Here is a Walgreens coupon question…yesterday I was there and they had Reach dental floss for 99¢ each, I took 3 up to the counter and she rang them up and I handed over my 3-1.00 coupons. She said she could only take 2 because they were 99¢ and not $1.00, (resulting in overage). She called over the mgr. he said the same thing, I asked if they could adjust the last coupon down to 99¢ and he said they couldn’t do that. I asked if they could raise the price to $1.00 each and he said he can’t raise prices. I left and called 1-800-walgreens and am waiting for a call back. Are they able to adjust coupons down? How would you have handled it? I had just made a purchase for the body wash on a previous transaction, so it wasn’t like I was just there to get FREE dental floss.

Same thing happened to me but on different products. The only thing you can do is have them void one of the flosses. You’d then get two for free, but you’d have to use your other coupon elsewhere. Inversely, you could have them ring four flosses, take the three coupons, then void one of the flosses, but I don’t think it’s worth it, which is why I avoid Wags. I don’t see why they’re OK with this scenario but not with reducing the coupon, but that’s Wags.

I think it depends on the store. We have two near us—one will adjust down and one won’t.

It depends on who is ringing you up and what manager is present. I have had employees raise the price of the item on sale to match the coupon and at the same Walgreens I have had them tell me they can’t adjust prices.

I’m not seeing the Nivea coupon. Is there a certain zip code I should enter? BTW, my Walgreens has said the same thing to me about the 1.00 coupons on .99 cent items. Here is what they would have told me: “If you buy 4 dental floss at .99 cents each, then use 3 coupons each for a 1.00, then it would work. The extra .03 cents will carry over on the fourth dental floss.”

    My wags will adjust down

Good luck using 2 Qs (including a BOGO) on two items at the commissary. Because of the FREE Doritos coupons (and other fake Qs floating around Fort Campbell, KY), our commissary has really cracked down on coupon usage. Now, they say that if you purchase 2 items and use a BOGO Q, you cannot use another Q for the 2nd item. I was told this twice and decided to write the store manager and ask directly. She then wrote the DECA HQ (she wanted to be certain with her reply-she is very nice) and they responded that indeed, if one of the items is free, then it is technically not being purchased and I cannot use another coupon for the item that I am buying (they consider it doubling). Their coupon policy says only one coupon per item, which I explained, and even the manager agreed that it should make sense to be able to use both Qs, however, the answer I got back was no. :o(

That is the official DECA policy…I’m glad you said something here, it really isn’t allowable to use a BOGO + a $off coupon at a Commissary. I try to work those deals at Wags or Target…they are usually great about it! 🙂

They are on clearance at my local Walgreens. Saw it yesterday!

OK so who has a Walgreen’s that will take two mfg Q’s?? Just came from there…NOPE, can’t use a B1G1 with the 2.00 Q on the NIVEA .

  7. Christine

    I went to 3 different Wags and purchased a total of 6 using a BOGO & 2 $1/1.

    • Rhonda

Good for you!!! HATE WAGS here!!

      • Rhonda

AND they raised the price on VEET to 8.99. UUUGGGHHH!

I hate missing out on great clearances because I was told by CVS and WAGS that I can NOT use coupons on clearance items. Has anyone else run into this problem. Any suggestions on how to handle would be appreciated. There is nothing mentioned in the coupon policies so I don’t know. Please help!

On a different note, I wish WAGS would install price checking machine. The clerks hate being asked to check. One clerk even told me they get written up for doing too many price check, What the heck?! Maybe it’s just my area in So. CA.

Thats nuts. Call corporate in the store the next time you go. You are allowed to use coupons on clearance items. I do it all the time.

On the commissary coupons, sometimes it says clock here for the coupon and sometimes it says find in ss or rp….what are those?? I want some of the coupons that say that and I cant figure out how to get them.
