This is so scary to me. Shopping there is sketching let alone leaving your children there. Pass.

    • Andrea

I don’t think your suppose to leave your kids there. I believe it is for the parents to go to.

    • Allison 💙

I thought the EXACT same thing because that’s what a parents’ night out is where I’m from! But it’s a kid-free night to shop—no dropping off the kids. Who knew?!

  2. Viviana

Curious if anyone has ever participated in one of these events? It says it’s sponsored by Care.com so I wonder if they are hiring someone for child care?

    • jax

No, they wont provide child care.

    • Melanie

I️ received an email for this event and inside my email was a promo code for 50% off at care.com.

  3. Jenn

This sounds like it’s for grown ups only. You leave your kids home kinda thing.

  4. Melissa

This is just for the parents, you don’t leave your kids there, just to clarify!

    • Melissa

Sorry, I just saw the other comments or I wouldn’t have posted it again!

  5. Nicole

I think if I get a night out, it’s definitely not to hang out at Toys R Us! 😀

    • Monica

I was thinking the same 😂😂

    • Sara

Yes! Exactly what I thought too!

    • Alli

      Right! 😆

    • hrosana

      lol

    • Mellie

      Agreed

  6. Lauren

Wonder if the toy raffles are any good- and if they are free as well

  7. arianneg

the LAST place I’m going to go, when I have no kids, is Toys R Us. Target maybe. Toys R Us? HECK NO.

    • Stacy

      Lol RIGHT!

  8. Chantel

This makes no sense to me. Who needs a special night just for parents? If they had a special section like Ikea where you could check the kids in then go shop that would be great. But I have to find someone to watch my kids so I can go hang out at a toy store? Pretty bizarre. Seems who ever came up with this idea has never been an active parent. Probably some rich old guy who always had a nanny and assistant to buy his kids gifts.

    • JENNA

LOL, I know I’m a little late to this conversation but I thought I’d way in as I’m going to the second event in my town tomorrow night…. I don’t see this as bizarre whatsoever. Obviously, when the hubby and I go toy shopping, we leave the kids home. Especially santa clause shopping !! What a great opportunity to score that hard to find toy or even win some freebies! Hot chocolate while shopping? bring it on!

    I think this is cool.

  10. KelBen

I️ think this is a neat idea

I’d rather wait for Hip2Save to post the best deals and have everything delivered. I have been spoiled!

The comment section on every post is always full of negativity and complaints now. It’s ridiculous. You people must be miserable. I really don’t believe they think parents are going to use this as an opportunity for a date night. The whole point is to let parents check out the “hot toys” this year to see if they are worth the price. Will I attend? No, because my kids aren’t asking for toys this year. I do think it’s a great opportunity for those who want to be sure they are spending their hard earned money on something that isn’t junk.

    • Sara

Amy – I don’t think any of the other comments are negative; they are just talking. Your comment is rude and ridiculous. Just because others think and say things differently from what you think does not make it wrong or negative. In my opinion you are in need of a night out with some adults.

      • Amy

        People sure are sensitive 😂

    • Jeannie

I think Amy is referring to the negative comments/bickering on many of the posts — not just this one. I happen to agree with her. I love Hip2save. No one owes you anything – not the stores, websites, freebies, etc. If you don’t like the post/sale/freebie – move on. No need to criticize, ridicule, etc. I’m sure I’m going to get blasted for this post. I think the negative comments shouldn’t even be allowed.

  13. Raedev

    I just wish I had a toys r us near me. I love freebies!!😍

  14. Amie

I went tonight. They had a hot cocoa bar and cookies set up, which was nice. But the only thing close to a raffle was if you spent $50, you got entered in a raffle for Rockettes tickets. That’s it. Meh.

    • Ann

Thanks for the report! I was trying to decide if this was worth my time, and thought I’d wait till people said how the first one went to decide whether to go to the second one. You’re the first comment I’ve seen so far (not just on this site) about what actually happened there.

      • Ann

Oh, but then I see the next person at least had one drawing at their store for an actual toy, though not one on my list. I guess it varies some by location.

  15. Red

I went and checked it out and won the twins Hatchimal Surprise! Thanks Hip2save!

    • Lauren

Wow that’s awesome- I should’ve gone to ours

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Woohoo! Congrats! You are SO welcome!

  16. Tonya

I went and wasn’t impressed actually disappointed. The ad says 8pm-10pm I didn’t go early because I was getting my kids dinner and ready for bed on a school night. I got there and they had done the raffle at 8:30pm. The reason was because not many people showed up. So I don’t think it was fair that because I didn’t get there at 8:00 to be excluded for the raffle. They should have done the raffle at the end and if the guest had left contact them that they won. The only upside was being able to check out some of the new toys but the one that I was interested in that they were supposed to demo they were out of stock of. It was nice to go to a not crowded store, but that was my only plus side of the experience.

  17. Jazzy J

I went tonight and won the baby alive stroller! There were maybe five people tops with at least ten prizes to win. I probably could’ve won again if I stayed. I was happy with what I got because I was expecting a crowd. Will go next year.
