My Toy Story Shopping Adventure/Fiasco/Victory?!

Hip2Save may earn a small commission via affiliate links in this post. Read our full disclosure policy here.

There are no other people in the world with whom I would rather share my shopping adventures, fiascos, victories etc with than my fellow Hip2Save readers. For this reason, I would like to share with you my latest shopping adventure/fiasco/victory that occurred last night.

Yesterday, I promised my 5 year old son, Ayden, that I would buy the new Toy Story 2 DVD for him if he was extra good (I know, I know…bribery is not the best parenting method but I do use it occasionally). Needless to say, Ayden was extremely well behaved throughout the day so I was very excited to take off to Toys R Us as soon as my hubby came home from work. I literally gave him and the kids a quick kiss, grabbed my coupon binder and ran out the door. I had been craving some bargain shopping all day long!

So I happily drove myself to Toys R Us envisioning all the savings I was going to experience with my coupons and the awesome sale that Toys R Us was offering when you purchase both the Toy Story and Toy Story 2 DVDs together. As soon as I entered the store, I went straight towards the DVD section and to my surprise they seemed to be out of stock. No way, I thought. How could a store advertise such an awesome price and not have a huge supply of the item?! How could they not be prepared? I marched over to the Customer Service desk and was informed that yes, they truly were out of stock… but will be getting more in later. The manager then asked if I was familiar with price matching (I told him just a little ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and suggested that I head over to Target with the Toys R Us ad in hand to price match the DVDs.

OK, I thought Plan B. I jumped back in my car and headed over to Target determined that I would leave with those prized DVDs in hand! I walked in to Target full of confidence and headed right to the movie section where low and behold, I saw shelves full of Toy Story but NO Toy Story 2!! OK, I told myself…they must have it displayed somewhere else? As I stood there with a bewildered expression on my face clutching my Toys R Us ad, a very nice Target employee whispered “We sold out of em’ at noon.” No, I thought…no way! I am not going home without those DVDs.

Now at this point, I could have returned home with empty hands and my 5 year old would have survived. He would have been upset for all of about 5 minutes and then would have forgotten about the whole situation. But no, this was no longer entirely about him. This was about my desire to snag that great deal and I was going to snag it one way or another!

OK, I thought…Plan C. Since I was not prepared to initiate Plan C (let alone Plan B!), I sat in my car for several minutes until I remembered a beautiful vision that I had spotted earlier. On my drive over to Target, I had noticed a banner across a Best Buy store that said “We do price matching.” So begins my Plan C.

I made it over to Best Buy in record time and flew through the doors. I immediately noticed the beautiful (almost glowing) display of BOTH Toy Story and Toy Story 2 DVDs. I quickly discovered why the display was almost overflowing…they were priced at $29.99 each! No big deal, I thought. I still had the Toys R Us ad tucked under my arm…this would be a piece of cake. I scoped out the cashiers (all female) and chose a young and bubbly cashier who I was sure would make this a quick and easy transaction.

Boy was I wrong! As soon as I placed the Toys R Us ad on the counter, she rolled her eyes and here is how our conversation went…

Bubbly cashier: “I hope you are not going to try to price match those DVDs because I know for a fact that Toys R Us is sold out of them.”

Me: “Yes, they are sold out. That is why I am here wanting to price match them.”

Bubbly cashier: “Well, Best Buy will only price match items that are in stock at the competitor’s store. Sorry about that.”

Me: “The whole reason that I came here is because they were out of stock. I am not going to come back here tomorrow when Toys R Us receives a new shipment…I’ll just go to Toys R Us. So if you can’t price match the items for me now, then you are going to lose my business and that seems kinda silly.”

Cashier (not so bubbly anymore): “Well, that’s the policy.”

Me: “I would like to speak with your manager please”

Cashier: “Manager to the front please”

Manager arrives…I explain the situation and like I stated to the cashier, I reinforce that I will be buying the DVDs elsewhere if the price matching is not applied….

Manager: “Go ahead and do the price matching”

Cashier (now shocked)…applies the price matching of $16.99 for each DVD.

I then confidently hand over the 2 $10/1 printable coupons that I have been hiding in my wallet (Although I know that these should be accepted without a problem, I am still nervous that the cashier or manager will refuse to take them and then another battle will ensue).

Cashier: “I can’t take these too”

Manager: “Yes, you can; they are just manufacturer coupons.” (Thank goodness for this manager!)

Finally, VICTORY!

