What’s difference between all these models? Which type is the best one , in terms of convenience, easy cleaning etc? Thanks

there really are so many models and types and specs. just google comparisons and find what’s best for you! 🙂 there are the classics(head tilt), artisians(tilt head) & pro models(bowl lift); different colors and quarts/sizes, glass bowl vs metal bowl, handle or not, wattage, attachments (plastic coated or metal – dishwasher safe or not), etc. i just decided to go with the deal costco had (ended yesterday) on their 6qt Pro 610 model (a little bit better than kohl’s 6qt) – it was just $249 out the door. kohl’s had a slightly lower price last year after BF, but i missed my 1 day chance. i’ll look for that chance again this year, and if it happens, i’ll take costcos back. if not, i got the best deal this year. HTH 🙂

Aw man, I was planning on grabbing the Costco one for my hubby but looks like I waited just a day too late.

So, I have the Artisan, which is this particular model. I like this one because it has the splash shield with pouring shield to help minimize mess, the nice lightweight and easy to clean bowl (comparatively to the Artisan with glass bowl),coated beaters for easy cleanup, and is powerful enough for my baking jobs. The only thing I haven’t used it for is for making bread dough so I can’t speak for that. I love the tilt head feature for ease of adding and removing the bowl too. That was probably the single-most important feature for me because I like to switch bowls often when I am baking. My friend has the 4.5 quart model (different than Artisan) and she has mentions that her bowl seems to small for some recipes. I am super happy with the 5 quart because it works for my family size and recipe use. The Artisan also fits nicely on my counter (it is not too tall) so I can leave it on my counter for convenience…and it is not too heavy to move if I need to move it. So I would definitely consider family size, what type of recipes you make most often, if you are leaving it out on the counter or moving it to store it each time, how important easy-clean accessories are, if you use it every day vs a few times a week, and if a tilt head is important. I am super happy with my Artisan, and my favorite art is that it is pink! (I waited 20 years to get this mixer, and have no regrets at all! As a side note, I would also recommend additionally purchasing the flex edge beater attachment if you make a lot of cakes, since it has a built-in bowl scraper (which has helped me anyways) with mixing batters. Not a need, but definitely makes life easier when you are baking! Hope this helps you! Good luck! 🙂

I’ve been using my KitchenAid mixer (in Avocado Green) since 1971. Still works fine, and it has gotten a LOT of use. These things are real workhorses.

  9. Debbie

How do I get the rebate? I can open it but no way to print it. I just ordered it from Kohl’s and it’s ready for pickup. So excited!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! When clicking through the rebate link, be sure to head over to the top right corner and you will find a printer icon appear. Click there to print! Hope that helps!

I got this deal yesterday then later got an email from Kohl’s saying my order had been cancelled due to the item selling out. I am so upset. It was a gift for someone and I’d told them I was able to get it!😕
