So please keep this in mind as you read the rest of this post; click here for more information about this change.

Normally, new members of Swagbucks earn 3 Swag bucks (will be 30 Swag bucks now) upon registration, but today new members will earn 60 Swag bucks!! Woo-Hoo! In order to take advantage of this awesome offer, new users must click here to register and then complete the “Start a New Account” form; be sure to enter the SwagCode: HIP2SAVE prior to clicking on the “Sign Me Up” button so you get your 60 Swag bucks!! Please note that this SwagCode is case sensitive and will only be active through Thursday, March 4th at 6am PST.

For all of you that are already members of Swagbucks, do not despair!! Throughout the day, Swagbucks will be doing a ton of Swag Code giveaways on their blog, twitter, facebook page, and just for searching the web through Swagbucks… so you will have lots of opportunities to earn FREE Swagbucks! …AND don’t worry, I will keep you updated on all the FREE ways to earn those Swagbucks!

But wait, it gets even better!! Being the 2nd birthday of Swagbucks, I thought that it would be appropriate to give 2 lucky Hip2Save readers a $50 Amazon gift card! You will automatically be entered into this Amazon card giveaway if you previously signed up for Swagbucks through the links provided on this site OR if you have never been a Swagbucks member and sign up for Swagbucks through the link found here. This giveaway will end on Monday, March 1st at 6PM EST (in other words, new members of Swagbucks have until 6PM EST on Monday, March 1st to be entered into this drawing). Thanks, Hip! I just signed up through your link using HIP2SAVE and got my 60 Swagbucks! YAY!

  2. Beverly

OK- I’ll just into using swagbucks today. Got my hip code entered- thanks Collin ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Tro

The current code gives us 7 bucks, which sounds like a lot except that it would only be 0.7 bucks in the old system. By multiplying everything by 10, it allows TSG to give us codes in amounts that seem higher, but in actuality are lower than old $1 SB. S-C-A-M. Not happy about this at all.

    • megan

I KNOW!!! I hate it when programs change and become worse! I don’t think people realize it yet…they’re all excited to get 7 SB’s but didn’t crunch out the numbers. Unless they start giving out more (I don’t see it happening) this program is going to be a lot harder to use. ๐Ÿ™ At least they didn’t completely inflate it like Recycle Bank!

  4. Shanna

Went online this morning & saw I had 1,090 swagbucks & thought what the heck I should only have 109. Clicked on their site & found out what they were doing. WAHOO!!! My sister now has almost 4,000. I’m so liking this. Keep them coming I say. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Sheldon

Shanna, the increase is totally meaningless if they multiplied all the prices by 10. It’s just inflation, not an actual increase in real buying power.

      • anoo

        true.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Susan

I just have to say I’m a bit diappointed by SwagBucks. I was so excited to win 10 SB on a search this am, then saw your post about our account being multiplied by 10. Yeah! Then I went to the SB store, and found that the prize costs have been multiplied by 10 also! So an Amazon gift card that cost 45 swag bucks before now costs 450. Not such a great deal anymore.

    Thanks for all you do.

  6. Cath

Just signed up and put in HIP2SAVE code, still only got 30. Oh well.

    • Amy

Just a thought…isn’t this kind of a way to pay back your appreciation to all of the bloggers who are working hard to bring all these deals to you for free?

      • Ennie

Actually Amy the way we pay back is by clicking on their sites and ads. In case you did not know they do get paid for how many times people visit their site, advertising and what not. So all this other stuff is just a lot of extra. I love Hip 2 Save and I will continue to visit the site multiple times a day and tell other people about it. I was just expressing my opinion, which I do believe is one of my rights. “Freedom of speech”

        • tracy

          Ennie,
Your right, it is their business. So they are only trying to make it profitable for themselves. Don’t you get compensated for the work you do? If they are getting compensated for us clicking on their links and ads and they money from it than that is great. Swagbucks is like a bonus. Would you turn down a bonus where you work?

      • elizabeth

Their appreciation comes from the money they make from all the ads on their site, links to coupons, links to other sites, promotions, etc., etc., etc. It’s not like they’re just blogging out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s a business. Not that I don’t appreciate the blog, I do, and this is not a jab at any blogger. Kudos to them for having the ingenuity to make money at this. But, at the same time, I don’t particularly want them earning bucks for the searches I do, so I don’t sign up under them. I am a little put off by that. Just a personal opinion.

