I have actually not done too much couponing at Ulta and I’d be curious to hear your experience. Have you found it to be pretty easy to use manufacturer coupons there? Does your transaction go smooth when you stack an Ulta coupon with a manufacturer coupon? Let us know!

(Thanks for the heads up on these deals, Emily!)

Can you use printable manufacturer coupons at ulta?

  2. wendell

I have wondered why you never posted deals for Ulta–it is the store that I started to learn about stacking coupons! I have never had a problem using 2 manufacturer’s coupons in a buy one get one free deal. I have also been able to stack the Ulta store coupon with manufacturer coupons. The only thing to be careful of is to check that the sale prices and buy one get one sales come up at the register. They have gotten better, but I still catch mistakes every so often.

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Where do I find the $3.50 off $10 coupon?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

if you sign up you get them in the mail. they always send 20% off ones to.

  4. Sonya

I LOVE ULTA!!!!!!! Remember to use the Ulta coupon first, then hand over the man. coupons. I have never had a problem stacking. Was planning a trip there this week anyways, can’t wait. Would LOVE some more Ulta deals on here 🙂 Thanks Collin!!

  5. Grateful Guest

The $3.50 of $10 is on the front page of the weekly ad. However, my Ulta will not let you “stack” the coupons in the manner suggested. They require a $10 purchase total after mfg. coupons to use the $3.50 off $10. At my Ulta the best that I could do is to get products for $6.50.

So if you bought three products for $7 each and the total was $21 minus the get one free when you buy two the total would be $14.00. I don’t think they will let you use a coupon on the free one, but this I’m not sure off. If you tried this with 3(2.50) coupons, your subtotal would be 6.50, and my store would not let me use the 3.50 off ten because the subtotal is below $10.00.

If others can stack the coupons in the manner suggested, I love to know so that maybe it would be worth it to try another Ulta.

there is a swagbucks code out now, it is active ubtil 6:30 PM PST Check your Swidget and you will find the code, it is for 1 SwagBuck

  7. Kristin R

If you go to ulta.com and look up their ad, you should be able to print the $3.50 off coupon from there! I have done it several times before.

  8. Cindy G

Collin, I think your math is off. You said the free one off was $11.98. If you buy 2 and get 1 free at $5.99, the free one is $5.99 off, unless the deal is buy 1 get 2 FREE!!!!!!!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Cindy G,
Collin’s math is correct. It’s just may have been how you read it. She is saying you buy 2 and get 1 free. $11.98 is the amount for 2 products you will be buying.

      • Cindy G

        Oh dah!!!!

  9. Stephanie

Normally no problem with coupons at Ulta. I’ve got some great deals there previously.

  10. Jamie

I always have trouble with coupons at Ulta. They never let me use a regular Ulta coupon with any other coupon.

    • Andrea

I’m sure there’s one at a mall near you. That’s the only place I’ve ever seen them? Usually at bigger malls. Try http://www.ulta.com and locate a store there 🙂

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks! Almost all of them are in Chicagoland area and I am way south of that, but there is one near St. Louis so I may have to check it out if I ever get over that way.

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Curious……Where are can I find an Ulta? I’m in central Illinois and have never heard of it.

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My Ulta is the same as Greatful Guest…they don’t mind me stacking coupons but my total will have to be $10 AFTER them to use the $3.50 off $10 from Ulta…still makes for some good deals though

    • Sonya

Have you ever tried handing over the Ulta coupon, then smiling and pulling out the others after she has scanned it? I have had no problems, but sometimes cashiers can get a little confused with coupons as well. I kindly hand over my Ulta coupon, hen my others and nothing ever beeps and they go thru and work. Hope that helps.

  13. sandra

I used to work for ulta and. your total purchase WITH the man. coupons has to be $10 before they will use their 3.50 off.

    • J

Since you’ve worked at Ulta can we use a manufacturer coupon on the FREE item?

  14. Cassidy

Recently I bought 2 L’oreal eyeliners, L’oreal eyemakeup remover, 2 L’oreal mascaras, and 1 L’oreal foundation for $14 @ Ulta because they had BYGO, I used manuf. coupons and an ulta $5 off coupon with no problems. I always stack coupons, and they have their own coupon book that I use manuf. coupons in addition to.

  15. jen

live in northern il. our Ulta will not let you use man qs on free items and they make you use man q first and your total needs to be $10 b/4 you can use the Ulta q. I use to shop there all the time b/4 I started “couponing” and stopped going because they were so finicky about the coupons I had. I might just call first and see if they will honor Qs on free stuff b/4 I make a trip there….maybe they now have become coupon friendly!!

  16. Missdeally

I had no problems stacking coupons at Ulta. In fact I did the Olay Quench deal there. I used bogo lotion and a 5 off $10 purchase coupon and got them both for $1.99. Then submitted for a $12 rebate

  17. Jessica P

I have only one ulta in my area of KS and they are really mean to me! I did one deal where it was BOGO free of the vibrating l’oreal mascaras. and there was a high value coupon $4/1 I think off each one. I tried to use both, but they told me it couldn’t happen. After letting them know that it doesn’t state that in their coupon policy (front of the store) they said they’d let me do it this *one* time but that they’d stop doing that in all other future transactions. It was soo embarassing. I had also bought some other items (like clearanced lipsticks, and some falsies) which got me well over the $20 total, and when I handed them the $4/20, the cashier told me I couldn’t use it since I had already used two other coupons. It made no sense to me. I vowed to not go back there ever again. I now shop at Sephora or CVS to buy my stuff. There’s no need to get hassled with Ulta when I can get better service at other places.

