This is the best moisturizer ever! Just scoop a spoonful or two into a ziploc bag, take it with you into the shower and watch it melt. After your shower, slather it on – works wonderfully…and the best part, its organic so no chemicals!

  2. Jen

I use it to pop popcorn on the stove top. It’s so good with sea salt and butter! I also use it in place of shortening in baked goods.

It’s wonderful for personal care: eye make-up remover and moisturizer. Sometimes I slather my feet after a shower and throw on some socks.

    • 8 isn't enough

Popcorn popped in this (I use this exact brand) tastes and smells JUST like the MOVIES’ !!

    Human use: moisturizer wonderful
Dog use: I mix it in with homemade dog treats and it really helps with dry itchy skin.

Oh I love coconut oil since i am a pacific islander Guam Native…we use it for cooking and most especially when a member of my family and myself have a real upset stomach and bloating. apply a bit of warm oil on your hand an massage into stomach and what a relief! Also you can make shrimp and coconut soup!
sautee onions, garlic add shrimp shell on clean and deveined add veggies like Long green beans, tomatoes, salt and black peper to taste, 1 can coconut milk ( last so that way you dont overcook the coconut milk), Fresh pepers OPTIONAL…delicious if you are a shrimp lover..
Please appreciate coconut oil of any kind,, the process is hard when made homemade!
We tried it a couple of yrs back and it was alot of WORK!!! hehehe.
Gladly we have family who send it to us when NEEDED! haha

    Enjoy!

Wow, this is an incredible deal! Thanks, Crystal!

Sorry, I meant “thanks COLLIN” 🙂

I use this mainly for hair moisturizer (African American with dreadlocs), but I have also discovered homemade lip gloss recipes with it included. I love it!!

    • Dwana

I use coconut oil, manly for my hair. I mix it with my conditioner and/ or essential oils. It also works extremely well for my skin! I’ll use it alone, mixed with shea butter, and or olive oil. It’s very light and absorbs well without clogging pores.

    • Tiffany

Is homemade lip gloss easy? How do you make it? I’d love to try!

      • lana2201

Hey! Check http://www.ehow.com and type in homemade lip gloss. You’ll find LOADS of recipes. I make a chocolate mint lip gloss & add coconut oil for moisture. It changes the scent, but i still love it. Good luck!

I’ve used it for massage on my infant daughter since she was 3 weeks old. I feel completely confident using this organic, cold-pressed oil on her delicate skin.

I also use it as a deep conditioner for my curly locks. Take a tablespoon full, rub it on, enjoy the fragrance, wait 30min-1h, and wash as normal. Makes my hair feel so soft!

    • Rebecca

Thank you for the tip! My daughter has curls, and her hair is always dry and frizzy. I’ve tried lots of conditioners, but they only keep her hair smooth and curly for an hour or two before it turns dry and frizzy again! I will try this!

    • Kim M.

My son was having months of dry, rashy skin on his torso and I started rubbing this in after baths just a couple weeks ago and he is already cleared up!

    • Candace

I also use it on my daughter’s skin. She has pretty bad exema and I have put it on her since she was a few weeks old. What a great deal!

  8. Sherry

I really want to try this! The reviews are so positive and it sounds delicious/

Spread it on toast, any of my stir frys, a tablespoon in my fruit smoothies, use it as moisturizer on my heels and feet, this stuff is awesome and I really like this brand! THANKS!!

  11. Anna

thanks for all the new ideas! i buy my coconut oil (same brand) from a coop and get it for .35/oz, compared to this price at .40/oz. 54 oz for $19.00. glad to know how my price compares to others. this is a great price if you are not able to get it elsewhere.

When my daughter was an infant she had a bad case of thrush. She went through two rounds of meds from the medical doctor with no success. I heard you could use coconut oil on her tongue and tried it. It cleare it up in a few days and it never came back! Amazing. She loved it too. I just put a small amount on a q-tip and put it on her tongue a few times a day.

  13. Lori

I’ve been using this product for years. Have never used it in cooking, though. I use it on my skin as a moisturizer. Fabulous! Nice to use in the hair as well. And another thing about it is that a little goes a long way. And the container lasts a long, long time!

One other specific thing I’ve used it for is when my anus is sore (like when you’ve been sick had loose bowel movements or when you get a small tear in that sensitive skin). After getting myself very clean, I put some of this product on a Q-tip and gently apply it to the area. It’s amazing how quickly it addresses the pain!!!!! I know some of you might not enjoy reading about butts . . . however, if you’ve had a sore one before, you know it’s no picnic. This remedy will work well on kids of all ages as well!

    • Sabine

Thanks for the tip. With a house full here, someone’s bound to need a solution like that sooner rather than later!

    • mom of 2

My area you are talking about ripped when i gave birth to my son. It was PAINFUL!!! I wish I knew about this two years ago – thank you so much for sharing!!!!

  14. Christy

Thank you for this Collin. I have been waiting for an excuse to try this.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So . . . if you really want to know . . . it is a great sexual lubricant. You cannot use it with latex condoms as it obviously is oil based, but it is hands down better than all the other lubricants available.

