Numerous readers are having issues with being able to stack a Target coupon and manufacturer coupon together on one item. Well, the good news is that Target’s coupon policy clearly states that you can use both coupons together on one item. Their policy also states that if the value of the coupon is higher then the value of the item, then they can adjust the coupon down. Go on over here to access their coupon policy. Print it off and keep it with you every time you shop at Target.

  1. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for posting the policy. I have been having a HORRIBLE time at Target lately.

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

When does the Glade deal end? I was just at Target last night and they were out of them again. I really want to get in on this again since I still have a few more coupons left.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The Skintimate shave gel is $2.24 at my Target. With the 4/26SS coupon and the Target coupon, I paid 49 cents.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Hip, I don’t know how to contact you directly but I found a good deal at Target. The single joint juice’s are priced at $1, so if you use the $1 off any Joint Juice, we have FREE!! This looks like this is their normal everyday price…so lucky us. Thanks, I LOVE your blog!!

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I believe the Glade candle deal is good thru 5/11. (My Target has been low on them, too!)
Also, this isn’t Target related, but wanted to share, as I’m not sure how long this is going to last: ae.com has an amazing 40% off deal going site wide. (Even on clearance items!) You can check it out here: https://allmyfaves.blogspot.com/2009/05/40-off-aecom.html

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Does ya’lls Target say that a gift card will be given if you buy 2 candles? Mine doesn’t even have a sign above the candles (only on some Glad products) and it says a FREE gift will be given (but no gift card.) I’m guessing this is only some Targets?

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I read a lot of comments about how everyone hates Target…you can add me to that list. I went last night, and had a problem with those darn Easy Mac bowls…what an ordeal. The computer told her there was no match…then she got the, I guess manager, and she wouldn’t take them either. I tried the “you go by the wording on the coupon, not the picture” analysis, but that didn’t help. I told her Target needs to get these coupons straight because everyone is having problems…I am definitely calling corporate tomorrow. Then, they only had 1 Glade candle, so I went to Courtesy Desk…could not get a rain check on something that produces a gift card. I did manage to get 2 Bliss bars. I haven’t been going to Target that long, but guess what…I don’t think I will be going that much, from now on.

Also, I hate Walgreens RRs program…it wouldn’t be bad if you can use them on anything, like ECBs, but to have to sit and add coupon to item ratio…I just don’t like it. I think what I might do at Walgreens is just purchase the money makers, that way I won’t have too many RRs to worry about using. I do want to thank Collin and whoever else mentioned about the marshmallows and the peanut butter…I was able to use RRs on those and the other stuff I purchased.

We only have 1 car, which means I get to do most of my running around on Saturday…and to hit Target, CVS, Walgreens, maybe RiteAid, and ShopRite all in one day is way to much for me. I have a bad knee and by the time I do all that shopping, my Achilles tendon on one foot really starts to bother me. My husband tells me I need to go shopping once a month, which I probably can and not miss anything.

Hey Danielle, Be sure to check the expiration dates on the Joint Juice…I bought some weeks ago at Target that were already expired, so I had to return them. Also, keep your eye out for the 4 pack of these…I just got them at ShopRite for $2.49 (1/2 price), with the $2.00 coupon that came with the $1.00 one, I paid $.49 plus tax OOP. I figured I could use these along with Osteo BiFlex for my knee.

    Happy Mother’s Day to all.

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Previous post. I’m not anonymous, I’m fran.

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just posted match ups on some of the new Target coupons.

The Aquafresh at my store started at $2.29 so only $0.29 after the coupons!

I also found the Skintimate for $2.24 so that must be the normal price.

Swiffer Refills are included in the $5.00 GC Deal. Do 3 Transactions of 2 each to get 6 for $24.24

    Get $15.00 in Target GC
    Submit for $10.00 Rebate
    = FREE SWIFFER REFILLS! 🙂

There are some coupons around that will make it even better too!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This subject is off Target, but I just wanted to ask a question..

Has anyone went into a store and at the end of the transaction, handed over your coupons and found out AFTER you got home that they missed one or more?? If so, what does one do. Tell them at the next visit and get your money back?

I let it go the last time(s) that it happened. .75 here..$1.00 there. But it just keeps happening every time I go! Last time it was for $2.00 off Oxy for my daughter. This time it was the $1.50 off Kraft dressing making it only .08!

Now, the register has beeped in the past for some unknown reason for this coupon. There is no overage, and the brand, size and even the flavor was the same as the coupon. But I don’t know if it beeped because I was putting groceries under my cart, but she didn’t hand me back the coupon and say there was a problem. It was the only $1.50 coupon I had given her, and it wasn’t on my receipt.

I just don’t want to be like “Give me my $1.50 back!” but they are getting a profit from my coupon and I did pay full price.

What does everyone else do when they were robbed of their coupon savings, and how much is worth fussing about?

I’m just kind of mad at the moment, because I just keep getting robbed of my savings.

OH, and on top of it, it was Mothers Day Sunday and they had announced that ALL the flowers for mom were 50% off. Well….as you can guess…only some rang up half off. And I was in such a hurry I didn’t see what it rang up as..and I didn’t look at my receipt until I got home.

Walmart can really be a horrible place!! grrr.

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Fran,

I think a lot of Target employees don’t know their own coupon policy, and that is a shame. You might have gotten the GSTL (guest relations team leader). I would always ask for the LOD(leader on duty) which would be one of the executive team leaders. They basically run the store, and I would hope they would know the policy.

