No need to meet the $35 minimum to get free shipping on your Walmart.com order! Walmart+ Members score free next day and 2-day shipping on items ordered from Walmart.com with no minimum spend required. Note that this excludes marketplace items, oversized, and freight items.
Do you currently make two small orders under $35 a week at Walmart? If so, the company estimates that the FREE shipping benefit can save you over $500 a year.
2. Walmart Plus offers unlimited FREE grocery delivery.
Walmart+ members score unlimited free delivery on orders over $35 (restrictions apply), with delivery as early as the same day. Keep in mind that you’ll still be able to choose Walmart’s free curbside pickup, NextDay delivery, and two-day delivery. If you tend to get two orders per week from Walmart, the company estimates you can save over $800 a year from this FREE delivery benefit.

Several Hip2Save team members use Walmart+ and they love it…
“Love Walmart Plus and Scan & Go. As a deal shopper, this is HANDS DOWN the way to look for in-store clearance. Seriously life life-changing! It’s also pretty cool to just ring up all of your stuff on your phone, then scan your phone at self-checkout. So easy and a huge time saver!” – Paige, Hip Sidekick
“I get groceries delivered once or twice a week, so my membership has paid for itself many times over. In fact, my Walmart Plus account tracks how much time and money my membership is saving me, and I’ve saved $447 in grocery delivery fees and fuel discounts in about 8 months! Best of all, I haven’t had to go inside a Walmart since March, which has saved me an estimated 45 hours of time! I will DEFINITELY be renewing this membership when it expires!” 🙌 – Jenna, Hip Sidekick
“I love being able to get groceries and other necessities delivered from Walmart when I need them instead of having to leave the house. It’s super convenient if you work from home and/or have a busy schedule, or if you’re like me and the closest Walmart is 15-20 minutes away! Getting Paramount+ for free makes the cost a no-brainer for me as I was previously paying ($59.99 a year) for that streaming service.
I also love that I don’t have to worry about meeting the $35 minimum for ordering online and I can easily return items without going back to the store too! This is one of the best investments I have made that saves me time and money and makes my life a little bit easier!” – Misty, Hip Sidekick
Hip2Save readers love it too…
“I have been using Walmart Plus more for online shopping because the shipping is faster.” – Alyson, Hip2Save reader
“My sister has Walmart Plus and she’s delivered groceries to my house before when the whole house got Covid, it was amazing.” – Heidi, Hip2Save reader

With the grocery delivery service..is tipping the person expected?
Hey there! You can tip if you’d like. I did find this in their FAQ – “You can tip your delivery driver through the app.” Hope that is helpful! 🤗
Do the Walmart in-home add on and the groceries get delivered by a Walmart employee and not door dash and there’s no tipping.
It might depend on who is delivering. My Walmart uses Door Dash drivers, so I tip them well. If the delivery is a Walmart Employee, they might not be allowed to accept tips, so call your Walmart to find out.
I live in a rural area. If I have the plus membership, would I have non perishable food items mailed for free?
Hi Debby! It appears so. You could always check with customer service to be sure.
Debby, I have the Walmart+ membership & yes, there are non perishables that will ship to your address for free & I’ve done that. The super easy way to tell is look up the item on the WM site, underneath it will show “pickup, delivery, shipping” or all three. That tells you which method of delivery is available to your address. Be sute to put in your zip code. And yes, there is no shipping minimum. HTH
Thanks so much for sharing this helpful tip! We sure appreciate it! ❤️
I also live in a rural area, less than 20 minutes from two different Walmarts and I do not qualify for the program. I would definitely make sure you live in their delivery area before signing up. I did not do that
If I take the membership, do I still need to have $35 grocery to do curbside pickup?
Call your Walmart. Policies can vary in each store.
Hi everyone @ Hip2Save,
Question, for the Walmart+ grocery app, or scan & pay (I think it’s called?) do I need to pay with a Walmart CC, or can I pay with a regular CC?
TY in advance. 🤗
Hey there! With Scan & Go, you can use any credit or debit card that you have saved in your Walmart account. Hope this helps! 💕
How do you know which items will ship and which will be delivered? I don’t want to sign up and then find out everything I’m interested in would be delivered and still need to meet a $35 minimum.
Hey Wendy! Each product page should list the options for each particular item to be delivered. It will vary based on what’s being ordered and where you live. You might pick a few things you typically buy or are most interested in, and while logged into your regular Walmart account, check the delivery options on those pages to have a good idea of what will work in your area.
Liza, a Hip sidekick, shared with me – “We don’t have Walmart delivery (like same-day) here, but everything I order ships to my house in 2-3 days for free. For things that can’t be shipped, I do curbside pickup. There is a $35 minimum threshold for that, but not for shipping.”
