Don’t forget Sam’s is having there 1 day sale tomorrow where you can get the 8qt power pressure plus cooker for 69.98

    • K

Is Sam’s a members only store? We don’t have one in VT…

    • Denise G.

Do your research before you buy … I hear that brand on special at Sams is not that great.

Ive had my IP for about 2 months and it is already invaluable!

      • Laura

I was wondering about that! I’ve heard the reviews aren’t as good as the instant pot.

      • Crystal

If you get one and have questions or need anything, or just want to do some research, join the Facebook group for instant pot. It’s great! Over 700,000 in the group and get answers almost immediately.

  3. Val

Thank you!! I’ve checked their website the last few days to see if they were back in stock. I had ordered a 5 quart from my local Walmart, but that was canceled when they couldn’t find it in stock. I was able to get the 6qt. Thanks for posting.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome Val!

  4. Julia

Yay! I was hoping to grab another one of these before Christmas! Thanks!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You are so welcome! Super glad you could snag one! 😉

  5. Julia

And men belong in the doghouse! So get out!!

    • Kidsallgone

      😲😂

50 or 60 years ago, women were primarily at home. Maybe some of them enjoyed cooking and cleaning all day. Not every woman has the time or desire to do that. I’d rather have a quick nutritious meal for my family with easy cleanup that then allows me to spend more quality time with them. My kids won’t remember how I made their dinner, but they will remember that I read to them or colored with them. The time I gained from having an “easy” dinner allows that.

  7. Lina

Well we don’t support you use of English

  8. Sherry

I used the slow cooker option to make beef stew last night. It wasn’t quite done when my family was ready to eat so I set the manual option for the pressure cooker for 15 minutes. It really turned out well.
This is the only thing I use to make rice and hard boiled eggs. It even makes brown rice perfectly and the eggs are so easy to peel.

    • Katie

I’ve found the low slow cook function is extremely low and if you do “normal” slow cook it’s similar to a low on a standard slow cooker.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yum! Thanks for sharing your experience Sherry!

  9. Mary

Seriously?!?! Not the place for hateful comments!

  10. Mary

The instant pot is amazing! My MIL got me one as a gift and it’s a game changer. I use it almost every night! Anyone who is considering this just get it!

    • Steph

I’m a holdout & I don’t know why. I want to get this but I feel like i wont use it. Is that crazy talk? For example, couldn’t you just saute the Mongolian beef in about 10 min in the same pan you browned the beef in? Plus that would save dishes too, right? I know people love this. I need to be convinced because I’m all for EASY meals! I have a rice cooker & we don’t eat hard boiled eggs. I can’t justify buying this but I WANT TO! Someone help me rationalize why I need this!

      • Kris

I feel the same way Steph, I just don’t want it sitting there taking up space.

        • cblayloc

I bought one black friday, held out for a year. Life changing people!! Sounds silly right. It is not. 1 pan for SO many meals. And all those crock pot meals we make…can make it in the IP in under and hour…and they taste better than crock pot. Crazy. So far I have made meatloaf and mashed potatoes (1 pot), tacos (tasted even better than traditional stove top or crock pot method), a lemon chicken that was falling off the bone amazing (and cooked in under 35 minutes), chili one pot because I sauteed the meat and then start the chili. It is just good stuff. I am ready to get rid of my crock pot for sure. I haven’t tried rice or eggs yet but I am sure I will soon. I really don’t think you will regret it.

      • Penny

You need it because you can throw a pot roast and veggies in when you get home from work and have it done in 30 min vs a crock pot cooking all day. That’s my rationale. I bought one yesterday….

      • Jill

Me too! I believe I will use it if I have it but I need to have a set of recipes ready to try. I love all the suggestions but I think I will wait till this summer. I have more time to see it works well for our family. On a side note, we did join the Finglerling Unicorn crowd but that was cheaper 🙂

      • Mel R.

