IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU!
I am so excited about this week’s topic for YOU In Bloom. Each of you put so much effort into your families, your careers, your friends, etc…. So for this week we are going to make it ALL ABOUT YOU! That’s right, you heard me, YOU!! It is my one wish that you adjust your priorities for the week and move yourselves to top position. I realize that this is a lot to ask since none of us are accustomed to putting ourselves first…. But come on guys, it’s only a week. Give it a try!
To kick of “Sew Your Seed”, I am making a list of things that I encourage you to do this week. Pick (at least) one a day to indulge in. Let your family know about this special “project” for the week and ask that they make adjustments and/or concessions to help you achieve your “YOU In Bloom” daily tasks.
As a fun way get motivated I’d like you to post (in the comments section) one activity that you are going to do this week to spoil yourself. Make sure that it’s not already on my list as well as unique from other reader’s ideas…. This way we’ll have a diverse assortment of ways to pamper ourselves. Those of you that participate will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes with a very awesome “Sew Your Seed” mystery prize! Yay!!
10 Ways to Spoil Yourself
1. Grab a book, a magazine, or a friend and head down to your favorite coffee shop for an hour of relaxation.
2. Light some candles, put on some relaxing tunes, and slip into a warm, bubbly bath… And lock the door, no disturbances allowed!!
3. Get a manicure, pedicure, or both! If you’re on a budget see if you can wrangle up a good buddy to do it for you.
4. Grab your iPod and get outdoors! Take an hour walk around the neighborhood, down the greenbelt or find a hiking trail.
5. Movie date…. You can go it alone, bring a friend or take the hubby.
6. Splurge! – Is there an item you’ve been eying for months, but have felt too guilty to purchase? GET IT!
7. Sleep in. Plan ahead to make sure that you will have one morning of uninterrupted leisure and bliss.
8. Buy yourself a bouquet of spring flowers.
9. Get a massage. If money is tight then enlist the talents of your spouse or a friend. If you can find a self-employed masseuse they may be open for a trade (my sister sometimes offers graphic design work in exchange for spa services!)
10. I saved the BEST for last…. GET A HOTEL ROOM FOR AN EVENING!! I understand that this can cost a little but if you shop around and book it for a weeknight then you will more than likely find a decent deal. Search for accommodations that include a pool/spa, movie channels, or better yet, room service!!! 😉