        • Ennie

That is exactly my point Elizabeth. I am not trying to hate on Collin or any other bloggers. I just don’t like the idea of the whole referral. And in the case of Couponing to Disney, she is not as nice as she seems, I have emailed her before also. I am also very happy to help out because Collin has definitely helped me. My whole point is that people don’t really see that bloggers are saving money and as their blogs get bigger, they start making a lot of money. There is one woman who makes so much money of her blog that she and her husband don’t have to work. I think that most people don’t see that just by visiting the blogs daily, you are already helping the bloggers put money in their pocket. Again, I love Hip 2 Save and Collin. I will continue to visit and recommend the blog. Thanks for all you do Collin.

        • Amy

Actually, I am completely aware that they make money from advertising…again, at no cost to you. I was also expressing my freedom of speech…and was just letting you know that I didn’t think it was very cool of you to call out a person by posting a link to another blog or other bloggers promoting swagbucks and asking for you to link from their site. Freedom of speech works both ways…lol!

    • A

The whole point to Swagbucks is earning swagbucks! If people didn’t promote it others would never know about it!! They take the time to post this stuff for readers, why not get rewarded!! They ONLY get points when you SEARCH and win, not when you enter a code (that they direct you to)!!

    • Stephanie

If I wasn’t already signed up I would sign up through Hip – she deserves the referrals. She doesn’t ask much from us or promote stuff like other blogs do for her own benefit. I know I’ve bugged my friends trying to get referrals (only 2 so far), so give her a break. Love you Hip!

    • tracy

Please don’t knock Couponing to Disney. She works very hard on that blog. She even takes time to email you back if you ask her something. You don’t have to sign up under anybody if you don’t want to, it’s a choice. The amount of time that Collin and they other woman that write these savings blogs make things a little easier for us. Why not help them out if we can?

      • Amy

Exactly my point, thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

        • couponmom1231

Does anyone see the hard work she puts into the site?? The free things she gives out?? The traveling to peoples home towns giving them money to shop?? She doesn’t ask us for money or anything to contribute to the prizes or traveling or the work she puts into the follow me mondays? She if she makes money threw us good for her. Glad to help.

          • Len

Hello, she is giving things away only because now she has more money. She would not be giving anything away if she did not have extra. Every time she has a giveaway hundreds of people visit the site so in return she make even more money. I know she is giving away because she is a nice person. The truth is that every time she gives more people come to the site. The more succesful the blog the more advertisers and others are willing to pay.

    • Erin

I understand what you’re saying, Ennie. I read the post you mentioned and it did seem a little mercenary, but at least she admitted why she pushes Swagbucks so hard. I don’t care for her tone (doesn’t really seem genuine about “loving” her readers so much as scoring new referrals), so I wouldn’t sign up through her. However, I don’t mind supporting websites in this way when I get a lot of value from them–and when the blogger isn’t shoving their pet project down my throat (without acknowledging why they do so) to the exclusion of real deals. So for that reason I was torn between this site and Southern Savers, both great sites, and neither of which seems to be a shill for Swagbucks. I ended up going through this site because I realized that I’m checking in here all day long nearly every day because there’s such a variety of deals and it’s constantly being updated. Plus, I feel like Collin truly does love her readers and gets such a kick out getting hot deals out there. So, to each his own, but I’m happy to support quality sites that provide such great deals–and entertainment. (One of these days, I’m gonna win one of those lemon shirts! Then again, maybe Collin will post a great deal on tees and I’ll make my own bootleg version! ; 0 )

  7. Aditi

    thnx for doing this giveaway

  8. Tonya

Lovin’ this bday thing. Usually i win only 3-4 swagbucks a day. Today I’ve earned 60! So 6 in the old swagbucks ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. April Van Zee

I’ve just started doing swagbucks…….it gets kind of addicting after awhile! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Kate

    Thanks for doing this giveaway!
I gotta say though – this new Swagbucks thing is actually not good – they are giving away LESS than before, but making people THINK its more….read carefully folks, Swagbucks actually have less value now, and it will take you longer to accumulate. Its sad the people are dazzled by the larger numbers, and completely miss what is actually happening.
Oh well, I will still Swag, just kind of lost its luster for me.

