If you’re looking for a unique gift or even a little treat for yourself, I would highly suggest browsing around Ten Thousand Villages!

I just ordered the brass and bone bangle and the double hoop earrings for $7! Thanks, Collin!!!
We had one of these stores in our area, sadly they went out of business. I loved their jewelry….great excuse to go out with the girlfriends & shop!
links not working for me 🙁
page not found…so they are SOLD OUT?
I think that the site is experiencing some technical difficulties or is updating. After clicking on the “shop” button, I got a message saying to “select a department to begin shopping.” However, there is is no list or drop down to select a department.
web sight not working…dang it looks like they have cute stuff
Site not working for me either. Will try again in the morning. I’ve never bought anything from them directly, but a little local fair trade store carried a lot of their stuff and I have bought TONS. Always thought their stuff made great stocking stuffers.
Site is not working for me either. 🙁 Probably getting a lot of traffic from this site. I will look again tomorrow. Looks like great stuff.
Every link I click on says page not found

A little about Ten Thousand Villages, one of my favorite places to shop……There are a series of these shops in the United States and Canada, and they are part of the Mennonite Church. Specifically, run through the Mennonite Central Committe, essentially , i guess, a social justice, community and peace outreach part of the Mennonite Church. They buy goods from artisans in third world countries, paying them a fair wage for their goods. They support Fair Trade. I have shopped at Ten Thousand Villages for over 25 years, and love the place and the concept! So it’s a win-win situation…artisans from developing countires earn a fair wage for their work, and you get a unique item (jewelry, clothing, ,usical instruments, etc) for a good price.
I’m in PA too and just realized there is a store right in my town (Media!) I can’t wait to check it out in person. 🙂
I just ordered the three chain bead earrings for $2.50 shipped, yay! These look like great quality items, what a fabulous deal 🙂
I got the olive wood condiment tray for $8.50, normally over $30 and beautiful!
Yay thanks! I ordered the 3 chain bead earrings ($2.50) and the frosted glass bead necklace ($3.00) total came to $5.93 shipped! 🙂
I got the woven tote bag ($4.50), the Paper Jacob’s Ladder ($4 – a gift for my daughter’s teacher), and an Olive Wood necklace ($2.50). Thanks for the free shipping code.
I scored some great bangles/bracelets! $23.00 total! Very beautiful stuff! Plus, during checkout — I created an account and signed up for their newsletter. I immediately got an email with a promotion code in it for FREE SHIPPING! =) Great place & I love where my money is going with this one! These will make great gifts! Thanks!

I order the olive wood necklace and the olive wood condiment tray. only $11.00. looks like nice stuff! thanks!!
I started to get something, but then I thought, wouldn’t I rather have a story behind such a unique piece? I’m going to Peru next year, I think I’ll get a piece while I’m there so I can remember the circumstances behind how I got it. 🙂
Thanks for sharing 10,000 villages with your readers. We have a local store here in FL, and I love any excuse (gifts for all occasions) to go in. I’m never disappointed, and people love the fact that they get a nice gift and know that the money spent on the gift will go directly to the artisans. This is my favorite place to pick up a new, inexpensive piece of jewelry that looks like it came from a high-end boutique. Hope everyone enjoys their purchases!