After 2 hours of shopping, I was satisfied as I walked out of Best Buy with those prized DVDs in hand. I was victorious and nothing at that moment felt better! I hope you have enjoyed my little victory story and that it inspires you to stand up for yourself and to be confident and determined to save as well. Good luck to all of you that have yet to purchase these DVDs…hope that you only have to initiate Plan A! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well don’t feel bad I pre-ordered mine last week to get the extra $20 off for pre ordering, and didn’t go to pick them up until 2 on my way to work thinking I pre-ordered them and they would have them waiting for me, since that’s the point of a pre order…..Well was I wrong the guy who got the shipment last night put them all out on the shelf and didn’t put the pre orders backs…….I still ended up with them b/c they had the dvd versions which is basically the same it has the blu-ray in it also just a different case….how silly is the whole situation that they would package the regualr one with the blu-ray so they could charge more for it?? there the same price and contain the same thing. People who just want the regualr dvd don’t want to pay extra for the blu-ray……I know I wouldn’t want too if I didn’t have a blu-ray player

    • Mike

No offense, but you’re probably paying less due to that blu-ray, since it’s 13.98 at Toys R Us and that’s usually the price of just one DVD. It’s actually the blu-ray release, though, the DVD releases are coming out in May, Disney just wanted to make it in both packages so it would match your collections

  2. Teresa

Great story! I purchased mine at Target, but did not know about the price match. The price at Target was $22.99, but if you purchased both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 you get $10 off instanty making them $17.99 each. I used my $10 off coupons and got them for $7.99 each.

  3. Crystal W.

I went to Toys R Us when they first opened yesterday. And I got the last of each of the toy stories. This was because everyone pre ordered and they took this out of the small shipment that they recieved. Then the cashier was trying to tell me that I couldn’t use both of the coupons. I confidently told her that one is for Toy Story 1 and one is for Toy Story 2. And she said that she would try it…And it worked! I also got The Princess and the Frog Combo pack and it came with a free Jewelry box and two matching outfits for my girls and only paid $15.45 after coupons, rebates and free movie ticket offer!!! Love Love Love this site, it has helped me grow so much in my couponing adventures!!!

URGH! Take that you nasty cashier! I hate when then get attitudinal with us and then the manager in shining armour rides in to our rescue. Good for you and I’m so glad you didn’t need a plan D.

  5. tanya

i got mine at target b/c we don’t have a toys r us close by. target was doing $10 when you buy the two so it ended up being almost the same price as the toys r us. I applied my $10 coupons and got the board games too of course, but I aslo had 2 $5 off coupons in addition to the $10 off for the movies.. I asked the cashier if she would try and see if they would ring up. they did! in the end i got the 2 movies (with movie passes!), 3 board games (with free pizza coupons inside) all for $18! it was awesome ๐Ÿ™‚ total savings was over $80!

    • robyn

so what you saying is you used two man. Q’s on one item? just because it worked doesn’t mean you should have done it. and i dont care if that sounds cruel or rude. i think its too bad you took advantage like that.

      • Marlene

I was actually encouraged to do this by Target. Basically if something scans, they are all for accepting it. I even got into a mini-debate with one saying you could not really use 2 for the same, but they insisted.

Now, I am prudent, but not so prudent I am going to pass up a deal endorsed by the store personnel and that they have been doing all day with their managers’ approval.

      • tanya

i asked the cashier to scan it b/ci wasn’t even sure it would work, she said that if didn’t she would let me know and that if it did then it was fine. honetly i have only been doing this for 2 weeks so i’m still learning.. i guess i just assumed that if it worked it was ok. i see your point now but becaue i am just begining i guess i didn’t think of it.

        • robyn

thats kind of what i was trying to say. just because they let you do it, it doesnt make it right. do you use two coupons for EVERY purchase you make? no. and because it didnt beep means nothing. my local rite aid had a lady come in and used over 15 EXPIRED coupons that didnt beep (yes, they were stupid to not notice it.), but it was wrong of her to even try to do that. and i have legitimate coupons at target that DO beep all of the time. and thank you for admitting the “mistake” if you will, and i apologize if i was harsh. i just see so many people try and take advantage and then they complain about all of the “tight, coupon nazis”. well they get screwed over to many times and you cant really blame them.

  6. Valarie

I love this story. I often feel bad after a cashier gives me a hard time, but why!?! I feel inspired!