As for Walgreens, I LOVE walgreens and think you might not plan out enough ahead of time. I do agree that CVS is better in terms of rolling ECBs and not having to think about it. But CVS has its downsides too- they have too many limits on things so I often find I can only get one good deal, whereas with Walgreens, I can roll my RRS over and over again. I think if you planned more ahead of time, you’d learn to love the RRs 🙂

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Rach, Thanks for your input. Do you want to come to N.J. and come shopping with me? I didn’t know what they were called, but she must have been a GSTL, because she kept getting interrupted and she said she was taking care of “this guest” right now.

You can’t believe all the time I wasted Saturday just getting ready for all the stores…between pulling coupons, printing coupons, and writing down the coupons I was using at each store, I didn’t get shopping until almost 5:00. I do usually have everything ready ahead of time, but Saturday I didn’t…big mistake. We didn’t get home until after 9:00…needless to say, my husband wasn’t a happy camper.

You know Rach, believe it or not, I have been couponing for a long time (it may not sound like it), and I don’t really need to get ALL the deals out there each week. I don’t know about you, but it seems I’m spending too much time shopping for bargains. You know another problem I have…Walgreens doesn’t have the correct clearance prices and I have to keep going back and forth to get price checks, and then my knee and ankle start to bother me. I’m going to find out why they don’t put correct prices on shelf tags.

Another point, ECBs are good for a month, RRs only 2 weeks. I am going to call corporate to suggest some ways they can make this program better for us. Thanks again, Rach.

T, If you don’t realize until you get home that they missed a coupon, you can just call the store and tell them (get the name of who you spoke to)…they will probably just tell you to bring your receipt to customer service the next time you come in. A better way would be to bring a tablet or a piece of paper with you…as you put something in the cart, write down the price you will be paying AFTER coupon is deducted, then when you get a total, check your total with their total before tax…it should be the same, if not, question them before you pay. Also,I have been handing them 1 coupon at a time and I make sure it is taken off…that way you won’t get gypped. Don’t let them intimidate you if they ask for all the coupons at once…just tell them that you’d rather do it this way so you are sure to get credit for each coupon. HTH

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Is the chex mix coupon still available? I don’t see it anywhere. Thanks!!!

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

T…I’ve had the same experience with a coupon not ringing up and it makes me mad too. I just let it go because how are they going to check that you actually gave a coupon to the checker? Just wednesday at Safeway I had a safeway coupon for free strawberries and it was not taken off. I do keep track of what I’m spending and compare it to the total they ring up…most times it’s close enough. If it’s not I usually don’t say anything at that moment because there is a line of people behind me…but I think for now on I’m going to. I’m spending my money in their store and they should be charging us correctly. Anyone else have ideas on this subject?

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Alyssa,
The Chex Mix coupon has expired.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My Target has the Pace Specialty Salsas on sale for $1.99 and there is a $2 coupon, making it FREE. I am not sure which newspaper coupon I got it from though, it was the last 2-3 weeks.

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    The $1.oo/2 tostito’s coupon from 4/26SS expired on 5/10 🙁

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My Target is now only taking 4 coupons at a time…very annoying!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Ya, I have decided to just let it go. But it is frustrating though because your paying full price and they have your coupon that they will be sending off for the credit. So your getting jipped and they are making a profit off you. Thats the only reason I really wanted to say something.

But I figure from now on, I will be writing my coupons down on my binder (full of coupons) and counting them and calculating them and handing them over one at a time to the cashier.

ALSO! Remember to watch the screen to make sure they went through. I worked at Walmart as a cashier before and I know that sometimes the register will as a question like “Food Item?” or something like that where the cashier has to press yes or no for the register to except the coupon. If they are not looking, they can just keep running through the coupons until the machine finally gives a “problem beep” and they look up.

I missed out on about $3.50 in savings because of that. Make sure each coupon scanned pops up a different bar code number on your view screen.

I’m gonna pay real close attention from now on.

ALSO, when I was a cashier, we never questioned the picture of the comp. price ad. We just matched to stores not of membership status (Costco, Bi-Mart etc.) and that the sale was still going. Also..for a reason I can’t recall..we didn’t do 10/$10 comps. Some cashiers don’t know the rules very well.

My Walmart told me about a month ago that they do now except printed coupons, but never told me a limit. As for the 40+ coupons YES WE DID except them. The machine would need an override by a member of management or CSM (Customer Service Manager) and you were good to go. It was the same as needing an override for hand keying a item for $5 or more off the price. It was just to show that you(the cashier) was not just doing overrides for friends and family for the heck of it.

My managers were real good at making the customer happy, so I would call and talk to an available ASSISTANT manager..or CO-manager. They would most likely tell you to come in with your receipt and coupons and they would exchange them for the cash you lost.

It wouldn’t hurt to give it a try!

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I had the same issue with the Easy Mac bowls and Hershey Bliss candy. The cashier wanted to follow the picture and not the verbiage of the coupon. I had my baby with me that was ready to go so I didn’t have time to call the manager. I just asked her to take the items back. I could tell it bothered her that my total was $1.30 for 12 bucks of stuff. I don’t know why they get upset. It does not cost them anything.

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for posting the Target Deals! I paid $13 for $30 worth of stuff today….yay! The only thing different was at my Target the Kraft salad dressing was $2.29. Maybe it is a regional thing.

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It is 5/13 and I just got back from Target. I’ve had a heck of a time lately with Target taking more than one of their own coupons, but I lucked out today with my cashier who told me to give me everything and all of my coupons at the end. And I was glad since I haven’t been shopping for the past two weeks and had a lot to get today… I spent $60 out pocket and saved $160! Yeah for ME!!! 🙂

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If Target would not reimburse you for the coupons they missed, they have store or “sorry-for-the-inconvenience” coupons they can give customers. They are $3 off any purchase of $3 or more and does not expire.