  16. Sabine

I received the free jar from Tropical Traditions and have been putting it in my coffee and eating a small amount on a spoon each day for the health benefits. It is absolutely delicious and I did subscribe and save on this deal. You absolutely cannot beat 4 jars for around $20 including shipping! If you don’t want to pay a higher price later, then just go in later and drop it from subscribe and save!

  17. Eileen

I love it for stir fry, making curry, etc. in place of vegetable oil. I also add a bit to my date/nut/chocolate balls. (Dates, cashews, vanilla, coconut oil, chocolate chips in the food processor – roll into balls.)

  18. Jo

If you melt choclate or peanut butter into it, this is what is used to make “hard top” or crackle that is in the ice cream section.

  19. Felicia

This is the brand I use. It’s awesome. This is a good deal. I purchased it about a month ago on Amazon 54 ounces for $20. I used Amazon gift-cards (from swagbucks) and paid $11. I am tempted to buy it again though.

If you just want to get coconut oil into your diet, the easiest way is eating it off a spoon. As was mentioned, tho you can also mix chocolate (or cocoa + sugar) and drizzle it on ice cream, it hardens. Or just throw it in the freezer then eat it like candy. Or you can mix it into oatmeal, etc. That’s what I do. If I am not in the mood for anything, though, I just eat it off a spoon. lol.

  20. Kristina

We use it with our cooking. We make sure to turn the heat on first & head up the pan that you will be cooking in and then drop the coconut oil in. My husband read something about how it is not a good idea to have the oil in the pan when it is still cold & starting to warm up. A little goes a long way! We then make scrambled eggs with it, saute vegis, meat, anything! I also make homemade dipped pretzels & have switched from using a small amount of vegetable oil in my chocolate to using the coconut oil & it tastes fantastic!
Thanks for all the other hints on different ways to use it! 🙂

  21. Jenn R

What great ideas! I’m excited to try it on my ever-frizzy curly hair.
I love using it for baked goods. I also LOVE the taste of chicken stir-fried in coconut oil. Another thing I tried once is to put it on salmon. That was REALLY yummy!!!! As my hubbie often says, “Coconut oil makes everything taste good.”
Anyone ever use it in any beef dishes? Wonder how that would be…

  22. Kim M.

When I ordered this from Amazon last time it arrived with oil all over the box they shipped it in. I think only a minimal amount was lost, but it did require some clean up of the jars before using. Just an fyi! It’s partly Amazon’s fault because there wasn’t nearly enough padding in there, but the jars should be sealed a bit better as well!

  23. shoplessjess

gonna give it a try. thanks!

i came across this recipe the other day, and thought of the coconut oil many of you ladies won (i missed out on it :/) anyway, thought id share!
ps–this is a WONDERFUL website if you have children. Even if you dont homeschool, there are so many ideas that can reinforce what they are being taught in school–and even over the summer, you could work on some projects with the kids. I have a 2 year old, and we use her ABC info which is AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE. What a great help!

OH wow, this is a great deal for an organic and unrefined oil….my hubby has the car and my purse with credit card is in it….DARN…I just know when I go to buy the price will be back up…..I missed out on the free coconut oil and really want to take advantage of this one! How strong is the coconut taste? No one but me likes coconut….but then again, I’ve got some dogs with dry skin, boys with sensitive skin – if they dont like the taste, I can use it as moisturizer! Great find!

  26. Tiffany

Would this work for the homemade sugar scrubs? Or do you need an oil that doesnt solidify? Anyone know?

  27. ANDREA

I love all the food deals lately! Nothing like getting healthy food shipped free to my door.

  28. Ellen

This coconut oil is one of the best quality coconut oils out there. It is GREAT for baking or cooking. Excellent, excellent coconut oil!!

  29. Dana

I love to cook french toast in it! Gives it such a good flavor. I use a good quality bread, egg and cinnamon!

  30. Rebecca

This is a FANTASTIC buttock lubricant. Jogging, shopping, just walking the kids around … it has really cut down on the chafing. Especially necessary after an rectal shaving … when that stubble comes back in it’s murder. I can’t believe how much better this works than Crisco. Plus my husband always notices a “tropical” fragrance … he thinks it’s my perfume!!! LOL

  31. Amy

great on diaper rash, eczema, skin rashes, dry cuticles, moisturizer, deep conditioner for hair, soothing to sunburn, excellent for frying (has a high smoke point), has a shelf life of two years after opened!, anything you would use shortening for, or even usually butter, you can use this. it is WONDERFUL for you, is anti-fungal, ant-bacterial, and anti-yeast!

  32. Regina

I use coconut oil to pop popcorn (yes, I use the old-fashioned pan-on-the-stove method). Coconut oil is one of the few oils that is safe to heat to high temperatures, such as for frying, so I use it to stir-fry anything.

  33. Cherilyn

Leave-in hair treatment if you have crazy dry hair like me! I’ve been using a tiny bit after the shower for years. Love it!
