Hi Hip 2 Save! I have been reading your blog for awhile now and LOVE IT! Can you explain what Ebates is? I have heard you reference it several times but would like more info. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the HOT tip! I started my Xmas shopping. I got a throw for $14.99 and 3 embroidered wraps for $9.99 each. Subtotal = $44.96 – $13.49 for the promotion and free shipping. Total = $33.04 ($1.57 taxes). Plus I will get 2% back through Ebates and 1.5% back on my AmEx. 4 Xmas presents for under $10 a piece! Thanks again.

Basically when you sign up for a cash back program you earn money back for shopping at various stores online. For example, lets say you were already going to purchase an item online. Instead of going directly to the site, you would actually go to the cash back site first and then click through to the store you want to shop at. That way when you purchase the item/items you will get a percentage of money back for your purchases. You may only get 1% or 2% back from some stores while others may give you 25% back or more!

It’s well worth signing up for. Every little bit helps and before long the cash back you make will add up!:)

I thought that the offer wasn’t valid because it didn’t show the extra 30% off on the order summary, but when I continued to the next page it worked! Thanks!

I am new and trying to figure out what coupon 4/5ss or whatever means? could you point a new comer in the right direction?

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

4/5 ss means April 5th smart source coupon packet in your sunday paper. 4/5 rp would be april 5 red plum packet. p&g would be procter & gamble. You can get these each sunday maybe extras from family or friends or buy them yourself. Try to buy the largest paper in your area for the most coupons. Any other questions?

I collect coupon packets from each week, put them in ziplocs and file in my briefcase although I may have to expand to a file box. Hope this helps.