*P.S. Collin, your button to submit these comments is blank… There’s no “submit” wording within the form guidelines. Just wanted to let ya know!

  18. Kathy

I have used coupons at Ulta for a long time. I stack them. This is the only place I buy my make-up. With 3 girls in the family, I am always buying make-up. I usually wait for BOGO then I really make out. They are really good about coupon use. I walked out of there with only spending around $5.00 and had a bag of goodies.

  19. Grateful Guest

I’ve tried handing them the 3.50/10 coupon first, then the manufacturer’s coups, but no go at my Ulta.

I’ve always thought Ulta “could” be a great deal, but it has never worked for me. I do “however” buy L’Oreal foundation and have found this to be the cheapest route to go even with the restrictions because they routinely have BOGO Free on L’Oreal plus manf. $2 or $3 coupons plus the $3.50 off 10. This is the best deal even with having to buy 10.00 after coups. CVS and Walgreens has never been cheaper, ever. In addition the foundation I use is 14.99 at CVS/Wags and it is 12.99 at Ulta.

This is what I understand from the comments so far:

*Former store employee says official policy is must have $10 after coupons to use the $3.50?
*Some people have been able to get their stores to stack manufacturer’s after the $3.50/10 but this is not the policy
*Not clear on this, but it seems you can not use a coupon on the “free” item according to fellow responders.

    Does this sum it up?

  20. sofia

Yesterday, I used the 20%off entire purchase from the ad and stacked it with manufacturer’s coupons and it was fine. But the lady was mean and said I couldn’t use manf. coupons on clearance items! BUT LOOK AT THE CLEARANCE SECTION! There are max factor items on clearance. On them, they have peelies for 2 dollars off any covergirl product. because max factor will not be available in the US anymore. But if you don’t like “stealing” peelies, buy the max factor stuff and you still get 2 dollars off!

But it depends on who your cashier is – they might say the coupons won’t work on clearance stickered items. even though there might be clearance items without stickers on them! ahhh it drove me crazy.

  21. pattil24

Ulta also has a buy 2 get 1 free on Loreal which can be stacked with the Loreal coupons. Makes for some pretty inexpensive mascra, foundation, etc.

  22. Sandi

My ad also came with a coupon for 20% off entire purchase. Also, the O.P.I. nail polish is on sale B2G1 and there were $1/1 (?) Q’s in the inserts 2 wks ago

  23. Rachel

I just went to my Ulta and they said they dont accept printed coupons!!!! anyone know EXACTLY what the Corporate policy says???? PLEASE HELP!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i called the corp. office… they werent sure as to what the policy is either!!! i was told they are going to call me back… will keep you all updated.

  24. joan

Hi what zip code are you using for coupon.com ? i can not find the john frieda coupon. Thank you for your help.

  25. marissa

Has anyone done utla coupon shopping in vegas?? I want to try this store out, but mean cashiers totally ruin my day. Anyone know how they are here??

  26. Amber

I can’t find the coupon on coupons.com either…maybe it disappeared now that it’s a new month?

  27. HRL

I used to work at Ulta, and there is no problem with stacking coupons! We accepted any and all! 🙂 Even when they say they exclude “prestige make up items” such as BareMinerals, Urban Decay, etc. we can use them!!

  28. Emily

Went to Ulta today and scored 3 JF Luxurious Volume Products for 5.99 each and 2 Maybelline XXL Mascaras for 7.99 each. Used 3-$2.50 off JF Lux Vol, 2-$2 off Maybelline Eye Studio and the 3.50/10 Ulta q. My total was 9.70. Woo Hoo! FYI, several of the JF products had $1 hangtags on them as well in case you weren’t able to print more than 2.

The Ulta’s in Austin have always been q friendly.

Thanks for posting my suggestion, Collin! : ) Would love to see more Ulta deals in the future as well.

  29. Tiffany

My Ulta definitely is not coupon friendly. They only let me use one JF Luxurious Coupon because the coupon says “limit on coupon per purchase on specified item.” I was not happy. I should have told them to forget it because I still ended up paying $6.21 for 3 of them. The only good thing is two of the shampoos came with travel size conditioners.

Any suggestions on what I should say if this happens again?

  30. TinaOswego

I went to Ulta in Yorkville, IL today and got 40.00 dollars worth of product for only 8.45, plus got 2 sets of freebies from a grand-opening sale (each set has 4 neat items) that’s almost 80 percent savings (not counting the freebies). YAY fun. They were incredibly busy (opening day sale) and incredibly polite and helpful.

  31. TinaOswego

the freebies, TWO of each of the following:

    $4.75 OPI nail polish
    $2.00 KMS Hairstay gel
    $3.00 VaVa Vanilla handcream
    $7.00 Ulta eyeshadow

    $33.50 free
    woot-woot !!!

  32. krystin

everytime i try to stack coupons at ulta they never let me use their store coupon for $3.50 or $5 off $10 because they tell me my total is below $10 after my manufacturer coupon. i tried to look up the policy but it is not very specific. i tried to argue with the girl but she just said no my total has to be above $10. how do i get them to let me do this??

    thanks
