You can usually find these travel size games in the luggage section or on endcaps in the toy section. These would be perfect games to throw in an Easter basket! (Thanks, Debra & Stacy!)

These were clearanced a while ago at my Target.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Mine too for about 2-3 dollars. I still have 6-8 that I bought before Xmas with coupons.

  2. brenda

I tried to purchase this at Walmart for $5.24, but it wouldn’t take the coupon and the cashier wouldn’t put it in by hand, so I said No thank you! I also found a pad of rebates for Hasbro games where you can get $2 – $3 back on certain games (including Hungry Hungry Hippos, Connect 4, Bop It, etc.). This rebate makes the coupons sweeter, and even a moneymaker! I’m putting together a Family Game Night basket for a basket raffle for our upcoming walk for Autism.

    • Annette Russo

What are you putting in it? I would love to hear how you are doing this with some coupons! I do a fundraiser in memory of my daughter and we get a lot from businesses, but I always add to them to make up “baskets”. Now that I have started couponing, I have been trying to add to baskets on the cheap. The silent auction is going to be great and people don’t even know that I have been using coupons on name brand things!!

    • Amanda

Where did you find the rebates at?

      • Brenda

Amanda ~ The rebate is at Toys R Us, and only for games purchased at Toys R Us. I didn’t realize that until another reader alerted me to that fact.

Annette ~ I’m putting in it the Monopoly game, Bop It, Connect 4, a handheld video game I found on clearance for $5, a combination Chinese checkers/checkers/chess sets, a craft set I found on clearance at AC Moore, probably some snacky things like Chex mix (or whatever I have a coupon for), and a card game I found on clearance. I’m still on the hunt for some other things I have coupons for! It will be a nice basket when I put it all together, but I didn’t spend a lot of money on it!

    Thanks for the heads up!

  4. Stevie

I couldnt find this or connect 4 anywhere at Target.
    I will try walmart.

  5. renee

Found them ay my walmart. Great deal.

  6. kiesha

same thing happened to me as the other viewer…walmart would not accept it after the coupon beeped and then said it has to be the exact game of the picture on the coupon….which i know was bull but whatever, ill try target!

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I too tried to use the coupon at Wal-mart, but cashier said it wasn’t the same as in the picture.

  8. Kaye

I found the Hungry Hippos @ my WM for $5.24. My cashier also had a hard time w/ the coupon but put it through. I also used Monopoly (bought the card game) and Connect 4 (travel size) Q’s in the same transaction – not the exact games shown on the Q. I’m wondering why we’re all having a hard time w/ the HHH? On another note, I heart the Hasboro Q’s – I’ve gotten some really good deals w/ them. I’m still on the look out for a marked-down Baby Alive! LOL

  9. Jennifer

I just got this game at Walmart tonight for $5.24 with $4 off coupon so made it $1.24! It beeped for me too, but I got a good cashier who just put it in manually. I also got travel size Connect Four for the same price!

Can someone help please? How do I find what I have in my Riteaid SCR already? I entered my John Freida purchases for the SCR’s, and it isn’t showing anything else, but I have 2 confirmation emails from RA for the Veet, and for the Pullups. Thanks in advance. 🙂

    • Kirsten

Log into your SCR account. In the March section you can click on Show Details. Some receipts take longer than others to go through.

  11. Katie Andrews

Found it for 5.24 at my walmart and the cashier wouldnt take it so I went to customer service where she wouldnt take it either so I got my refund and my coupon and will try Target

Same thing happened to me last night…the coupons beeped and my cashier wasn’t going to give them a second look. She just handed them back to me without a word. I didn’t want to make a scene so I just told her I didn’t want the games then.

I always had goodluck with coupons at target, the one closer to my house, which we have a few in driving distance, but the one closest to my house was a pain the other day when i went to target. I just think it’s the cashiers, i always have problems with the younger people at registers, they have no idea what they are doing. And to make matters worse the supervisor or whoever they are, came up and didn’t accept some of my coupons, they where looking at my coupons like it was monoply money. They didn’t accept my $1 off reach dentel floss coupon. I tried to tell them all they have to do is take of $0.97 cents, but they where not even trying to listen to me. They also wouldn’t take my $4 off mvp razor coupon, which was a gillete coupon, they kept going by the picture on the coupon, even though the coupon says clearly “ANY”! IT I S FRUSTRATING when they dont know how to use or read coupons. I think every store should teach their employees about coupons and how it works. Maybe we can get all our lovely blog ladies to come together in every city/town and go out to all our stores and have a coupon takeover. I’m sorry but i take my time out of my days to sort/clip/ & find these coupons & deals. And not to mention my gas to drive to their stores. Not to mention kids & getting them ready is time consuming. It makes me upset when you have to stand at the register, and have them hold up the line, and then call for help & then have 2-3 people coming to the register like it’s a game of figure this out. I wouldn’t mind if someone could bring me a chair with a drink, with one of those straws & umbrellas, while i wait for these people to figure it out, cuz me explaining it never works. I’m sorry to be so brutually honest, but i wish stores knew their own polices & i wish more that they would practice them. I think we need a coupon tour takeover. I think this should be mandatory for every store in the U.S.A! and AMEN to that. 😉

    • jamie e.