Hope this is helpful! 🤞❤️
Can you have grocery delivery sent to different addresses? Like for example can I order my groceries, send groceries to my elderly mother at a different address, have groceries delivered while on vacation, etc.
Hey Heather! I just tested this and was able to change the address during checkout for the grocery delivery order. Something to keep in mind though is that not all locations offer the same-day delivery, so you could always test this by adding some items to your cart in your regular Walmart account and changing up the delivery address to see if it’s available for that location. Hoping this helps! 💕
I order groceries and have them delivered to my daughter’s college house, all the time. No issues at all. This is much safer than her going shopping herself.
Thanks for sharing how it works for you, Andrea! Sure appreciate it! Love that you’re able to do that for your daughter! ❤️
Yes. I use this to send my daughter Valentines, birthday and such. She has a Walmart near and they will deliver fresh items and flowers if available 🙂 I’m in Florida and she is in Virginia. You put her address and name as a shipping /delivery option and when you choose it it changes the page to items available at their Walmart nearby.
This is a great idea for gifts!! I’m going to start using my membership this way too.
We have groceries delivered on vacation all the time and I’ve had groceries delivered to other addresses.
Hello. How does the scan and go work inside the store? If I have a cart full of items am I scanning them as I add them to my cart? How will bagging the items work? Do I just walk out the door?
Hi Tina!🤗 Great question! It looks like you could bag your items at self checkout. I did find these details on how that works –
“Scan each item’s barcode & place it in your cart. You’ll need to weigh items sold by the pound at self-checkout. A Walmart associate will need to verify your ID for items with age restrictions, such as alcohol.
Check out digitally – When you’re finished shopping, head to a self-checkout register, scan your QR code to finalize payment, receive an exit pass & e-receipt, & be on your way.
As you leave, a Walmart associate may scan your exit pass.
All of the steps including a video on how it works are here. Happy shopping!🥰
You still have to go to a check out or self check out and scan the barcode that’s on your phone. Then an associate comes and approves it. Honestly it took longer than just using self check out. I thought I was going to scan and go 🤣 Assumed the person at the door would “approve” me to leave.
Has anyone done this who also uses Paramount+? We were wondering if we can pay the little difference for commercial free, since it looks like it only provides the basic ad-supported plan. Is it possible to upgrade to the ad free plan and just pay the monthly difference?
Hey there! I did find this in Walmart’s terms and conditions – “The included benefit is limited to the Paramount+ Essential Plan (ad-supported), only and does not include Paramount+ Essential Plan with Showtime.” Hope this helps! ❤️
I have absolutely loved my Walmart+ subscription for over a year! It’s worth every penny. I was picking up groceries weekly so having them delivered has truly spoiled me and I figure the gas and time I save pays for the subscription 😆. Keep in mind you do tip on home delivery. I recently added the in-home free trial but choose door step delivery instead of having them come in my home and for this service you’re not supposed to tip. I add my groceries to the app throughout the week then order on Fridays! I don’t know if I could ever go back to shopping in store 😆
Thanks so much for taking the time to share about your Walmart+ experience! Glad to hear how much of a time-saver this service has been for you! 🙌💗
Can someone answer if there are any added fees at all with a membership? Grocery delivery $35 minimum I understand is free, but like with Instacart are there “other“ fees, other than taxes? If the prices are the same as in store I’m wondering if there’s a convenience surcharge or gas fee.
Hey Sue! I’m not seeing any additional fees associated with the membership, but you might check out
their FAQ page here, or contact customer service to be sure of the membership cost and benefits before snagging this deal. Hoping this is helpful! ❤️
Thank you Jessica
No extra fees. Everything is priced the same as in store.
Not always. The app even says online prices may vary from in-store. I checked this out last night. We shopped in-store, but I had the list saved in the app. I selected the store we were at, and certain items were priced more in the app than in-store.
I seriously couldn’t make it without my Wally+! I’ve got brain cancer & have seizures, so I can’t drive. I’m dependent on delivery. AND I get delivery to my elderly grandparents as well. So much faster than Amazon shipping too.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and let us know how much this has helped you, Ashley! It’s also great that you have been able to use it to get delivery for your grandparents too! 🤗 ❤️
I use amazon prime A LOT…I am almost ready to switch to walmart+, even at full price. the idea of the “regular prices” and groceries getting delivered for free is a bonus. I don’t qualify for the cheap deal. (i’ve never had walmart+ before) but this may be the year that i take the plunge…
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Jeanette! I use Amazon Prime a lot too! LOL 🤗 Hoping you love Walmart+ too, if you decide to try it!🤞
I did it, I took the plunge! We have our eldest son living several states away. The idea that we could send him what he needed was worth it. There is a learning curve. I put several things in my cart, hoping for delivery. But, the minimum required order amount for my delivery needed to be $35?! Now, if it was some thing that could be shipped, the $35 no longer applied. Still, it’s a good deal. And I will get the hang of it!