    • Brenda Lindstrom

Well I’m with the other posters on this one….was excited until I checked out the prices in the Swag store, what was 45 is now 450. Knew it was to good to be true ๐Ÿ™

  11. tjlaurenmarrow

I don’t really see what the big deal is, everything is multiplied by 10, so it’s not like anything has changed. Of course the rewards will be multiplied by 10 too!

    • Tro

Today they gave out a $7 swag code. Do the math, yesterday that would be worth .7 we are getting less, much less.

  12. mamabear

so, not impressed with all this hoop-la, nothing great about it… ๐Ÿ™

  13. Tina

Wait wait wait. Why did they change it?? I don’t get it?

  14. Shell

I too am not happy about the change. I got 7 swagbucks for the fb code today. Under the old system, that is less than 1 ๐Ÿ™ There was no reason to change except that sometimes we will now get less and that sux!

    • Shell

Commenting on my own comment now lol! I was just looking around swagbucks and now I see that special offer amounts have changed too. The eharmony video was 1 swagbuck and now it is 6. That is almost half as much! I don’t like this ๐Ÿ™

  15. Missy

AHHH our favorite mommy bloggers need to be honest about the change and not make it sound like it is a BENEFIT to us, no one is benefiting from this change.

  16. Anastasia

Yep, pretty lame. Collin, they should put you in charge of Swagbucks since your giveaway is better than anything they’re doing!

  17. Courtney

I was super excited when I logged on this morning and saw I had 630 and then I learned it was really only 63 x 10! But I did just win 30 searching Hip2Save!! I signed up through a link on your page about a month ago but I didn’t see anywhere to enter a code! I hope you got the points for the referral!!

  18. danielle

Decided today to jump on the swagbucks bandwagon!! Thanks for the info Collin!!!

  19. Summer

Just signed up and already have 80 swagbucks! I have a feeling I’m going to spend too much of my day trying to earn more swagbucks. ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Susan V.

Maybe we should wait and see what happens throughout the day…the *real fun* doesn’t start for a couple of hours. We may all be surprised! =]
    Positive thinking guys-c’mon!!

  21. Cath

Just signed up for Swag Bucks…not crazy about their search engine. I know it says powered by google or whatever, but if I search for Hip2Save, for example, it comes up 4th or 5th under Swagbucks, and first when I just go to google. Annoying.

    • Erin

I hear you–there’s lots of useless, spammy junk sites to wade through before you get to any useful search results. Not sure Swagbucks is for me, but I’ll give it a trial for a week or so.

    • Suzanne

But isn’t that the case with Google too? I’ve never understood the big oh and ah over Google since they put up whoever pays the most, not the most relevant entry 1st! I still prefer Yahoo – they put them in order of relevance.

      • Erin

I never have any problems with Google. Type hip2save into the browser, and it’s the first site that comes up. With Swagbucks, it was fourth. The first several sites are clearly advertisements. They say something like “sponsored by . . . ” underneath. These sites are clearly just advertising.

  22. wagold2

i just finally signed up! Can’t wait to earn some swagbucks!

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have such a hard time with this site ๐Ÿ™ . the sign in box is always popping up, and wont recognize me???

  24. danielle

i think the new swagbucks will work out to be better, i just think change takes time…i’ve already got 27 sb today, normally i would get 2-3 a day, so it is the same as before. i do not have referrals, no one i know wants to sign up. i think people are freaking out because they have not seen how the new swagbucks will work for them. if it gets harder to redeem prizes, like Mypoints, then I will stop using it…but for now, i am giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping it works the same.

free is free and swagbucks is helping me pay for gifts..if i only get 2 $5 amazon gift cards a month, i am happy, that is $120, a year, i dont have to spend on gifts.

  25. Brad

    Woo hoo…free stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have already signed up for Swagbucks a year ago so I can’t give Collin my referral. I would if I hadn’t signed up already. I love Swagbucks, but I also don’t really see what is so great about them multiplying them by 10. All of the prizes cost more swagbucks now so I don’t see why this is so exciting. I am excited about their Birthday and having more chances to win swagbucks though. Thanks for reminding us that it is their birthday!

