Hunh, IDK, I attempted to enter this contest, and after filling it all out and clicking on submit, it just stays there, nothing happends. It does not go to the next screen.

Update, apparently it runs really slow (at least for me it did). Give it time it will advance to then next screen(s). Good Luck everybody and Thanks Collin for another great find!

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, it is very slow, so slow I almost gave up, but eventually it does advance to the next screen.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for a great coupon! I was able to print twice. It is slow. Just be patient everyone!

  4. Debra

This seems like a lot of groceries to buy just to save $2. I never spend this much at one time, do you guys?

    • Craig

If you or somebody you know has families, YES THEY DO. I come close with just me. But, Im going to give my q’s to my friends that go over this amt. everytime they go shopping just about. So keep this in mind when you “coupon”.

    • Shelly

LOL! I was thinking the same thing Debra. I don’t remember the last time my pre-coupon total was that high. I came kinda close today – $67 before q’s, $28 after (most of that was meat and veg)! I’m trying to eat as much as I can from my stockpile this month too, so my trips are even smaller than normal. Great coupon tho, if you are planning a big trip!

  5. Lisa

I agree with Debra, I never spend that much in groceries in one stop. I’m feeding a family of 4, with a 14 year old boy who is eating everything, but still never hit $100 during the week. I’m usually may around $40 to $50, then after couponing any where from $15 to $25 sometimes even lower.

  6. Craig

We have Meijer stores here and they have almost everything under one roof. So when you start buying items that might not have qs or whatever its very easy to hit this mark. In example: if you bought a few contaiers of Oil at $11 each along with your grocerys, and so on it happends. LOL

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks, Collin! The site was very slow and the pages didn’t load correctly (selecting answers for the questions was difficult because the answers didn’t line up right with the cursor — very strange), but I was able to print two coupons. I’m impressed that anyone can feed a family of four for a week spending less than $100. I haven’t been able to do it, even with sales and coupons.

    • Summer

I feed and diaper (3 kids) and buy cleaning producst for a family of five on $75 per week. But I probably spend more time than I should each week matching up deals with coupons! It’s an addiction 🙂

    • Kate

Try going less often – for us working Mom’s it saves a lot of time! Lately I’ve been going every 2-3 weeks and spening about $130 or so – Good Luck! I know it’s saved me a lot of time and gives me more time with the kids! And Hubby! 🙂

Can someone let me know the expiration date? Like Shelly, I’m trying to use what we have, and I’d really have to plan for this coupon. Milk at Shop Rite is $3.19 a gallon…if you buy 2, it’s $2.69 each….I used the free 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk coupon yesterday.

  9. Aaryn

Great deal! We buy lots of organic foods, so our precoupon total is always close to or above $100 for a family of four. Just FYI, this coupon has a max value of $4, so if you buy organic milk, it won’t be free but it will be significantly cheaper. Thanks for sharing the deal!

  10. Anna in NC

Fran – the expiration date on mine is 2/16/2010.

    • fran

Thanks Anna:) I think I will print this…although, since I already did my contests today, I’ll have to enter my husband.

  11. robyn

free milk?? this is awesome. my exp. date was also 2/26/10

    • fran

      Thanks Robyn…I printed mine…date is 2/16.

  12. Sarah

Well, I’m printing the coupon in hopes that I can use it, but I agree that it is hard to get to $100, even before coupons. I usually split up 2 shopping trips of the week between Publix and Kroger, so that I can get the best deals both places, and the MOST I will usually spend (BEFORE coupons), rarely hits $80. But, I’ll try to make it work! Thanks.

  13. Melanie

We only go to the store once or twice a month, so it is no problem to spend that much. Especially if you go to Walmart and get everything else you need beyond groceries.

  14. IndyMom

I like to routinely (every few days)stop in different stores to buy only whats free or close to free with coupons so lately I haven’t spent a total of $100 before coupons anywhere, I usually try to by all the really good deals and then like once a month I’ll go and do my big shopping trip (about $75 after coups)which I pick up things I couldn’t find on sale and isn’t in my stockup. When I go back to work I’m sure I’ll be doing my usual 2 week shopping trips which for my family tops atleast $140-$160 every two weeks.

  15. Danielle Miller

I rarely spend that much either. But with a plan, I could. Maybe on a day I want to stock pile on dog food, diapers and formula or something. The dogs cost more to feed than the rest of the family. They can only eat Purina One or we have problems. Another good way to plan this is with a beer rebate. The only one I’m aware of right now is the Coors Light one that Collin points out in the CVS post. But a lot of them that come out give you a certain rebate amount when you buy the beer . . . AND $50 worth of groceries, or whatever. If I’m working hard to plan a trip that’s $50 after coupons, plus beer, then the before coupon amount is usually pretty dang high. I wish it had a later expiration date though. I’m also trying to really limit expenses this month and next.

  16. Vicki H.

i have a hard time buying $100 groceries all at once, even with careful planning. But i used this coupon last time it came around at Walmart — i had to buy a computer desk there that week (no good used ones available anywhere and time was short), so that and my other food purchases brought me up to $100.

  17. ThriftyPuppy

I have a hard time even getting to $50 now with all the coupons, so I think I’m going to hand this out to some of my friends that are…..shall we say….less “hip” than us frugalistas? LOL

  18. Jessica

This will go great with my grocery store’s promotion: spend $100 get a $25 gift card!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

what store is doing that offer? where are you located? Thanks!