YAY! 🎉 Hoping you end up loving it, Jeanette! Thanks for sharing how it’s been working for you so far! 🤗🥰
I’ve had Walmart since 2021 , I order house supplies or if I’m running low on on food perishables. I tip 15% or more depending on how much I order. I”lol be honest I’ve had my ups and downs with delivery from door dash. But Walmart customer service is awesome and they understand your situation, they will basically do anything to keep there customer happy. I believe that Walmart is good and great to have . Also you find great prices . So yes highly recommended.
YAY! Glad to hear about how pleased you are with your membership and how helpful customer service has been with any troubles, sheilaann. 🙌💓 Thanks so much for letting us know you would recommend Walmart+!
I got Walmart+ for my college student Grandson. He loves it. He is so busy, he often doesn’t have time to shop, so having his groceries delivered is great for him. The discount on gas helps too. I will sometimes make up an order of goodies for him & have them delivered to his apartment from the Walmart near him. No shipping charges, & he gets fresh items delivered the a same day. Makes a great gift!
Wow! Thanks for hopping into the comments to share this helpful review on how much your grandson enjoys using his Walmart+ membership as a busy college student, Ande! 🙌 So sweet that you’re able to send him goodies too. I agree that it makes a great gift, and there’s great value in all the savings and convenience! 💗
ty h2s I was able to Score the monthly fee $6,99 because I’m Disabled ! I might just have to say goodbye to Amazon. 😊
You’re so welcome, Liz! 💞 Glad you could grab the savings on a membership, and hoping you find it as valuable as so many of us on the Hip team have! 🤞
I just tried the new Auto Care benefit today for a tire that needed a repair due to a slow leak. It was a super easy process. The tire was fixed and we were out within 30 minutes. Best part – it was FREE! Great new benefit.
Thanks so much for commenting, RMS! Great to hear that the process was quick and easy for getting your tire repaired! 🙌💕
Wondering if the online grocery prices for shipping are the same as purchasing in store? Or is there a mark up due to the no minimum free shipping?
Great question! I don’t find the prices to be higher when having my groceries delivered. I often find it easier to grab the cash back or digital offers when ordering online. Hope that is helpful! ❤️🙌
Thank you! seems like a great time to try out the membership ☺️
You’re so welcome! It sure is! 🎉
Product prices are the same as (or in some cases even lower than) in store, so no shadow cost there.
But you are very strongly encouraged to tip the delivery person several dollars, so that adds to the cost.
Darn my Walmart just renewed. Just coming here to say this is a service I can’t live without. I pay the extra for Walmart In-home which is an add on service that will deliver your groceries inside (but you don’t have to do it this way). I still have them leave them on the porch and the delivery drivers are from Walmart and not DoorDash and there’s no tipping. I order weekly so the tipping was getting to be a bit much for me. The only caveat is delivery is within a 4 hour window and not a 1 hour window which works for us bc someone’s always home usually to get the groceries off the porch.
We also enjoy a free paramount subscription with our Walmart subscription. It’s nice bc I’m about to start cutting back on streaming subscriptions to help pay for college but don’t have to cut this one.
To me it is worth it just for the Scan and Go. Game changer when shopping as it is a quick in and out. The reason I did not renew my Costco membership and kepts Sam’s is because Costco does not offer it.
I love the Scan and Go convenience at Sam’s Club too, Tracy! SO handy to be able to handle my items one time into the cart and then loading up! 🤗💕
can I just say that we LOVE our walmart subscription!!!!! we can get fresh food delivered and wow, what a blessing!!!! (we only have a small store, so those who have a super center closer will have EVEN MORE ACCESS!!!!!) just the idea that my regular plunder can get delivered or shipping quickly and without the price gouging has been so nice!!
Thanks so much for sharing your positive review on your Walmart+ membership, jeanette! 🎉💓 So awesome to hear how helpful the grocery delivery has been for you!
Is grocery delivery available with Walmart+, if it isn’t available in my area regularly? It would totally be worth it for the delivery but I can’t find out.
Hey Mariam! I believe there are a couple of ways you can check on that. First, be sure to login to your Walmart account and select your store. Then head to the Walmart+ link above and see if you find the option available for you. Another way would be to call in to your location and double check that they have grocery delivery. 🤗
I much prefer Walmart+ to Amazon. The shipping is MUCH faster for me. Sometimes even the same day whereas Amazon is consistently 2-5 days. I’m rural enough I don’t qualify for store delivery but can often “ship” instead and get my non-grocery items the same day. I have had grocery items delivered to my college kid and he appreciates it. I can’t do that with Amazon.