      Amen sista! 🙂

      • Nicole

THANK YOU! I know alot of people understand what i said cuz they probly have been in the situation, maybe more then once. I don’t mean to be funny or silly, but i’m fore-seeing groups of ladies all suited & booted, rallying with their coupons. Like a march down target, walmart, etc. Singing “Heck no we won’t go, our coupons are good to go!” lol 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

so true, thanks for the laugh!

    • Antonia

I know all the stores in my area are all different about taking coupons it varies from cashier to cashier and manager to manager. If one store says no I just go to another store. The other day I had 18 $3.00 off coupons that said buy (2) 1.7oz or larger old spice body washes and I was buying 36 that cost .97. I tried to tell the cashier that she needed to mark down the coupon because it was going to go negative and they were going to owe me money she said “well then I’m just gonna have to owe you money” “that’s how we do it here” I was shocked when the manager came over to do the key turn and just let them give me money back but after trying to explain it again I figured there was no point in continuing to try and tell them they weren’t folowing their policy so I just took my “change” and left. AS far as target I called their customer service number and they said if you call while you are in the store they will help you with redeeming your coupons. Their number is 1-800-440-0680 hope this helps.

    • Leyla

Exactly!! I hate it when I am so excited about deals and then have it ruined by cashiers(and managers) not knowing their own coupon policy. Is it that hard to remember??

  14. Michelle

I also had trouble with the Hasbro coupons at 2 different Walmarts near me, so I told them I’d go to Target, as I haven’t had a problem there. The manager at one Walmart told me that sometimes Internet coupons just don’t work (and now I know they can put them through by hand if they want to) and the other manager insisted that it needed to be what was in the picture. So I haven’t tried to go back to Walmart – figure it’s not worth the time to go there if they aren’t going to take any of the coupons.

  15. Lynne W

This “picture” excuse really gets to me especially with coupons that clearly state “any size” or “any blah blah product”. I had a Blah Blah Product Q and the cashier and floor manager wouldn’t let me use it for a deoderant – it states any product in that particular line so it could be deoderant, shampoo, conditioner – we couponers really need to complain to the store and to the manufacturer for clear, concise coupon use directions.

  16. Courtney W

I haven’t had any problems using my coupons at target (thankfully) & I was able to get Travel size battleship free since it was marked as $4.99 but rang up $1.24 at Super Target & all of the electronic handheld games (battleship & connect 4) were $2.74 so those were free as well! nothing like a free easter for the kids. The cashier just adjusted the price on coupons from $3 & $4 to the price the games rang up for

  17. Sarah

I had trouble buying the travel size hungry hippos too. And it beeped, so she wouldn’t take it, although the coupon doesn’t state that it excludes travel size… maybe i’ll try target… I wonder what hasbro’s intention was with the coupons. Did they actually mean for us not to be able to use them except for whats pictured? Or did they WANT us to be able to use them for any game with that title…

  18. Amber

So even though the coupon says “hungry hungry hippos game”, it should still work on the travel size ones too? New to this couponing stuff, but games were the one thing I figured had to be full size whether it said so, or not. I knew deodorant and stuff like that would work if it didnt say “excluding travel sizes”, however I didnt realize the rule was the same with games and such.

  19. Karen

I saw the card games at my Walmart on roll back for $4.00.

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I am a long-term cashier at Walmart…and it makes me crazy how uptight some of the ‘higher ups’ get about the coupon policy. I’ll have a customer who spends $100 and they want me to argue about a $1 coupon??? Give me a break. If it doesn’t beep, I take it. If it does beep, I’ll usually still take it (within reason). The thing is lately they higher ups have put the fear of God in us about taking coupons or matching competitor prices. Somewhere along the line someone forgot about customer service!!!

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

By the way, I had been accepting those coupons and using them…and now they’re telling us that we can’t because it isn’t the one that is pictured. Ugh. A lot of times the pictures don’t match!

  22. Ida

Well if they Rite Aid is going to follow the rule of only whats pictured, as I have read on savingsaddiction with their hand written signs, Then they should except root awankening for rebate #4 (the frizz ease rebate). I bought Root Awakening shampoo for #4 because it is pictured on line and in the paper rebate ad, and they told me it didn’t qualify. I called, they said they would look at it, then last night they replyed with no, so I emailed them back with they are false advertising.I am just going to return it, but it is not right.

  23. :)

OT – but where are the buddies soap in target/walmart/grocery stores??? I did my coupon run last night and couldn’t find it at any store???

