    awesome

How can you use a coupon on a free item? My Walgreens wouldn’t let me last week with the bogo soft scrub products.

    • Sandy

I hear ya. I am allowed to use a BOGO q with a BOGO sale but, I can not use two $$$ off q’s with a BOGO sale.

      • Angie

Mine won’t let me either. Sometimes if I complain they will offer 3 for the price of two and then I can use the two coupons that way.

      • Amy

You can’t use the couon on the free item. But if you buy 2 and get 2 free, you can use the coupons on the 2 items you pay for. So, essentially you are getting 4 for the price of 2 less the coupons.

  3. Kangelia

Well I was able to yesterday for two plan to get another two today. Thanks for the post

  4. Erin

The coupon says valid only at Dollar General stores, but it clearly is a manufacturer coupon. Does anyone know if Wags will get reimbursed? If they won’t, I don’t want to use it.

  5. Lauren

I just printed mine and in the fine print it says only for use at Dollar General stores.

  6. Angie

I wonder if these will work at Walgreens or if they will beep?

  7. Losingitagain

I was accused by the clerk of coupon fraud…she said I was the second person to try to use these at Walgreens and she said it specifically states for Dollar General Stores only. I apologized profusely and told her that I didn’t see the fine print and the websites I saw didn’t mention it. Be careful.

    • Sara

Did it beep when she scanned it? I didn’t see the fine print until it was mentioned here. Don’t want to get on my Walgreen’s bad side, small town and they remember me.

    • Shannon

I also went today and felt a little embarassed to have the cashier point outthat this says” For use in Dollar General stores only”.

  8. Angie

Ooh I don’t think I am going to try it. Maybe I will use it at Dollar General.

  9. Kari C

I just used 2 of them with no beeps at my Wag in Northern VA.

  10. Angie

Even if they go through, I wonder if the store will get the $$ back since the fine print says Dollar General only. If you know it’s a Dollar General coupon and you are using it at Walgreens, isn’t that like ripping off the store?

    • Erin

And it is hard enough shopping at Wags!

      • Angie

I know! They give me hassles almost everytime I am in there about using coupons or my RR and I fight back because I know that what I am doing is right. I don’t think I could go in there knowing I was w rong and trying to put one over on them.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Weird that they print Dollar General so very small. I would not have taken the time to read the fine print. You would think they would have printed this bigger. Oh well…I wonder how much they are at Dollar General.

    • Kris H

I felt bad so i called adn the supe sweet cashier said they will NOT get reinbursed but that she would explain it and essentailly take the blame since she didn’t see it either and had accepted it.

  11. Elaine

Thank you for pointing out that they say Dollar General. I don’t feel right about using them at Walgreens. There were coupons in one of the inserts a few weeks ago for $.50 off. I’ll use them instead…still a good price.

  12. anon

My walgreens had the new sale up on Saturday evening. I was able to snag my two a day early with the q’s. 🙂

  13. wpmomof2

I’m scared to try it. My Walgreen’s is SUPER strict. They drive me nuts. In fact, I started driving a little further to another Walgreen’s where they are friendly and more-coupon friendly!

  14. Cally

I went today and it worked at my wags. I didn’t notice the fine print. I will say that last week I went to a different wags, and they wouldn’t let me do the soft scrub thing. That woman was checking each and every coupon to make sure I was not wrong. She even thought I was wrong about the pampers deal and voided the transaction to redo it (even though it was correct).Today I had a full cart of items and the woman was very friendly, this was my regular wags. I really just wish they would get a standard coupon policy so that no matter where you went it would be the same.

  15. Jen

I’ve already used mine. I saw the deal posted and it was not explained that it was only for Dollar General. I used it and they accepted it… I just hope they get reimbursed for it. I wouldn’t intentionally use the coupon at the wrong store. It came up from coupons dot com, so I didn’t even read the fine print! =( Oops!

Help! For WALGREENS– If I have a coupon that is worth more than the item, are they supposed to ADJUST IT DOWN?

I had a coupon for $2/1 jergens lotion, the lotion cost 1.99. She made me add another lotion to be able to use the $2 coupon because she couldn’t “adjust down.” Isn’t she just giving me overage, then?? I think she did it wrong. Anyone know?

    • Erin

I’ve been told by managers that they can’t adjust coupons down due to “loss prevention.” Whatever that’s supposed to mean. I tried to purchase two air fresheners @ $3.99 and use two $4 coupons. One coupon went through (because the two items combined were more than the value of the $4 coupon), the second did not. The cashier called the manager over, who said I couldn’t use the second coupon, so I had her void the item for which I couldn’t use the coupon, thus getting only one for free. Not sure why that doesn’t result in “loss prevention” but the manager okayed it.

  17. Kris H

oh gosh, I just did this too. to be honest i hardly looked at it. Yikes, she took it but now i feel bad, I don’t want this to make them start being hard on couponers. maybe i should call???

    • Kris H

I did call, i didn’t want them to start being mean to couponers. The cashier who rang me out said, that they don’t get reinbursed for coupons that have Dollar General on them. but since she missed it too, she would “take the blame” for it and explain it to her supervisor. Which to me is good customer service, i mean really they couldn’t Make me take it back, although i did offer. But I know it works both ways, so i don’t want to take advantage of it.

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Speaking of Lysol…The Save Smart packages are on clearance at Walmart. They’re in plastic packaging. The 100 oz all purpose cleaner is $2, 45 sanitizing wipes is $1. Yes, I did say 100oz! They also have resolve in those packages. Pair them up with the insert coupons and it’s dirt cheap.

  19. Peggy

I just bought the lysol toilet cleaner tonight, but used a 50 cent coupon from ss ad awhile back still good deal!

  20. Jena Craig

I printed two with no problems at all. 🙂

  21. Amanda

I printed these coupons and did not read them at all, if I had I probably wouldn’t have used them. The register at Wags didn’t beep so maybe it will be okay. Shouldn’t the coupon read ‘For use at Dollar General only’ if that is the only place that would take them?

  22. Paula

My husband used the coupons at our Wags today and they took them. We didn’t know they said for Dollar General only in the small print. In fact, he said the cashier actually let one accidentally slide past the scanner again and it took another dollar off. I’m surprised it worked so well since their system is usually so picky.

  23. Amanda

I printed another of these and read it, it does say use at DG only. I feel bad now that I used them and am not sure what to do. The manager there is sometimes nasty about coupons, and makes you wait while he reads every word on every coupon, and tries to find a problem even if none is there. I really like the cashier that took them, and don’t want to get her in trouble with him. Any ideas? Thanks!

  24. Judy Granata

Our Walgreens have been great. The cashier usually will split my order without me asking so that I can use my register rewards on the second order! Kelly at Walgreens in The Woodlands, TX is the BEST! I have had no problems whatsoever. Even when the coupons give them trouble, they call the manager and they take care of it.

  25. Amber

Thanks for posting this! I got two of the Green bottles w/ Bleach yesterday and the best part was the $1.00 IPs did NOT beep! 🙂

  26. Gail

Just use two $.50 Qs that print from the Home Solutions webpage. It’s a MQ, WAGS will get reimbursed, and I used 2 yesterday on Lysol t.bowl cleaner without any problem at all.
