Alright, so I am finally jumping on the Swagbucks bandwagon! I’m pretty embarrassed to say that I haven’t posted anything regarding Swagbucks and well, from what I’ve heard there are FREE Amazon.com gift cards to be made, so I’m jumping in and am going to start swagging it–whatever that means!

My awesome blogging buddy, Kristin, over at Couponing To Disney educated me on Swagbucks–BIG time!  This post would not be possible without her help, so thank you, Kristen!

Do I have any readers that don’t know much about Swagbucks? If so, don’t feel bad because you’re definitely not alone. I’m right there with ya!

So the first order of business–What is Swagbucks?

Swagbucks is a site that lets you earn Swagbucks (points) by literally just searching the web… something we do on a daily basis anyways! They also have an excellent referral program! If you refer someone over to Swagbucks and they earn a Swagbuck, you will earn a Swagbuck too–up to 100 Swagbucks! So you could potentially earn 100 Swagbucks from each friend you refer! Plus, once you accumulate enough Swagbucks, you can cash them in for various rewards, including Amazon.com gift cards! Yay!

How do you get started?

  • Go here and register on Swagbucks by creating an account
  • You will get 3 Swagbucks just for signing up!
  • After registering, you can immediately start searching for anything you want on the web just by using the Swagbucks search engine!
  • Periodically, while searching, you may see a pop up that says you’ve won anywhere from 1 to 10 or more in Swagbucks. From what I’ve heard, the best time to search is in the morning or the evening.
  • Another way to earn Swagbucks, is by entering the Swagcode that is released almost everyday. This is a special code that you can enter in the swagcode box and you will instantly earn Swagbucks without having to search for them! How do you get this special code? Go to the Swagbucks homepage, click on “Ways to Earn” in the top left, then click on “Special Offers” and then click on the “No Obligation Offers” blue box on the right.

One you get to this page, it will state this:

Welcome to Swag Bucks Special Offers. Sign up for the free money-saving offers you like,
feel free to skip the rest, and find a special swag code reward at the end.

Skip ALL the offers by clicking the skip button or the See Next Offer button beneath the advertisement. Finally after about 7 pages you’ll be awarded with a Swagcode! Enter the code in the box provided on the homepage to see how much you’ve earned.

  • After you’ve earned enough points, you can click on the upper tab labeled “Prizes”.  Scroll down and under the categories section on the left hand side you should see “Gifts and Rewards”–click there. Now you can start scrolling through all the gift cards they have available. The Amazon.com gift card is by far my favorite reward! You can score a $5 Amazon.com gift card with just 45 Swagbucks, so literally in a month (possibly less) you could earn a $5 Amazon.com gift card!

I am so excited to start using Swagbucks on a daily basis! I’ve heard from other bloggers and readers that they were able to pay for all of their Christmas presents last year by using Swagbucks! Can you beleive that? They had earned so many Amazon.com gift cards, that the gift cards covered the full cost of their purchases! With that being said, my goal this year is to pay for all of my Christmas presents with gift cards I’ve earned through Swagbucks! I’m so excited about this challenge of mine and I hope some of you are up for the challenge too!

If you are already using Swagbucks, then please let us know your thoughts below! And if you’re new to Swagbucks, I’d love to hear if you’re going to start swagging with me!

(Thanks again, CouponingToDisney!)

I just want everyone to know that although swagbucks is AWESOME, it has some bad deals in there, too. The only one I’ve stumbled upon so far is trading in your old game console.. I have an old Playstation 2, worth 45 swagbucks which is equal to a $5 amazon gift card… But I’m pretty sure I can get a little more than $5 just selling it on the internet.. Also, it’s great to recycle old cell phones, but check ebay and search other places on the net(using the swagbucks search engine 😛 ) for people that BUY old and broken cell phones **look for your exact type of cell phone + model # ** and sometimes people will buy them, ESPECIALLY newer ones, like iphones(3g or 3gs), blackberries, etc etc etc… The other option is that if you’re not electronically challenged and have the time and a little bit of extra $ (it will DEFINITELY pay itself off, though!!) YOU can start buying old and broken cell phones**again, esp. new ones** for cheap, then you can get the parts and tools for them for cheap, then go to youtube.com and look for how to fix them…. so easy!!

I signed up for netflix on the special offers to get 713 points and I never recieved them. Does anyone know how this works?

    • KarenJeane

So did I. Just last week. The offer was also supposed to be a free month of Netflix but now the offer I have says 2 weeks. Did you ever find a resolution?

    • tinfoilball

I have never recieved points for the offers in that catagory, most of the surveys wont download properly and I find it is due to having a mac and using a google bar
I cant even get the widget yet. Cant wait till they serve all computer users!

Swagbucks is great for certain things..Like survey’s or offers.. So far i’ve made $100 in 5 dollar gift cards. Obviously this took a while to do. It’s not going to replace having a job. But If you already use a search engine a lot you might as well sign up to swag bucks and use their search engine.

The survey’s they have aren’t hard. Some are actually kind of fun. I’ve filled out a few having to do with video games. and since I love video games it was actually kind of fun…Some survey’s are pretty boring. Only do survey’s if you gotta a little extra time on your hands.

Offers are the best in my opinion. Some offers are as simple as singing up to another website and you get swag bucks. I recommend not using you’re actual email address because some of these sites will spam you. Personally I love the block buster, game fly, netflix offers. It’s as simple as signing up for a free trial or a discounted trial and you’ll receive anywhere from 300-600 swag bucks…You spend a little money on a trial and you get enough swag bucks to redeem for an amazon gift card..That’s cool..You spend a little money and get some back + the service you signed up for. Anyone who’s not sure if they should sign up……..Take it from me…..It works and it’s not a scam. But remember..It’s not a job. It’s really just for fun. Swag bucks is really about earning small prizes and collectibles..

I’m a little lost on the swagbucks idea…i signed up tonight and so far have earned 76 sb…all the comments say that 45sb earn you a $5 amazon card but when on the website it says that it cost 450. Can anyone tell me has the amount changed or what am I missing? Thanks!

i just joined..i know im late..lol i am still learning..and from what read..most say that you can get the $5 amazon gift card after 45 sb…i was checking on it and it says 450 for the gift card.. i thought it is easy to get the 45sb then after i saw that it is 450sb..i think thats pretty tough to reach.

Sometime within the last year SwagBucks changed their program and multiplied all the Swagbucks times ten. So, what was 45 swagbucks is now 450 swagbucks. Nothing really changed except that it sounds a lot more exciting to win 10 swagbucks than 1 swagbuck. The 450 SB mark really isn’t that hard to reach. Watch videos, do surveys, do free offers, etc. I’ve already earned four $5 gift cards this month and my husband has earned three and we just started at the end of January!