  7. Allison

Glad I got to Target at 8:30. I was still confusing at Target because they were pricing 1 DVD at 22.99 and the other at something like 10.99. I wanted them each for 16.99 like TRU. So I had to sit there with CS and figure it out. They just took 2 more dollars off of 1 dvd so it worked out the same. They were very good about it even with my 10 off. Corporate must have had a talk with my Target after calling Corp. 6 times. I picked the young guy when checking out 75% of my coupons beeped. he was very nice. Didn’t ruffel througfh the bags and still remained nice after about 10 coupons. I wanted to go back and shop and go through his line again. I don’t understand why the coupons beep when they are for that exact item Like the neosporin and band aids. Back to Best Buy. I posted my ponyo story before but I think it’s so funny I’ll post it again. They had a deal at Best Buy if you buy Ponyo and another DVD by the same director you got 10 off. So my WM didn’t have any so I drove to Best Buy. I called CS and they were holding the Dvd’s for me. So I checked out there. She scaneed them in and I said it took the 10 off right? She said yes! I handed over my 2 10 off coupons. She looks at me and says you can only use 1. The in-store promotion or the coupons. “YOU CAN’t DOUBLE DIP” So I said I wasn’t going to buy them then. So on my way out of the store I talked to the guy up front. He called over the Manager. The Manager said that the coupon was like cash and had nothing to do with the in store promotion. He walked me back to the girl and had her ring me up. With the coupons and in-store promotion. ALWAYS ASK 2 PEOPLE. Even if it is CS. VICTORY FOR THE DOUBLE DIPPERS!!!!!!

  8. Mary

Collin, thank you for sharing this! My heart was actually beating! LOL! It is nice to see that a seasoned couponer like yourself even gets a little nervous when presenting the coupons! Love it!!!!!

  9. Nicole

Man it very frustrating when the workers at these stores give you a hard time on a deal. The economy is not in the best condition so you would think stores would want you to get these deals & not hassle you over coupons. I think they should limit who they put on registers. They shouldn’t just put anyone at a register, sorry but if you don’t get the right man/lady on a register is can be a disaster. I no longer go to the target near my home, i drive farther out to go to another one, since their cashiers don’t hassle me over coupons/savings. Even when the coupon beeps they just take it off. So far it’s been like that & i’m hoping the same lady i always go to never quites. lol Everytime i go in target now, i go when i know the lady is working, i alway make sure to tand in her lane, and when another cashier calls me to their lane i just say no thank you i’m fine or i let the person behind me go next. I love my cashier! lol

    • Barb

A LARGE part of the problem is that one must understand the wording of the coupon in order to determine if it is valid or not.

Many cashiers misinterpret the wording (I’ve experienced this enough to know). I have had to explain the wording on a coupon more than once and gotten looks like “OHhhhh”. Then they honor the coupon.

I’m not trying to call anyone dumb, but reading comprehension is a big issue in American schools. Apparently we have an inadequate system and do not demand enough of this type instruction.

Add to that the fact that many people do not read for pleasure and were never encouraged to do so. They really only comprehend the spoken word.

  10. Rebecca Wagner

Holy Cow! Glad you finally got them! Oh, and by the way, it’s not bribery…it’s Positive Reinforcement! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Rita

I went to Toys R Us on Monday and reserved them. When you did that with a $5 deposit on each, you got $15 off another Disney DVD of 19.99 or more. But then when you went to the register, it took off another $5 dollars. So i paid $10.42 and got another movie, plus $10 toward TS1 and TS2. So yesterday, i went in and they gave me my dvd’s, took off the $10 deposit, minus the 2 $10 coupons- My total, 3.98 plus tax for 3 movies and 2 movie tickets. IT WAS AWESOME!

  12. melissa

im glad you were able to get them for your son. i went to go tot toys r us for them but htey werent open for another 1/2 hr and we were already supposed to be at a playdate so i rushed over to target. i remembered they price matched BUT didnt bring an ad with me cuz i was banking on getting them at toys r us, not knowing they didnt open until 10! so i grabbed them from there and also got crud form the cashier and she called over the same manager ive had trouble with the last two times (one of which she basically told me i was lying only to come back and tell me i was right but never that she was sorry for her mistake) and the manager took one look at me and i could tell she was like “you again?!” but she honored them. and i walked out fo there with 2 toy story 1 combo packs, 2 toy story 2 combo packs, 2 monopolys, 2 connect 4s and 2 my little ponies and the blind side and a small toy all for 68$!!! NOT bad!

  13. Jen

    awesome!! i love it!!

  14. Tallymomma

What we do for our kids! I had a similar story but luckily only had to go to plan b.

