’m in NC, thx.

    • Dama

They have them up at the return counter at my toysrus

  14. DeanOCD

Did they ever stop? Or are they just re-promoting it? Seems like I’ve price matched there forever. There regular prices ARE high but the one-stop shopping and being able to get most things in one place has had me go and price match an entire cart of stuff before. I price matched 2 of those dancing Barbie horse things a while back. They’ve never given me any issues at our store.
