Change things up at dinnertime!

For a limited time, hop over to HomeChef.com where new customers can score a whopping 55% off your first order when you use promo code FALL55 at checkout (maximum discount $40).

Home Chef offers chef-prepared recipes with all the fresh ingredients and step-by-step instructions delivered to your door each week (or the door of a loved one!). You’ll receive everything from the protein and veggies right down to details like walnuts, parsley, and tahini-lemon dressing!

How does it work?

Home Chef carefully packages all of the fresh ingredients into insulated liners & cold packs so they’ll remain cold & fresh until you unpack it at home. Once your box arrives, just transfer the contents of the box to the refrigerator and your ingredients will remain fresh for the week!

You’ll even have the chance to note your Dietary and Delivery Preferences (including gluten-free, low carb, and vegetarian meals to name a few), how many meals you’d like to cook each week (choose between 2-6 meals) and how many people you’re cooking for (choose between 2-5 people).

What’s the catch?

When you use the code FALL55 to try Home Chef, you’ll be automatically signed up for weekly meal delivery. Each Friday, Home Chef will create an order for you unless you have either requested a skip or canceled your account. Skips and edits must be received by Friday at Noon prior to the scheduled delivery day.

There is NO commitment, NO Contract and your membership can be cancelled any time.

Keep in mind that delivery is an additional $10 or is free with orders of $45 or more.

Here’s what Hip2Save readers have to say about Home Chef

My husband and I have been getting meals from Home Chef for a couple of months now. We are pretty good cooks and were hesitant to try a meal delivery service. After some research I decided that Home Chef was best as they offered low carb/cal. We are so pleased and happy with HC. The meat has been top quality and everything very fresh. The green beans that came with our last meal looked like they were picked right before they were packaged. I highly recommend Home Chef!

We’ve tried Hello Fresh, Home Chef and Plated. Home Chef is BY FAR the best. The flavors aren’t too crazy but still allow us to explore things we’ve never tried before. Plus 2 meals feeds all 4 of us (me, hubs & kids 7 & 9).

This is totally worth it for the cuts of meat and no wastefulness. I’m just an okay cook so I usually shy away from meats like steak, pork, and fish because I often do it wrong and it’s barely edible. Or I don’t know what cut or type to buy. I have found the meat they include to be very fresh and with just the right amount of fat, marbling, etc. – so I don’t have to worry. They tell me exactly how to cook it, so I am preparing, what feels to me, gourmet stuff!

Can this code be used for existing customers or is this for first time users only?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Carrie! This offer is for New Customers. Hope that helps!

  2. Tawni

Home Chef was good, it was a pleasant experience and the food was good. I tried it for 2 weeks, but I switched back to Hello Fresh after trying Home Chef, I just preferred their recipes and thought the food and ingredients were a lot fresher.
If anyone is interested in trying Hello Fresh, sign up using my link and you will get $40 off your first box. Thanks in advance!!

Hi Amber & Tawni, how hard is it to cancel your subscription with Home Chef and Hello Fresh if they don’t work out?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Alma! For Home Chef, here are the steps they list to cancel – “Simply log in, click My Account in the upper right corner of your dashboard, and click on the Account Information tab. The option to pause your account will be under the Delivery Details section.” Hope that helps!

  4. Tawni

It is very simple to cancel your subscription, just sign into your account and once in your dashboard you have option to pause your account.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the helpful feedback Tawni!

We LOVE Home Chef! We’ve tried every other delivery meal service and while they have some extravagant selections, my kids won’t eat what the other companies send. I have been able to pick 3 meals from Home Chef that my picky kids will eat every single week. Tonight we are having Steak

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

How cool! Glad to hear they have liked Home Chef meals! Thanks for the awesome review!

  6. Amy

When I click on home chef it takes me to something else, not the home chef website

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

How odd, I still find the links to work for me. Are you by chance using a mobile device? Sometimes that can create issues. If not, maybe check again in a different browser. Hoping that helps!

Home Chef is the easiest. It’s my favorite the app is easy to move around in and after trying like 10 of meal services this is my favorite by far. I love the variety that you get with them.

  8. AGoodall

I made those steak tacos last week! To die for!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Glad to hear how yummy they were! Thanks for sharing!

So am i reading the FAQs correctly on their website…a meal is 9.95 per serving so a family of four is about $40 per meal?

    • Anne K.

Yes so if you got three meals it would be $120. I get the two serving and it is 60 for three meals. I get an extra serving out of each cuz we don’t eat that much. There’s three people in their family. And if I need more I just add an extra piece of meat or usually I have that item on hand

i have wanted to try one of these fresh meal delivery services. so many out there anyone have any suggestions.

    • Tina

We use blue apron and like it. Due to cost and sometimes strange meal offerings- we use it once a month. It’s a nice break from our usual and doesn’t break the budget either. Very good quality too!

  11. Sarah

I tried Home Chef and really liked it. There’s a nice variety of recipes, they offer gluten-free options, and the portions are the perfect size. The produce items in my box were of excellent quality, just as if I’d picked out each pepper, onion, shallot, etc. myself. Since I moved to a tiny town almost 2 hrs away from the high end grocery stores I used to frequent in the large city I moved from, Home Chef still allows me to cook the type of fresh food my family enjoys, without the hassle of a long round trip to the grocery store.

  12. Sara

I really like Home Chef, the recipes are easy, the cleanup is a breeze; the food is usually delicious. And the portions are good sized. It is more expensive than going to the grocery store; but it’s very convenient.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks so much for your review Sara! Glad to hear their recipes were yummy easy to make!

I just signed up for the first time, to try it out. I was not able to enter the promo code anywhere. I did get $30 off first order, but it didn’t even give me the option of entering the promo code. I’m not keeping the subscription anyway but have always wanted to try it.

    • Tawni

If you like Home Chef, check out Hello Fresh! I have tried both, but prefer Hello Fresh. Try it out and order your first box using my personal link for $40 off!
