can anyone confirm something about safeway’s coupon policy? i just went and found that they have B1G1 sale on oscar meyer’s lunchable sub combo w/0 drink. $1.99 for 2 and hoping to use 2 of $.75 off to make a fatastic deal. but cashier said they can only take one of the printable coupon. not two of the exact same coupon. so i pay $1.25 for 2 which is still a good deal. anyone out there ran into the same issue at safeway before?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here is the link for the safeway coupon policy.
      https://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Coupons-Policy

It does not state that you can only use 1 coupon, but it does state that if the printable coupon gives you more than 50% off of that items value they will not accept it.
I guess its worth a try, just get a non-cranky checker and see what happens. I used the G-Force blu ray coupon in December on the regular DVD and it worked AND I got a case of water, box of popcorn and box of 100calorie snacks for free with it.

      • Kim

Wow, if you read over their printable coupon policy, safeway wont take these Right Guard coupons.

      • Valeriebot

i was able to use one of these at vons (safeway affiliate) last night. but, they were extremely rude and accused me of coupon forgery! after i showed the cashier that my coupons were legit the assistant manager came over and said their policy was only one internet printable coupon per customer per day. riiight.

and on top of that, after my transaction i realized that my two deodorants were not bagged and they accused my husband of stealing them!

      • Meghan

Safeway’s coupon policy “We will not accept Printable Coupons for more than 50% of a product’s value. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off Printable Coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 will not be accepted. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided an advance notice by the applicable manufacturer upon which we will pass the appropriate savings, if any, onto you.”

The product value is what is on the sale before Safeway Club savings.

I keep it with me ALWAYS! https://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Smart-Savings-Tips
“What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean?
To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.”

This tells me the “value” of an item is the shelf price BEFORE discounts. I hope this helps others!

    • Merissa

I tried that senario the other day and the second coupon will not go through. However its still a good deal if your store does doubles because that only makes them .49 each after the coupons and the BOGO sale.

    • Melissa

I was unable to use any of my coupons for these today 🙁 and they were very rude. Just gonna stick to my travel size 🙂

      • DENISE

I am so sorry to hear all of this! My safeway took all of my internet coupons although I did feel like the cashier “turned” on me after I presented them. They all worked for the rightguard. I was going to print more and do it again but I don’t really need any more at this point – need to leave some for others!!

    • pattil24

I had a strange one the other day — the cashier told me that from now on, Safeway wouldn’t accept any internet coupon that wasn’t in color. I told her that I printed in b&w to save money and that if they were trying to prevent fraud people could still photocopy coupons in color. She kinda went quite after that. Seriously?!! Sometimes you just gotta wonder why SOME cashiers are so rude. sigh . . . .

  11. mary

    Did not print for me!

  12. Lori

Printed OK for me. Just used my other coupons tonight at Target and got 2 free trial size!

  13. SjR

Said I already printed on all my computers 🙁

  14. Jackie

So my target would not let me use the coupons for the travel size. the cashier and the manager were so mean and rude to me telling me that i was stealing from them. i told them both i would never shop at that target again!

    • JessicaB

You need to email Target and tell them what happened. They have a very public coupon policy and they do not usually stand for people acting this way. I hate when I come across people that think coupons are stealing. If the manuf. didnt expect you to use it on the travel size they would have put a size exclusion.

      • Jackie

I know, I was so mad. I told them both over and over their policy but they would not listen to me. I wish I would have gotten their names. I might go back in there just to get their names. lol

        • Kari K

my target took the coupons, but were very rude about it… so frustrating… also had rude cashiers at walmart and the grocery store when I presented the coupons… what to do about that?!?!?!

  15. tracy

does anybody know if they sale the travel size ones at wal-mart?

  16. Shelly T.

says I have already printed 🙁

  17. Tresa Beardslee

I could not get this $2 coupon or the ones from Horizon. Why do I have such trouble printing from JAVA?? Am I doing something wrong? Should I just go to Smart Source directly?

  18. julia

i scored 6 trial sizes at target today!!! i’m donating them to http://www.untiljourneysend.org. they help families in medical crisis who are living away from home! thanks for posting this!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Worked for me!

  20. Megan

Went to Walgreens and Target…didn’t have trial size. I didn’t have the energy to go to walmart too…I have the same problem with smart source. None of the really good q’s print for me….

  21. Kelly K

Did not work for me, said I printed already.

  22. Kelly K

If you go over to https://www.rightguard.com/ and click on all star logo, you can print 2 $1.50/1 off any new Right Guard Total Defense 5, not sure about getting it free because it isn’t any kind, but worth a shot

  23. Carly

Got 8 full size for free at Safeway last night, no problems, sorry for those of you that had such crabby cashiers! Mine looked confused, but sent them all through…maybe it helps to go after midnight like I do ( I stop by after work), cashiers seem much more laid back then!

  24. Kgill

I printed this coupon off of SmartSource and Target did not accept it? Anyone else have this problem..The cashier scanned it AND entered the number manually. I had one travel size deodorant and one regular kind of the Right Guard. ALSO, when i first presented the coupon to the cashier, she was like “oh, it’s not for trial size” (she hadn’t even read the coupon yet), so i kindly told her that it did NOT exclude trial sizes. She was like “Well, yeah, sometimes for coupons like these, we wont let you get the trial size”…GOTTA love cashiers that wanna make their own stipulations for coupons when they know NOTHING about them!!!…

  25. born2worship

After printing my first coupon on coupons.com, I go back to print a second and its highlighted blue and says “ADDED TO CART” It would not let me print a second. Any one else get this too? This isn’t the first time this has happened this week. Glad for the one coupon I got but was wondering if I was the only one with this issue.

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I used these coupons at CVS yesterday for the trial size, no problem at all.

  27. Lisa

If you are having problems with Safeway and think they need to make some changes, PLEASE EMAIL THEM ON THEIR WEBSITE. I’ve had two bad experiences the past 2 weeks. If everyone emails them, maybe they’ll make some changes.

  28. JessicaB

I just used the coupon at my local grocery store and got 2 for $2 not bad!!

  29. Heather Smith

I just got back from Target and the cashier had to call over a manager because it wouldn’t take my coupons. She told me it was because they were for more than the product. She tried a few times and it would go… so I told her I didn’t want them, but if the rest of my coupons went through (for Johnson’s TRIAL sized shampoo and the soap bars) then I would take them. THEY WENT THROUGH (product .97 coupons 1.00.. hmmmmmmmmmm). I pointed that out to her and she shrugged her shoulders… said she had no idea why the computer wouldn’t take them. I ended up buying 2 at Walmart for $2 after coupon, still not a bad deal.

    • Michelle

their system is set up for them to “verify” that you actually got 2 items per coupon, or 3 or whatever the coupon states is nessesary to use it. In this case you have to buy 2 right guards to get the $2 off. Most of the cashiers have no idea about their systems. Sometimes coupons beep because it may be old packaging and the Q’s don’t match up. Doesn’t mean the Q is no good, they just need to “verify”, Also you may have noticed that the Q’s don’t always come off of the corresponding products. Many Q’s and companies use the same barcodes, so they may end up missmatched. Again, all they have to do is “verify” then push it through. Most of them are not of the highest intelligence, and simply take the “beep” as it being invalid.
