Stay Warm with These Deals! ❄️

Through November 20th, REI (both in-store and online) is having a Gear Up Get Out Sale where you can save 30% or MORE off select sale items. No promo code is needed, the prices listed reflect the discount.

If you’re in need of high quality winter boots, you can score a great deal on these Sorel Tivoli II Women’s Snow Boots. They are on sale for only $99.99 shipped – regularly $130!

These Sorel boots are waterproof, lined with super comfy fleece and they’re insulated! Even better, these aren’t bulky like a lot of snow boots, making them perfect to wear with all sorts of fun outfits.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Sorel boots due seem to run on the small size, so I would suggest sizing up… especially if you’re planning to wear thick socks with them. I’m wearing a size 9 and normally wear an 8/12.

Need a new winter jacket?

You can also grab this VERY highly rated REI Co-op Magma 850 Down Jacket (4 color options) for only $129.99 shipped – regularly $189! This jacket is cozy and light-weight, and can be rolled up and packed inside its own left-hand pocket for storage! Love that!

NOTE FROM COLLIN: REI was nice enough to send me a pair of these Sorel boots and the REI down jacket in hopes that I would love these items and post about them on Hip2Save. Well, I do 😍 and that’s why I am giving you all a heads up on the current sales available.

Keep in mind, REI Members can score an extra 20% off one REI Garage Item and 20% off one full-priced item when you use promo code GEARUP20 at checkout, valid through November 20th! Did you get these for free to review? Or did you buy these and now they happen to be on sale?

    • Brittany

Good question. I wonder that too…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Sophie!

They did send me a couple of their new sale items to check out. I honestly am super impressed with the boots and the jacket. 😀 I personally love having a few higher-end items in my closet in addition to my Target and TJMaxx clothing and shoes.

      • A

Thanks for your honesty, I appreciate it. I wonder if there could be a bit more transparency about this sort of thing going forward? Thanks for all you and your team do!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the feedback. We do have a disclosure policy at the top of every post under the title. Companies often send me products to test out so that I can truly access whether I feel it’s a good quality product. With that said, to be super honest, I end up posting less than 50% of the stuff that’s being sent to me due to not being pleased with the quality. We really strive to only post the best deals on Hip2Save, but also really care about the quality and try to steer away as much as possible from posting items just because they are cheap IF they seem like junk.

          • A

I see the disclosure policy under the ‘more’ button on the app, but certainly not on every post. Or any post. Perhaps because I’m using the app and not the website? I would just appreciate a simple heads up, like ‘REI (or whomever) sent me these great boots to try out and bonus – they are on sale – awesome!’, you know? I seem to recall you mentioning once that you went to high school with the owner of one of the shops you promote, and I really appreciated the transparency. Just my .02.

            • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I really value the feedback and will definitely keep this in mind for posts going forward. I am going to also update this post to state about REI sending me these items. Transparency is very important to me.

          • MS

I thought disclosure policy was to reflect every time a company sends you freebies or compensates you for the promotion? Not just a blanket generic disclaimer stating they might have compensated you for your post. Other bloggers are much clearer and state upfront the company sent them the item or sponsored the post in some form. I agree this kind of transparency is important for keeping trust. For example, this post makes it seem like you found this great deal etc but really they sent you these boots. So you did not actually pay for them right? Thanks.

            • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the feedback. As I stated in the comment above, I value your thoughts and will be updating this post. I appreciate you taking the time to give constructive feedback and will definitely keep this in mind for future posts.

            • MS

Thanks for making a clear and visible update on the post. I hope you continue this with EVERY post where you receive compensation from a company (tangible or intangible). It is my understanding this is the law, yes? No more generic blanket “maybe I got compensation.” I really appreciate the deals you post for us. Adding this level of visible transparency will only make people trust your site above others more.

            • Rachel

I too appreciate that you have added the clear disclosure at the end of the post. Sometimes it is rather obvious when you have been compensated in some way for the items you are promoting, and disappointing to not see it disclosed on the post. I have felt myself shying away from the site lately, and I know that I will feel more confident now knowing that compensated/sponsored posts will be identified.

As for Sorels, I have a pair of the Joan of Arc boots and they run huge. I am close to a 8.5 or 9, and I have an 8 with room to space. So perhaps it varies by model. I love them and actually can’t wait for some snow and extreme cold so I can start wearing them 🙂

    • MS

Thank you for asking this question.

  2. Kat

Are they pretty true to size Colin??

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, the boots and jacket both fit true to size I think. The Sorel boots I got are an 8/12, which is my typical size and they are roomy enough for a nice thick pair of socks. Hope that helps!

      • ET

You didn’t find them to run small? Many of the reviews said they ran small and to size up.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

UGH! I was totally wrong! So sorry. I just went and looked in my closet at the size of the boots again AND they are actually a size 9. So sorry about that. I am going to update the post now about the sizing, but I would suggest sizing up… especially to make room for thick socks.

  3. Kelli

That’s not really a good deal…it seems more like an ad for REI?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Kelli,
These are definitely higher priced deals for sure, but that’s due to the brands and the quality. Sorel boots, shoes, slippers etc tend to be on the expensive side but they last SO long. In fact, I have a pair of Sorel slippers that I still wear almost daily that have lasted for a couple of years now. I really LOVE this brand. In addition, I agree that the jacket is also expensive even with the discount… but it’s higher in price due to the quality and having goose down insulation. Similar jackets go for $200+. We post a variety of deals with much lower priced boots etc. so I totally understand not being interested in this one due to the prices still being high.

      • BlueHarvest

I agree 100% with the price reflecting the value of Sorel. The Sorel brand is very high quality that will last many years. Items do not have to be cheaply priced to be considered a good value. I appreciate these posts that list high quality items at a discounted price. Thanks Collin!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          You’re welcome! 😀

  4. Deb

My Sorel boots have lasted me 20 years and I live in a city that gets about 80 inches of snow per year. They are a bargain when you figure out their longevity!

    • Holls

I have had mine for 8 years. If you spend time outdoors where it is actually cold and snowy you will appreciate good quality boots. Mine are so warm and waterproof.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Wow! Great to hear how well your boots have held up over the years Deb! Thanks for the great feedback!

  5. Niki

My sorel kept me extremely cozy through a harsh but amazing winter vacation in Iceland. Extremely comfortable as well ! Highly recommend these and definitely size up if you like thick socks.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing Niki! Good to know how warm and comfy they are!

  6. Jessica

Check out Sorel boots on Amazon – I posted in the Hip2Share a while back about getting a pair Sorel winter boots for $47, and another pair for my daughter for $56. I thought that was a steal for this brand. But of course, Amazon prices change often.

  7. Marina Shems

Hi! Due to this post, I went to my nearest REI and spent $100 today. Lol I wanted to chime in on the sizing. Like Collin, I ended up with my regular shoe size. I am a 9.5 womens and that’s what I got with lots of space to wiggle my toes around. I was also wearing a thicker part wool like sock that I got at costco in past years. I have had my eye on Ugg boots but am not in love with them and don’t like how they put real animal fur in their shoes. Like the Faux involved in this boot. These are very nice and great quality. Glad to finally own a pair. $30 off is actually a lot of savings for a good quality boot.

Yay! Happy to hear you were able to score a pair! 😃 And thanks so much for the helpful feedback.