Its a pretty bulky appliance unless you have a spot for it in a cabinet. I use mine all the time, so I just leave it on my counter. Basically, it’s a one-pot wonder. For that Mongolian beef, you saute the beef in the instapot first. Then you add the pieces back to the pot with the other ingredients. The pressure is what makes the meat super tender. Making bone broth is a breeze. I was using my crockpot for an overnight broth, but with the pressure cooker, it takes 1.5 hrs (including the pot coming to pressure and then natural release)! I’ve done baked potatoes, stew, ribs, pork tenderloin, pork chops… soo many recipes on Pinterest!

      • Erin

You sound like me, Steph! I held out for a lot of reasons (among them: I have multiple Crock Pots; I have a rice cooker; I have a high-end stovetop pressure cooker; I have an egg cooker–all of which I use, so I didn’t need the gadget of the month sucking up even more precious space). However, I ultimately bought an Instant Pot for two reasons: I was under-utilizing my pressure cooker due to my inability to convert favorite recipes into pressure cooker recipes (because of its popularity, there are lots of recipes and help on the Internet, which would provide an easy tutorial into pressure cooking) and I got a killer deal on an Instant Pot ($130 model for $63). It has been a good purchase. It’s nice to be able to brown meat and slow cook in the same pot and to make steel cut oats in a fraction of the time it usually takes. I don’t find it useful for rice because it tends to stick to the stainless steel pot–and it’s awfully large to drag out just for a side dish. Likewise, I doubt I’ll use it for eggs since my egg cooker takes up no space and cooks them perfectly. I am happy to have one, but by no means is it a must have–it’s just nice to have if you have the money and the space. If you do get one, do your homework and get the model that you think you’ll use the most and since you’ve held out this long, wait for a killer deal!

      • Mary

You can use it to brown meat or whatever too. You can use it like your stove. There’s lots of you tube videos if you want to see people using it. But for example I needed a fast dinner so I cut up potatoes and carrots and mixed it with 1 cup chicken broth and some salt pepper then put sausages on top. Set it for 7 minutes and I had dinner on the table 20 minutes later. My husband loved it! Even my kids ate it. There’s lots of Pinterest recipes.

    • athallr

I’m the same way. I am cooking for 6, but usually for 8 with leftovers. Would the 8qt be the size I want. I’ve been holding out, but I’m feeling more convinced that I want one.

      • Katie

Definitely an 8 qt for you. I have both sizes and cook for 6-8 to have leftovers the smaller one is just too small. What’s also nice about the 8 qt one is that the insert is bigger so fits larger size pieces of meat.

      • Lydia

Definitely an 8qt for you. I have a 6qt, family of 5, including 2 teenagers. I NEVER have leftovers, and I want leftovers so those teenagers can feed themselves diverging fresh instead of grabbing a can of something from the pantry. I’m upgrading to the 8qt, but I’ll hang on to my 6qt. There are days I do major meal prep, and it would be great for making multiple batches of soup that I can cool then freeze. Also good for smaller size dishes when using the 8qt. Can also use it in the camper or hotel room when I don’t necessarily want any leftovers.

  11. Bebe

This is not the forum for negativity.

  12. Mel R.

Bwahhhhhh hahhhhhhhh LMAO. Don’t feed the troll.

  13. Tammy

I own 3 of the 6 quarts and there are a lot of times that I use all 3 at the same time!!! Also great way to keep food warm if you have company coming and they are running late!!

    • Athallr

Tammy, how many are you cooking for?

    • Katie

I own each a 6 and 8 qt ones and use them both daily. I was able to get rid of my rice cooker and slow cooker and replace them with these. We actually like our rice better in the instant pot than a rice cooker.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!

  14. Indhu

Off topic Have a $10 Victoria secret coupon , looking for $10 off $10 jcp or $5 kohls cash , pls email Hip2Save.shopping@gmail.com

  15. gmvogel

What size would one who owns this recommend purchasing? Is the 3 quart too small to cook meals? I have heard the 8 quart is huge!

    • Lydia

6 qt is a good place to start. If you have to feed 6 or more, or if you want leftovers, I’d go with the 8qt. 3qt, maybe if you’re single or cooking for two, but it might limit you a bit as far as size if you were to cook for guests, a potlock, or a roast or full chicken.
I’d say a 6qt is a safe bet for most people.

