AHHHHH!! I’m such a Chocoholic and I seriously can’t handle all these chocolate deals. I mean it’s summer. I’m suppose to be focusing on eating healthy…. consuming lots of fresh fruits and veggies, right?! Well, these chocolate deals are very hard to resist. What to do… what to do…

Alright, enough of that.

I just heard from Christie over at Wild for Wags that not ONLY are the Hershey’s Reese’s working for the $5 Register Reward deal (that I mentioned here)… BUT the Kit Kat bars are too!! Ummm… see what I’m talking about? Doesn’t this make you want to run to Walgreens!

Deal Scenario:
Buy 4 packages of Hershey’s kit Kat Bars 8 packs $1.50 each
Buy 3 packages of Hershey’s Reese’s 8 packs $1.50 each
Total = $10.50
Use the in ad coupon which will make each package $0.99
Pay $6.93
Get back a $5 Register Reward
Final cost ONLY $1.93 total– just $0.28 per 8 pack!

Would it still work if I buy all kit kats?

    • bonnie

      yes… any $10 combo before q’s

    • sneha

ad coupon says it is limit 3 , casheir will accept?

      • Mitchell Wischmann

The register will automatically take the appropriate money off so all seven candies are $0.99 after in-ad coupon. The register doesn’t know the limit and if you buy 100 it will adjust for that.

    • sneha

ad coupon says limit is 3 for 99 cents , how they will accept?

  2. Serafina

Anyone having an issue with the big “limit 3” on the in-ad coupon?

    • Karin

      yes – I’m confused

    • Teri

Yes, my cashier would only sell 3 at .99 cents.

      • Teri

I did get the RR for purchasing 7, just not as great of a deal….still a deal, none the less.

      • Mrs. B

yep, my walgreens said no. they follow the ‘limit 3’ rule.

    • Mitchell Wischmann

Nope, no issue for me and I got the deal twice.

  3. Karin

    I’m confused – doesn’t the Q say limit 3 at 99cents???

    • Elizabeth

      I’m confused too.

      • Julie S.

some stores ignore the limits. might be ymmv.

  4. Jean

    JUST SAY NO!!!

  5. Kathi

A manager explained (a couple years ago) to me that the register will allow for you to get double the in-store coupon limit that is printed. So, I usually purchase twice the limit on the in-store coupon items – and that has been for at least 2 years that I’ve done this. HTH

    • couponlovingmommy

      That’s good to know!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

manager again was making stuff up… the register will take off as many as you buy if the cashier will allow it. My cashiers never enforce any limits so I buy what I want all the time. It always takes off the full amount as long as it is not over the amount of the products. If it is it will simple not remove the last one. Mine never adjusts down automatically 🙁

  6. Kerrie

This deal does work. I was just at Walgreens and purchased 4 pkgs of Reeses and 3 pkgs of Kit Kats. I received $3.57 off from the Walgreens in-ad coupon and also received my $5 Register Reward.

  7. Lisa

omg, i will add this to my walgreens run tomorrow.

  8. mary

the register will take off as many items as you get. I got 100 bayer a few weeks ago so it took off 100 times

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Holy **** 100? LOL I think I would be way weirded out to buy 100 in one transaction! I buy a lot but not that much….. 🙂

    • Mitchell Wischmann

Umm…100?! How does one store have that much Bayer?!

    • Julia

Are you sure you were not joking? They might not had 100 on the display.

  9. Kate M.

Mmmmm reese’s cups rock in smores…think I will stock up for summer : )

    • bonnie

What katie? OMG! that sounds soooo good…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Holy cow does that sound good!!! I will be trying that! I’m pregnant, this could easily become a new craving! LOL! =)

  10. jenny q

I know these will stay fresh until halloween…..Trick or Treat 🙂

    • Ashley

      Good idea!!!!!

    • Leslie

Sounds like a good plan, but I might be tempted to eat them all by Halloween.

  11. couponlovingmommy

Just worked for me! Yay for cheap yummy candy! 🙂

  12. Jill

Worked for me, and my Walgreens is usually pretty stingy on keeping the limit. The didn’t say anything about it, though! Hooray!