  27. Megan

I signed up for swagbucks before Collin got on the bandwagon. Wish I would have known about the referrals back then. Would have loved to give her something back as a thanks for all the money she’s helped me save!

  28. Amanda

It kind of stinks that you can’t get in on winning a giftcard if you signed up for swagbucks before Hip2Save offered referral!! Oh well, maybe next time I guess!

  29. Martina

It’s like a game, to see how many points you can win! Love it, makes my work day more interesting:)

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks collin, now if i could only remember my password lol!!

  31. Christi

    I heart Swagbucks!

  32. Terri

I am wondering if Iam the only one having problems with Target. Everytime I go in there they make me feel like I am looking for a handout, because I pay with coupons. They are nice until I take of the coupons. They always have problems with my coupons.

    • danielle

i know what you mean Terri, lately all my Target coupons won’t scan, even the ones from their products ( like meat), says the items isn’t there… i have certain cashiers I look for now and checkout with, i will wait longer for them, because they just laugh when they scan the coupon and it says not there.

  33. anon

I’m a swagging fool and really only have one referral who isn’t all that active. I’ve won two $5 Amazon cards just from searches and special offers. LOVE getting something for nothing! ๐Ÿ™‚

  34. AMBER M.

I finally got my daughter in law to sign up for swagbucks through you i am so glad thanks to you!!!!!!

  35. Beverly

I feel like Collin has saved me so much money that if I sign up for swagbucks and it helps her in anyway then I’m all for it. Why would I not want to do that for her???

    • Len

Very true but while you save dollars she makes hundreds.

  36. MandaKay

Just signed up Collin – thanks!

  37. Angel

Hoping to earn more for searches today on Swagbucks. I usually get 2-4 depending on the day. I have gotten a couple already today so maybe at least the b-day celebration will help my totaly along.

  38. Rachel B.

It’s like winning the lottery. This is so awesome! I just won 8 swag bucks a couple seconds a go and yelled really loud. I think my third grade students thought that I had lost it ๐Ÿ™‚ I love winning things.

    • Anon

Is that what you do while our students are in your class???

  39. Angie

I just won 30 swag bucks! That’s the most I ever earned on a search, usually it’s just 1 (or now 10.) Maybe the searches will start earning more bucks!

  40. Dee

If I wasn’t already signed up, I would sign up under Collin’s referral. I heart swagbucks!

  41. Sunny

Swagbucks is HOT this morning. I have been getting a lot of swagbucks just while searching the internet. I’m so excited.

  42. Tricia

I’m becoming very Hip saving lots of mula today. Just signed up for Swagbucks. Bring on the swag points, baby!

  43. brenda

I think I’ll be checking out this Swagbuck site today on my SNOW DAY from work!!!

  44. missy

When did the amazon e-cards go up to 450 swagbucks? Don’t know if it is worth it at this point if you still only get a one or two swagbucks a day.

  45. Christy

I did a swag search this morning and won 20 swagbucks. I was so excited I called my husband at work to let him know about my accomplishment only to find out that there is a new system and it was the equivalent of winning 2 swagbucks. Don’t get me wrong I am happy to win 2 swagbucks, but I had thought that I was on my way to serious gift cards.

  46. tracy

I took a couple of minutes and read the blog on the Swagbucks site. They will be releasing up to 4 codes a day now. They will also be letting us know about 2 new ways to earn swagbucks. Even though anything under 10 Swagbucks is now less than 1 swagbuck was before, there should be many more chances to win throughout the day. I think the new system is supposed to actually help you earn more on your own, as opposed to relying on referrals. I am a person who hates change, but this might not be as bad as it seems at first glance. ๐Ÿ™‚

  47. Faith

I love Swagbucks… I just got my Starbucks giftcard in the mail. Yay for free coffee! ๐Ÿ™‚

  48. thriftydivaclr

I will be swagging today until my fingers fall off.. lol

  49. Shari

Thanks for the tip about Swagbucks. My whole family searchs on there now to earn swagbucks
