Is this better than the instant pot, quality wise???
I’m wanting to buy a pressure cooker, but I would like to get the best deal with cost and quality!

  2. Kate

I have this and it’s pretty much the same. I love it. I have it for years before the IP became popular.

      Thanks for sharing Kate!

I had this pressure cooker…it’s the worst! Used it a couple times and it stopped working…spoke with cuisinart customer care and they sent a new lid and seal. It still wouldn’t hold pressure. They acknowledged that the pressure cooker was likely bad but if I wanted it fixed I had to pay to ship it back to them. I bought the instant pot and it is a dream!! 🙂

I got this about 5 years ago and it works amazing. This machine is the original instapot before instapot became popular. It does just about everything the instapot does. Only difference is this machine has a non stick pot insert and the instapot isn’t non stick. Haven’t had any problems with it. Dinner in minutes!

Thanks, and glad to hear how much you like it!

I’d pay a little more and get the authentic Instant Post. I got mine a few weeks back for $62 with $10 kc back. Best purchase ever!

Hey ladies any thoughts on the size…6qt will do?

    • tracy

I have a 6 qt and wish I had gotten the 8 or 10 because I like to have leftovers. My 6 qt will cook a 7 lb turkey breast but it is maxed out. For a family of 4 or more or if you do batch cooking , go with 8 qt or more. If in doubt, go bigger.

I’ve had this pot for about 5 years, and I love it. It’s simple, o the point and easy to clean. It comes to pressure about a minute faster than the IP, and also slow releases a little quicker. It has a nice learning curve. I use it just as much as my IP that my hubby bought me. I only got that because this one was always tied up (I pressure cook dinner 4-5 times a week). I can say you won’t be disappointed.

Had this for years too. The first time I used it with a bone in Turkey breast the non stick coating scratched off in places. I called and they sent me a replacement insert at no charge “since there was no way that should have happened” according to them. The replacement one has been used a lot and it hasn’t scratched yet. I.too, find it to be faster to come to pressure than the instant pot. I only bought the instant pot for the stainless steel insert- figuring the non stick was going to scratch eventually. I think my seal may be bad too. It is. A lot less ridged than the instant Pot seal.

Used code HOME10 and it took off another $10 so I added some wax melts to get the $10 kohl cash and plus the $5 for picking up so paid $54 and change after tax plus I got the wax melts!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up Rosa!

I stand by the instant pot which is like a crock pot on steroids!

    • Daisy_Libran

      hahhaa! love that description!

does anyone know if I can take my receipts or order numbers into the store from my purchases on Friday and have them combine my orders for kohls cash? I spent 91.70

I have this and it’s meh….. I will get the instapot when mine is dead, dead. It will not cook my chili or thicker soups. The actual pot insertion became mis shaped after letting it air dry over night in my sink…. now I have to have it just right or the lid won’t go on. I can still “make it work” so I haven’t upgraded.

I’ve had this exact pot for 2 going on 3 years. I love it. I literally use it every day. I’ve never had a problem with it. I hand wash the lid and lid inserts. I really like the non stick pot, but I never use abrasive utensils so it won’t chip. I’ve used my moms instapot and I prefer this over it personally because I like to set the time for how I like my items, not the preset times like the instapot has. This comes with a manual that gives approximate times for vegetables, beans, meats, etc. You learn quickly what time works for each item.

The Cuisinart pressure cooker has been around for a lot longer than instant pot. It is such a great and solid brand. I am on my second one only because my husband dropped our first. I have been using this appliance for many years and I am totally loyal. It is one of my 2 most favorite appliances in my kitchen, Vitamix being the other. We use it several days a week. I have since bought an instant pot to try because they are gaining popularity and I could always use another pot when we have our family all home but I haven’t tried it yet. You won’t be disappointed with Cuisinart if you buy it.

OT: does anyone own the Instant pot Ultra and can let me know if it’s worth the money. I don’t have an instant pot but would like to get one and the ultra looks pretty good. I have a friend that works at kohls that said she can get it for me and it will be about 50% off with the employee discount so making it about $80. I just want to know if it’s worth it. Thanks for any input. 🌺