  15. melissa

oh an di saved 133.00 on my purchase!!!

  16. Julie

My Target also had next to no copies of the Toy Story 2!

  17. Katie

WOW! Talk about determination!!!! Good for you; your little guy probably has no idea what you went through to get them!

  18. Ann Dee

Good job on seeing it through, Collin. Wow, we all have the same problems! Makes me feel better.
The cashier at Wal-Mart didn’t know how to price match AND wouldn’t let me use my coupons. SO she called over another cashier and they both had trouble accepting my TRU ad. I confidently waited for the manager and thankfully the manager helped her do the transaction and let me use my coupons. Whew!

Wondering if there will be a better deal out there next week for Disney DVD’s. Smith’s Marketplace has Princess and the Frog for 16.99 this week. Going to go get another one with my $10 coupon for a gift. Probably going to price match again. Plus with the rebates…I am loving it.

  19. anoo

WOW! That was some great Shopping… glad you got those DVDs. ๐Ÿ˜€ But i seriuosly don’t understand, ‘why do some of these WOMEN cashiers give us such a hard time?’ Maybe it hits them in the eye when we take stuff for cheap/free.. lol
Thanks for encouraging and inspiring us to stand up for ourselves. Keep writing these short stories, feels good to know that we are all in the same boat ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Flipfloppingmamma

You should send a quick email to best buy and tell them about the wonderful manager. They need to hear more success stories! Great job!

  21. Kristie

I got my movies at Toysrus yesterday. Good thing my husband had off or we wouldnt of gotten them it sounds like ๐Ÿ™‚ We paid $16 for both combo packs.. the cashier told my husband “someone out beat you, he got 4 movies for $6.98”.

  22. laura

I had my first aweful experience with Target and their coupons yesterday!!! The head cashier told me that as of Septmeber 09 they no longer could adjust down coupons. So I, THANKS TO COLLIN, whipped out my corporate policy (dated 2-22-10) and showed her where they could!! She kindly explained to me that she would be discussing this with her manager and calling corporate as soon as I left. I said thank you very much and left with almost $50 worth of merchandise for just over $15. Honest to goodness you would have thought that I was taking the money out of her own paycheck! Get over it! I work hard for my money and also for those coupons. THANK YOU COLLIN!!!!! You are my inspiration!

    • anoo

Laura, thats so very true! We work hard to collect those COUPONS!!! Its easy to go to the Store and buy stuff paying full price….but its hard to track sales, collect coupons, stack them, get the best deal and Save money!!! Cheers to Couponing ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Beth

I had the same experience this week at Target – it was very embarrassing. I think I will try a different Target – Target in Woburn MA would not accept any coupon that beeped and would not adjust them. They made me feel like crap!

      • Laura Lowe

DO NOT let them make you feel that way!! They get the money back and then some. Look at the fine print on your coupons! Besides there is a lot of work that goes into this!! OH YEAH! I almost forgot…I was checking my receipt on the way to my car and noticed that they charged me full price for a shampoo/conditioner combo pack that was on sale….so back inside I go and the clerk at the customer service desk didn’t believe me.I told her that we could walk back to the shelf and I would show her. Another clerk overheard our conversation and said “just give it to her, she is the second customer to say that today.” Morale of the story…I got a shampoo/conditoiner combo pack that was regularly $11.99 for $1.68 after the sale price and my coupons!!! Take that Target… if you don’t want to accept coupons, just post a sign on the front door!!! Okay, now I feel better….. so sorry.

  23. Heidi

    Way to go Collin!!

  24. Beverly

Thank you for telling your story. We all seem to have days like that. I’m so thankful that I was able to do the pre-order at TRU and not have any issues.
This story just goes to show us all that we should not back down and to try and try again.
    WHOOP! Good job Collin.

  25. redheads rock

My husband went in to Target at 8:30 yesterday morning hoping to price match but was told that since they were combo packs and not the exact same item they couldn’t do it.

So, off I headed to Toys ‘R Us. I arrived at about 9:45 am for a 10 am opening and there was already quite a line. There were plenty of DVD’s in stock.

Anyway, the only register open were in the Electronics department. The first guy was rather confused, and the lady in front of me paid $12.97 each (I think he made a mistake). Just before he finished another register opened and the cashier called me over. After ringing through the two DVD’s and the coupons and some scannable coupon she had behind her I paid $3.98 plus tax, for a total of $6.08 for two DVD’s and the free movie tickets. Yeah!! So glad she opened and that Target didn’t price match for us!