  13. Anonymous

YMMV. I bought 7 of the Reeses ($1.50 each) and did NOT get a RR using a $4.50 P & G from the body wash. Oh, well. Normally I would return the items, but this was a MM week with the RENU, they were crazy with remodeling the store, and the store manager that was on sticks with limits for the most part even tho the BA could care less. 🙂

    • Julia

Hmm, I bought 7 of Kit K and 2 Body Wash and I use the $10 RR from NGN from last wk. It worked for me tho. I got back $4.50 RR (body wash) and $5.00 RR(Kit K).

      • Samantha

I did the exact same transaction as Julia using the Neutrogena RRs and it worked for me! This was the 3rd store I had been to trying to find 7 pkg of candy, but boy, do I love some Reeses straight from the fridge! =D

    • K71

It might have started to print as you were walking away from the register…The other week when I bought the U-Kotex, my register reward wasnt going to print and after a couple minutes of waiting for the manager to void the transaction…it printed….So, their register might have been a little slow printing it for you…

  14. Kristy

Just got back – worked for me. I bought 4 kit kat & 3 reeses & used RR from last week to pay – woo hoo. kids love us at Halloween b/c we give out good candy 🙂

    • Leslie

Can you really save these until Halloween? Do they need to be frozen?

      • Kristy

yes – they will last. just store them in a cool dry place – I usually store them in a couple of ziplock bags and then put them in the pantry. I’m in FL so no basement, but they would totally last in the basement. Don’t put them in the freezer – they will turn white.

      • Amber

I hate to break it to you, but the manufactures have already made this year’s Halloween candy and it’s sitting in warehouses waiting till October…. They are probably working on Easter already, candy sits around for months in warehouses before it goes out.

But, yes it will last that long, as long as it doesnt melt or get wet.

    • Julia

Kristy, which one RR you used to pd for? I just bought 7 of 8 packs of Kit Kat and use my $4.50 RR from B. Wash and it didn’t print any more $5 RR. Again, which one RR you used? Thanks.

      • Kristy

        I used $10 Neutrogena & $5 Schick to pay – got $5 + $4.50 + $7.50 RR back for candy, body wash & saline.

    • K71

You are too good!! No way will this last til Halloween for me and my kids…Shoot! One pack will be gone b4 we even get home! Let alone trying to hold out til Halloween!!

      • Kristy

lots of will power and I keep them in the very back of the pantry so I don’t see them everyday!

  15. Darlene

Mary, did I read your comment correctly – you purchased 100 bottles of Bayer aspirin? That’s a lot of aspirin.

    • Lisa

That’s what I was thinking. My Wags wouldn’t have that much on their shelf!! That’s a WHOLE lot of Aspirin!

    • Tilla

some people have to take aspirin daily for their whole lives, maybe she is stocking up on a good deal, but does seem like a lot. my granny has had to take an aspirin for the last 45 years..so 100 bottles would have been gone by now!

  16. Michele R

It didn’t work for me today, either. I bought 4 packs of Reese PB Cups and three kit kats and got NO RR.

    • lil.ms.p

I purchased the 3 reese’s and 4 kit kats and paid $0.99 for each. However, I did not receive a RR with the purchase. How do we know if the product is included in the RR deal? If I was suppose to get a RR then what do I do now? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am still a coupon newbie.

      • lil.ms.p

Ok, so we figured out what happen. Our checker didn’t ring up one of the Reese’s. Went back and had to deal with an a manager that was annoyed with us, but got the $5 Register Rewards, plus he still didn’t charge us for the Reese’s!

  17. Mary Ellen

Well, I just came from Walgreen’s and here to report that I bought a combination of kit kats, reese’s, and hershey’s, but I guess the hershey’s snagged my dealio up as it didn’t give me any RRs.

  18. robyn

this would be nice if i got any of these candy coupons. i hate regional coupons.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

there are NO MQ needed for this deal. The coupon is in the store ad.

  19. Niki

Off the candy topic, but i just got back from my Walgreens and they say they no longer accept interent printing coupons. I was shock!!!!….that cashier lady been there for so long and always accept my interent coupons. BUT today, she said NO due to too many problems reported. OMG….anybody has this problem at your WG?

    • Mrs. B

I went to walgreens today & used printables.

    • Shelly T.

I have one local WAGS that will not take IP coupons anymore. I really think it is the managers decision, because my other two still take them.

    • Tomoko

If you go to the Walgreens site, there are IP coupons to print out though.
They offer IP coupons on their site but don’t accept IP coupons? Weird.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree, if they have a link to coupons.com/bricks then they accept internet printed coupons.