  19. cindy in indy

I had issues with my last milk coupon I printed. Meijer said it was a fake coupon because at the top is said Milk coupon not Manufact Coupon they refused it. They siad their stores have it posted as a fake coupon. I emailed the company over a week ago and never heard back. Any one know if this one in fact says Milk coupon at the top like the last one.

    • Kristin

Sorry you’re having so much trouble using these coupons. This one indeed does say Milk Coupon on the top.

    • Summer

I used mine at Meijer without any question. My early AM cashier is really good about my pile of coupons 🙂 Though I have been having a lot more trouble with couponing at Meijer lately when I go thru the u scans.

    • MandaKay

I also used our half gallon of choc. coupon with no problem, what a bummer that they didn’t let you use it.

  20. terri

I printed mine up very easily, free milk, fantastic.

  21. Amanda

Thanks so much! I am up to 6 gallons a week with my 2 kids, so this is sooooo helpful!

  22. Laura

My grocery store clerk tried to tell me that my buy 2 gallons, get one chocolate milk half gallon for free coupon (from the milk website last promotion) and all I had to do was get a manager to come over and do the coupon. I think once he saw my ginormous coupon binder he knew I wasn’t playing around. If your store doesn’t take the coupon (or the person at the register says no) get the store manager to come over. Sometimes a little complaining is all it takes 😉

    • Lana

I thought we were the only family who uses the word ginormous-LOL!

  23. Heather

I don’t spend near this much, but I know of a family with 6 kids who does spend over $100, so I printed out 2 coupons and will pass them on. Here in the Midwest/Great Plains, a gallon of 2% milk is $3.59, so this is a great coupon.

  24. Debra

i like all the ideas from you creative, Hip couponers! I have a question — my coupon says “$100 of Groceries.” Does a desk and oil and stuff count toward your total? i can see my cashier at Meijer saying that non-grocery purchases don’t qualify.

  25. Cindy G

I click submit and NOTHING happens. It doesn’t even look like it’s trying to do anything. I spent $115 before coupons this week at Wal Mart for just 2 people, so it isn’t hard to do. Of course after my coupons it was $83. Don’t forget you can combine it with free with purchase or free product coupons to get those totals up.

  26. Coupon Katarina

Notice the coupon says ANY brand of milk. I am SO getting a big gallon or ORGANIC milk!! YAY!

  27. jen

OK – how on earth are you all feeding a family of 4+ on less than $50/week? I’ve always considered myself frugal and have really started getting serious with the coupons with Collin’s site here over the past couple of months. I’m relatively new, but I can’t imagine spending so little at the grocery store – even with coupons. 2 gallons of milk, 2 loafs of bread and a dozen eggs alone puts me over $10. Add another $5 for deli meat and cheese then another $5-$10 on meats because lets face it, I’m not slaughtering my own chickens…then I’ve got about another $5-$10 on fruits and veggies. Maybe once my stockpile grows I’ll see the bill go down. Or maybe I should try to switch to the superwalmart for groceries and see if I notice a difference

    • Shelly

Jen, you’re right – the stockpile is really the key! Right now in my stockpile I have frozen veggies (free after q), many lbs. of rice (free), canned fruit (free), pasta (free), etc, etc. You get the idea. When I can get a great deal, I get enough to last a reasonable amount of time (don’t want it to expire). Today @ Kroger I got free Healthy Life whole wheat bread for free too. I also got free tuna, Yakisoba noodles, Healthy Choice dinners and more. Chicken thighs were on sale so I bought a few packages. I am lucky that I have three computers that I can print coupons from and get several inserts each week. I also order coupons when I know there will be a good deal for that item. I almost NEVER shop @ Walmart. Mine is horrible to coupon users, they don’t double, and their prices are not that great compared to Kroger sale prices. Ok, sorry to be longwinded. Just wanted to say that it is possible! 🙂

    • Summer

Shelly is right – stockpile when things go on sale. I also tend to make numerous transactions when my favorite store has a good sale week to make the most of doubling coupons. I give myself a price point on certain types of items and when a sale and coupons match up right, I stockpile. I have about 20 boxes of (healthy, not sugared) cereal in the basement because I got them for .50-.75 cents per box. I have single serve yogurt and cottage cheese and a ton of frozen veggies in the freezer because they were free after sale and coupons. I buy coupons on ebay once in a while, and I make my meal plans based on what I have in the house. My husband thinks I’m crazy :), but I manage a family of five (including 3 in diapers) plus 2 cats on about $75 per week. We eat pretty healthy too 🙂 Another key point to help me with my budget is finding a local person who blogs grocery deals, essentially doing most of the work for me! My blog of choice puts together a list of many, many deals at my favorite grocery store and includes links to the coupons I need, tells me how to take advantage of the catalina deals, etc.

      • jen

Thanks ladies, I have found some local bloggers with sales here at the grocery stores in the northeast, but they are nothing compared to lists I see for your grocery stores down south! Oh if only I could pick up my whole family and move to a place that isn’t under 6″ of snow until April. I went to the grocery store this morning and spent $62, I thought that was pretty good compared to my usual trips. I’m working on the stockpile and eventually I will get there, unfortunately the only frozen veggie my kids will eat is broccoli, everything else is fresh so that makes a dent. I did great on the markdown shelf this week and I think I may stop in a couple times a week to see what they have for produce when the kids are in school, it really is a huge savings. Thanks again for all the tips, I’ll keep plugging away!
