On the fence? Check out what my sidekick Mary has to say…

We purchased a Ring Video Doorbell Pro since our neighborhood has had a few missing packages and break-ins over the past few months and I have to say it is really cool!

We actually installed it this past Saturday and ended up catching my daughter having friends over without asking us after we had just left the house when she was supposed to be doing chores (so she could go out later). I called her right after I saw her friends came over while we were out and asked her what she was doing and she said “Oh I’m doing chores” and I was able to immediately call her on it. Pretty funny as she said her friends came over to help with chores. Oh my – gonna be a long summer! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyways, it’s pretty cool as it’s easy to install and you can make it as sensitive as you want it to so it can detect all motion or you can just have it notify you strictly when people ring the doorbell.

    The testimonial is too funny.

  2. Jenn

This is an amazing product! Thank goodness it was not around when I was younger, though! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Steph

I bought this as an early Christmas gift to my husband. We LOVE it! I wrapped it up with a bow and a note โ€œwill you ring my bellโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

How cute!! Thanks for sharing Steph! Glad to hear how much you have liked it!

can someone please tell me whats difference between the Pro, ring & ring 2?

    • dd-amber

Pro must be hardwired to your existing doorbell wiring. Also pro will run on both 2.4 and 5 ghz Wi-Fi for better connection. Pro also has better moion detection.

  5. April

The pro is hard-wired and the the ring 2 is wireless through your Wi-Fi…we took our old doorbell off and rewired (hence no batteries to replace either)

    • cm

Thank you April. We are renters so I will have to wait for a better deal on the Ring 2.

      • Sarah

We r renters also and have the pro. Itโ€™s so EASY to install. We just kept the old one and when we move out we will just put the old one back on.

  6. Sam

It is adding one extra item not two?

    • dd-amber

Wondered the same. I bought it hopefully both extras come

So to be able to view a live stream of who is at your door do you have to sign up with their subscription service? If you didn’t have to do that I would definitely get one, but I don’t like that this is something that will turn into another bill.

    • Kimmie

The subscription service is just to save the videos. The first 30 days are free. Subscription is only if you want to purchase it.

      • Lolita

So if you aren’t on your phone to see something livestream you miss it unless you sign up for their subscription?

the pro is definitely the way to go. And it even has interchangeable face plates to match your house. It is smaller and more elegant looking. Lots of other benefits mentioned.. one of the best is the fact that the pro can do motion detection zones so if there are trees or other areas in your front view or a street which cars drive down you can tell the doorbell to ignore any Motion in those sections which is fantastic to avoid false positives. The only downside to the pro over the other model is that there is no battery so that means if you lose power to the house your doorbell stops working. However a lot of these smart home things are like that where a thief could cut the power or the cable to the house and everything goes down. Unless you are well prepared with a generator and backup devices.

Thanks for the helpful feedback Joe!

Btw I saw on another site that people were going with the same deal at Lowe’s but if you don’t add the extender into the cart it still gives you the discount. The price then becomes $150

    • Tracy

I went to Lowes website and don’t see it. Can you tell me where you saw that deal? Thank you!

    • Tracy

Disregard. Just needed to add to cart and it showed up for the $150. Thank you for sharing.

    • Nessa

Hi how do i get it for 150.00 at Lowe’s

      • dd-amber

Add ring pro and wifi extender to your cart. Delete extender and ring shows up for 150.

  10. Brandy

It’s only adding the wifi extender and not the white ring chime. What am I doing wrong?

    • dd-amber

Same here. I think it’s a typo and only extender is included not chime too. The Wi-Fi extender has a built-in chime

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Looks like they are now only offering one free accessory. The post has been updated!

  11. mayra

I go to Lowes website but it no longer lets me add the wifi extender ๐Ÿ™ any advice?

    • dd-amber

They fixed their error. No longer available online. In-store only

      • Nessa

I went by store and they wanted reg price

  12. Ronnie Juarez

I know its not the pro but I ordered ring 2 from QVC & it came with the chime pro & 3yr warranty for $160 & they allow that in 5 payments. Its currently $175, $25 savings might not be much but you can make it in payments if you don’t want to pay it all at once.

  13. Anthony Sabia

Nobody ever mentioned 3 dollars a month fee

  14. Jah

I want to get on but there no wiring to connect the doorbell to.

  15. Crystal

    I. Can’t get the price to $199. Is there a code?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Looks like this deal has ended ๐Ÿ™ Darn!