  26. Angela

Thanks for sharing, yea for the Manager ๐Ÿ™‚

  27. missdeally

I went to Babies R U at 10:30 and almost panicked when the shelf was empty. Luckily I had sense enought to ask. They had more located at the front. I picked up both, used my 5/25 BRU Q and 2 $10 off Q’s and paide $8.98 for them both! Boy if I had only known about he pre-order deal. Next time, whatever movie it is, I WILL preorder to save me the hassle.

    • missdeally

Forgot to add, the cashier was so psyched that i gave her two $10 off coupons…she had the movies on hold to purchase on her break!. I felt great about that! Now I have a new buddy. I’m so glad BRU is near me and not TRU!

  28. Clipper

Good for you! The last time I had a run-in with a not-so-bubbly cashier was at Wal-Mart. She was really nasty. My poor 6-year-old kept saying, “Mommy, why is that lady yelling at you?”, “Mommy, why is she so mad?”, etc. You would have thought the cashier would have been ashamed of herself, but she wasn’t. Fortunately, the manager came to the rescue and allowed the coupons, but she had the same nasty attitude as well.

  29. Candy

I have a question about the movie ticket. I entered my code on and now I have an email receipt. Do I go ahead and redeem the tickets now? I don’t know about expiration dates and everything. Do you have to know what day/time you are going to the movie or is it just a general voucher? I keep seeing “while supplies last” and I don’t want to miss out, but I am so clueless about this.

    • Kris

They expire in aug. Once you go to the site from the email and do everything you have 72 hrs to print them or you lose them.

      • Candy

        Thank you!

  30. Sharon

I was able to do the deal at TRU, but I have had your situation happen to me before. Best Buy is particulaly nasty to deal with, once I had their own ad and they wouldn’t give me the price, when I had a manger come over she kept referring to the ad as price matching! Really, I said, it’s a BEST BUY ad, your own store, not a price match! Gald you were able to get your deal!

  31. Deb

Ha ha! Thanks for sharing this! I had a similar situation with thy physician’s formula make-up at Target today. They were marked $3 on the shelf but they rang up at $8 and $9 each. I politely pointed out that they were supposed to be $3 and the cashier adjusted them down, but then he gave me so much grief about using the $4 peelies. I kept explaining to him that Target wasn’t losing any money, they would get the full $4 back from the manufacterer and he must have gotten tired of listening to me because he finally put them through.

    • missdeally

The same thing happened to me today! And they were NOT happy about adjusting the price down to $3 even though the sign clearly said $3! Target kills me sometimes, but I walked with $125 worth of stuff for $25… maybe they’re just jealous of our awesome money-saving ๐Ÿ˜‰

  32. Michelle P

Wow! My plan A was only Target, but a couple bucks wasn’t worth the longer drive, lol. I got there a little after 9, so I knew I was good to get them. What I don’t get is why these “price matching” stores don’t understand the concept!!! My friend and I were the ones who turned in the video of price matching at Wal-Mart and they refused to price match AND take coupons (just this one time) saying that that was “double price matching.” So we returned everything that had a coupon and my friend went to Smiths/Kroger for the sales that she could match with the coupons. Isn’t the whole point of this so that the stores get your business??? Seems silly that they haven’t figured that out! Glad you stood your ground and got your movies!

  33. Megan

What is wrong with the cashier at Best Buy?

  34. Kristi

I totally understand the craziness. I preordered mine from Toys R Us, but would have run into the same problem if I hadn’t. I went after work and all the 4 Toys R Us in my area were sold out. Or so they told the people in front of me in line. I felt bad going up right after them and having her pulling out my copies. Because of all the deals with preordering, I got princess and the frog dvd, and both toy stories for about 9 dollars. That is before any Princess and the Frog rebates too. Thanks for the heads up on all the deals!

  35. Melissa

I did the deal at Target after my mishaps at Toys R Us. I didn’t even think about going to Best Buy.
    Good job Collin

  36. Sakura

Lucky!!! I went to TRU, no luck. They told me to come back in 2 days. I went to WM with the ad, no luck. They told me they don’t price match on buy 2 items. I also went to my Target, no luck, they said the same thing WM said. Do they not know I am a huge disney fan and I love all things Toy Story!!!!! I told my son I would try again in a couple of days. This was worse than trying to buy a Wii console a few years ago!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. Starling Knight

So what if you dont have a TRU or a Target anywhere near you? I think we might have a Best Buy, and we do have Walmart and Kmart. Does anyone have any ideas on how to score on this deal here in Lewiston, Idaho?