    • Rachel

      Wondering the same!

  16. jenna

I have the 8 quart and love it! I am cooking for 7 people daily….3 are teens 😊 so the 8 quart is the right size for us. You don’t have to fill it full every time, so you can make smaller meals or larger meals. I also joined the facebook group which has a ton of recipes. HTH!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

How cool! Glad to hear how much you are enjoying yours! Thanks for sharing!

  17. Britt2.0

OT but does anyone happen to have an American Girl coupon? My daughter really wants the ice cream cart from there but it’s just so expensive!

  18. Lori

Would the 3qt be good for 2 or 3 people?

    • Jac

Honestly, I’m not sure why a person would want the 3 qt. unless to save space. I cook for 2 w/ my 6 qt. most days and often wish I had the 8 qt.

  19. cbonebt

my coupon isn’t working? anyone else having this problem

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Darn! Are you a Cardholder?

  20. Katie

You guys are so convincing! I have been debating for awhile but just ordered the 6 qt. Cant wait to try it!!

  21. SL

Is there a way to get the 30% off without being a Khol’s card holder? Another code?

  22. brit

I’m only seeing the 3qt, are the bigger ones gone already?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

It appears only the 3qt is left. Thanks for the heads up!

  23. Christina

Does anyone have suggestions for which size to buy for a family of 6…4 kids, 2 of which are teenagers… Thank you!!!

    • Erin

      8 quart

      • Christina Marie

        Thank you! 🙂

    • Brenda

The info. I was going by in selecting a size was from someone answering this question previously. They suggested 1 qt. for every person. So 6 people = 6 qt. However, if you are ok with leftovers, I would think the 8qt. might be ok for you, especially with 2 teens. Just my opinion. I bought the 8 qt. for my sons family of 9, with 2 teens.

      • Christina Marie

Thank you so very much!!!! 🙂

  24. Pat

    6qt SOLD OUT

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up Pat!

  25. Tiger’s Mom

  26. Brenda

6 qt. Is out of stock. Bummer! I missed it!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Darn!

  27. Nicole

Yes, is this the best deal for non- cardholders?

  28. Julia

Thanks! I decided to grab two 6Qt duos- I have a 5Qt lux from Black Friday that I will be returning ASAP.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome Julia!

  29. Brenda

Amazon has a 6-qt. Right now for $79.95

    • Carrie

Sold out now too. I don’t think ill ever get to own this pot :/

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Looks like the 6qt is back in stock if you wanted to grab it!

  30. Julie

    8qt is sold out!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Thanks for the heads up!

  31. Amber

Can you still cook all these meals in less than an hour if everything is frozen?

  32. Bee0619

Would the 3 qt be big enough for 2 adults or should I hold off for a 6-8?

  33. SL

Actually the 8 qt is gone now but 6 qt still available. Just clicked on it and that’s what it showed.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for letting us know! I am seeing that now as well!

  34. m

Quick question- For a family of four what size should I buy? 3qt or the 6qt?

    • Mel R.

6 qt. It was posted above to figure 1 qt per person. this gives you a little more room for bigger cuts of meat and leftovers.

      • m

        Thanks so much!

    • SL

6 qt is good. But if you make stocks or broths it is better to get a 8qt. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 boys and we have the 6qt but if I could do it again I would get the 8qt. 8qt will let you have some left overs for the next day.

  35. Kiwi

I love mine. As a full time working mom of 2 boys, 2 & 6, with a husband who works full time and in school full time, this is a life saver. It takes 23ish minutes for my full pot of spaghetti to get to pressure then cold for only 6. I never have to sit and watch it. Cooking it on the stove may be faster but I have to constantly watch it. For me, something a bit longer is just let stress!

  36. ❤️my_lineman

I have a $20 VS reward ($20 off $40) that expires tonight and I was wondering if anyone would want to swap? (I’m not looking for any photo discounts…) Would love equal amount of Kohl’s cash! let me know what you have! erinsmail22@yahoo.com