    • amy

usually in the baby section where baby wash and baby lotions are, back in the infant departments near diapers, etc.

    • Nan

Our Walmart has the J&J buddies in the bath products, not in the baby area. Doesn’t make sense, but I found them in the same aisle with adult bath soap/wash, near bubble bath.

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I TRIED TO PURCHASE HUNGRY HIPPOS AT WALMART TODAY. IT BEEPED. THEY SAID IT HAD TO BE THE FULL SIZE GAME AND THAT THEY USED TO TAKE THE COUPONS BUT THE CO. REFUSED TO REIMBURSE THEM FOR THEM.

  25. BamaVicki

I hope I can find this deal at my closest Wal-mart. My kids have the larger sized or normal size HH, but this would be great for our trip out West coming up in May. It looks like they can play it w/out the balls falling out or off the cylinder. Also, today, I shopped CVS and bought most all the deals Collin had highlighted like the Oral B toothbrush and then the Nivea lipcare; also, had a BOGO for some Cover Girl makeup. Anyway, I used the coupons I had and was able to use a BOGO for one face CG product, then it actually took a $5.00 coupon that stated, ‘get $5.00 when you buy two Cover Girls products!’ So, I was super excited! That meant I only paid OOP about $4.00 for both products! Reg. prices $8.99 and such. But it gets better as I used some of my ecbs, Wa-hoo~! Then, my total was $2.something for the whole thing! Does not get better than that. For me, at least! Have a great Friday everyone!

  26. abigail@ west bengal travel

Thank you for giving information for the Hungry Hungry Hippos travel size game. Now long dist travel will be interested for all who love to play game.

  27. Rebecca

My target does not have them 🙁

  28. Erin

I believe the game is only $6.99 at Toys ‘R Us for those who can’t find it at their Wal-Mart or Target store.

  29. Kathy Yates

Okay, I have just about had it with Walmart! After yesterday and today, I don’t think I can handle another run in with them over coupons. Yesterday, I went through with my coupons matching every item to a T. When I checked out, the cashier couldn’t figure out why the register said that there was too many coupons and it would not let me complete my transaction. She had to call a manager. We waited over 10 minutes. Everyone in line got mad and went elsewhere. It is sooooo embarrassing to hold up the line anyway with coupons! Finally they told me that I could not get the trial size Tides with my dollar coupon. I told her…fine, I’ll get it somewhere else. Then I had 5 coupons for Free Oscar Mayer Turkey bacon and she said I could only use one! When the manager couldn’t figure it out, she took me to custmer service and had a higher up manager come. They ended up giving them all to me and deducting the coupons. 45 minutes later, I was leaving the store!
Today, I went to another Walmart (thinking it was just that one) with my coupons for the games. I tried to buy two of each one. (Connect 4, Hungry Hippo and Monopoly) I got the Connect 4 and the HH, but no monopoly. The other coupons beeped and she wouldn’t take them. I told her to just deduct the games back off my bill for the one that would not accept. I will go to Target. Only thing is…..Target didn’t have any of them the other day, but the two Walmarts have those games in stock! I guess I will try to buy one at a time! I need them for my grand children’s Easter Baskets I make them! Darn!

  30. Erica

ok I went to target today and I havent been able to find the travel game, BUT my 2 year old found a HHH playdoh game for 5.99 and since he had been an angel I told him he could have it and I figured i would try to use my hhh coupon, it worked and didnt beep! So my little monster got his game so he was happy and it was only $2 so I am happy! Dont know if anyone is interested, but if you are hopefully you will be as lucky as I was!

    • Bobbi

Ooh, I saw the HHH Play-doh at Target, but I didn’t think the coupon would work for it. Thanks for the info!

  31. Bobbi

My Target doesn’t have the travel-size games and the cashier at Wal-Mart wouldn’t take the coupons for travel-size HHH or Connect Four. I asked if it said “excludes travel size,” and she said the register won’t take them. I told her I didn’t want the games and gave them back. How disappointing!

    • Sadie

My cashier at walmart acted like I was stealing out of her paycheck if I got something for free. The HHH coupons beeped after the manager said they were fine. The cashier stared at me like, see they didn’t work and what are you going to do about it. I said I would take my business to another store that would gladly take my coupons. THE WALMART BOYCOTT is on! They are not very nice to couponers. There are lots of other deals to be had at other stores. TAWANDA!

  32. Michelle

I had a horrible time at a walmart with the hasbro and ended up with nothing, and have had a few issues with the coupons at Target, so I wrote Target telling them the issues some of us were having and just sort of summarized all the issues I have seen. I was quite disappointed when the response back was telling me their coupon policy. Not a single issues was mentioned! I even mentioned cashiers acting as if we were trying to rob them when we were trying to simply use a coupon based on what it said. It is not like you can fit a picture of every gillette item on there so when it says any, it means any!! I was polite in my venting to them, but it fell on deaf ears.
