Is this better than google maps?

  2. Gmajani

I’m wondering the same thing. My hubby travels daily to different houses and it needs to be quick and accurate. Any comments about this app is greatly appreciated!

Try the app Waze It is really good. Gets you right to where you want to go. Lets you know about accidents and lane closings. I use it every day going downtown. It is free. Give it a try.

Thank you. I’ve been looking for a map app. I’ve been using google maps and I think it’s pretty accurate; however, it doesn’t give me traffic information. I’ll be giving this app a try.

Would WAZE warn us of accidents if we used it on an east coast trip or only if you put a city name in it?

      • Daniela

Waze warns of accidents, potholes, cops, hidden cops, construction, and you can get alternate routes pretty quickly. Plus you can link your Spotify account and it plays your music right through Waze. I love it. It is just like google maps or Scout but managed by drivers.

I second Suzie. Love, Love, Love Waze. Itโ€™s the only app I use for directions, traffic, delays etc.

Waze is amazing! I love the feature to give you the current speed limit, alert you to cops and inform you of items on the road. On Thanksgiving Eve, I avoided running over a square bale of hay in the dark on an unlit road thanks to the Waze app. Two other cars weren’t so lucky. I also love that it reroutes you as accidents occur up ahead on your route without any intervention from you.

we like it for traveling outside of the country. You can download all the maps before you go and not have to use cellular service.

      Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!

    • CJ

You can do this with google maps also.

Free for my iPhone, but the android pro version is $5.99. This is a travel planning app, not an alternative to waze or Google maps. Thanks for the heads up for the iPhone app being free

Waze all the way. My husband is a Fedex driver and swears by it. Once it also saved us from what could have been a nasty accident. We were traveling at night on the higway and someone had marked that there was something in the road. My husband slowed down and started looking…and just in time. There was a mattress in the middle of the highway.

So it’s a free download, but will there be a cost later? Like a trial period?

    • Sue L

Wondering that also. Also do you need to be connected or can you download the map before going to places that have no wifi?

      • arnold s