  38. Sarah

haha, I had to do a double take when I went to ‘read’ the movie titles in your picture, and it didn’t say Toy Story. ๐Ÿ™‚ Nice switch! Thanks for telling us about the deal for the past few days. I got them both yesterday and was so excited when it worked–the cashier was really amazed at how low I got them for too…guess people weren’t as excited as I was for the deal in this area.

  39. Starling

So we dont have a TRU or a Target here in Lewiston, Id. We might have a Best Buy, and we do have walmart and Kmart. Just moved here and I am missing out on all the great deals I used to get where I used to live. Does anyone have any iedas on how I could get in on this deal at the other stores?

  40. Melissa

I went to Wal-mart yesterday morning about 8:30 and purchased the toy story 1 and 2 . They wanted 24.98 a piece!! So I whipped out Toys R US ad, and they honored it and I got my 2, 10 dollar coupons!! WOOHOO…49.96 for 13.98!! AWESOME!! Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

  41. Shahina

Great job! Hooray for the manager! I swear all these stores have a different set of rules. I purchased both of mine from Toys R Us but after reading on here that people got BOTH DVD’s for $3.98 I was tempted to TRY a price match at target so I stopped on my way home, TRU ad in hand – firs tthe cs rep couldnt figure out how to do the price match, then she attemtped to give me one dvd for $21.99 and the other for $16.99 and then she finally rang them up for $16.99/each BUT told me that I COULD NOT use coupons on price matched deals!!!! So I just left the dvd’s at the counter and went to TRU instead.

  42. Carole

I was so apprehensive about going to TRU and using my Qs. I rarely shop there but Toy Story is one of my absolute favorite movies… Once I finally decided to go at 6 pm last night, my first stop was H2S to get the Qs, and then I called TRU and spoke to a really nice woman to make sure they were in stock and that they would accept my Qs and she assured me everything would be fine ๐Ÿ™‚ I drove the 2 minutes over there and panicked when I could only find Toy Story 1! I wandered around for a minute and found a second display, thank goodness! I also found Fizz Ed drink on clearance for $1.98 Woohoo! I love those things!
Anyway, when I went to the register, the cashier turned out to be the same one I had spoken with on the phone! She was asking where I had found the Qs because she had been looking all over for them. Naturally, I explained how I get them and then launched into my little speech about how wonderful H2S is… I wrote down the site for her and when I went to pay for the movies, I remembered I had two extra Qs in my wallet and went ahead and gave them to her. I love being able to share the coupon love!
I’m glad my quest for the movies went well yesterday because my trips to Wal-Mart and Target went horribly today ๐Ÿ™ I had to fight for every coupon I used! Oh well, I got Wheaties for $0.25 a box and went to Target for board games because even though it’s only March, buying those board games gave me a serious head start on Christmas shopping!

  43. Cheryl

Don’t they know who you are. LOL You’re a celebrity in the coupon world. Should have brought your video camera along for this.

I preordered the movies on saturday at toys r us. I didn’t get them yet. I was planning on going today and now I’m scared. What if they sold them all? These movies are for my babies easter basket.

  44. Erica R

Glad I am not the only one. I went to Toys R Us when they opened and they were sold out do too taking so many pre-orders so they never even had any to put out on the shelves. Nice huh? Then i went to Target to find they were all out 2 hrs after opening. Seriously?? So i headed to Walmart who where well stocked took the TRU ad up to cashier and said I wanted the 16.99 price match the girl stated I needed to buy 2 to get that price. I have both Combo packs that would make 2, she sensed my annoyance and gave me the price match added the coupon and finally sucess!

For the people who got these what came in your cases and what cases did you get. I was hoping to get the digital copys but they are not in the black case and my Target still has both so I was thinking of price matching toys r us for the blue case if they hace that copy.

I just want to say thank you for posting your victories and your struggles. You are so stinkin funny!! I had a cashier at Target roll her eyes at me when I used the $2 coupon for the $2.50 beach towel as you posted. She said “you can’t use it on those beach towels only on the good ones???” Haha I told her please scan it, she did and then she practically threw my purchase at me and looked straight at the next customer and said “hi how are you hahaha” Oh well I got my beach towel. Thanks Collin!

I had no problem finding both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 at the local Toys R Us here. The cashier told me that she had a bunch of people come in that day with the same coupons as I had, and she was impressed with the deal we were all getting. I told her all about your site, and she promised to check it out!