    • K71

This happened to me a few weeks ago at the Walgreens in Miramar, Fl….They refused to take my $5 Bengay coupon…I emailed customer service but no response as of yet.

    • rmayer

2 of my local wags refuse to take them now also. I hate to plan a deal and try only to get refused at the other wags, so I don’t even try IPs at any wags now.

  20. Mitchell Wischmann

I went and got some…just make sure you ONLY buy Reese’s and Kit Kats! The Snickers that are also $0.99 after in-ad coupon do NOT generate the Register Reward!

    • Lana

      Snicker’s are M&M Mars not Hershey’s.

      • Amanda

Well..that makes sense then…I went and didn’t get the RR. If figured I just screwed it up. I’m so new to this coupon thing and so not a pro! 🙂 Thanks for the info!

  21. cwil

I live in an area where they ARE doing a pilot program. We have a “W” card that earns points. I bought 4 Kit Kat and 3 Reese’s PB cup and it DID print the RR. I also scored the money maker multi purpose solution. Then I rolled my RR’s into another transaction and got the Lysol toilet cleaner, herbal essences shampoo, and some huggies diapers. (those are on sale for $8.99, and I had a $3 off coupon).
    Thanks for sharing the deals!

  22. Sandy

Boy, did I luck out! I walked in the door and one of the cashiers was putting away inventory. She had oodles of Reese’s and Kit Kats. I was hoping to be able to do 5 deals of Reese’s (35 packages) to make pnb cup brownies and they had more than enough. I purchased Gillette/Old Spice body wash along with a $1 Act II popcorn to flip flop RR’s. $16.10 for 35 packages of chocolate, 5 body washes and 4 popcorns. Not free but a great deal! Thanks for posting Collin 🙂 The Oak Creek High School Marching Band in Oak Creek, WI will be veeeerrrrry happy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

my store will only let you buy 1 body wash per person per day 🙁 and i wanted to buy the candy but the cashier said you can only use 1 coupon per 3 candy so i would have to do seperate transactions for that so i didnt get it. maybe ill just try it when i go back to town today

  23. Irene G.

On the subject of the computer/registers at walgreens. I have been told that the computers do not read the expiration dates on Register Rewards. I have been a few days past expiration and still had them accepted by register. I found this out by accident. I still do my best to use by expiration date, but if I am a day or two late, the computer will still accpt. Just make sure it doesn’t beep for any other reason because the cashier could reject. FYI

  24. heather

didn’t work for me and i did that exact deal 🙁 boo.

  25. MommyPants

My walgreens had a yellow sticker advertising the $5 RR with $10 purchase (based on 1.50 each i guess) because I used the in ad coupon for a total of ~$7 and I got the RR. So this isn’t quite so secret at all the stores!! It was only marked on the kit-kat and reeses.

    • Sherri T.

My store has it advertised with the RR too. I picked up 2 Kit Kat (all they had) and 5 Reeces and it worked. I got the RR. 🙂

  26. Sara

The manager at our store put up signs everywhere that are stating you can only do one RR deal per day per advertised deal. Can they really limit you to one a day, or is that up to corporate? Anybody know? I really want to try the deal on Reeses, but seeing how stingy they are with the RR deals, they will probably stick to limit on in store coupons as well. Don’t know if its even worth trying.

  27. Jennifer

This deal also makes a great filler item!

  28. Darlene

Irene, I had an RR that was a day late, and the cashier wouldn’t accept it.They ck the expiration dates on the RR’s at our local Walgreens.

  29. Laurie

Worked great for me today. I actually got 4 Reese’s and 3 Kit Kats. Putting 3 of each away in the freezer for Halloween and keeping the 4th pack of Reese’s for snacks 😉

  30. Pam

I’ve been told that the limiting is set by the individual managers. I think the biggest thing is when someone comes in and completely clears them out rolling items and RR back and forth. If I want a larger quantity such as the Bayer that is not connected with a RR I order it through my manager. He is the best and will order me what I need. I then pass the Bayer on to families at my church who graciously supply me with tons of coupons who use the aspirin on a daily basis.

  31. Robine

Just came back from Walgreens and it worked for me here in Birmingham AL. Bought 7 Reeces cup 8 packs and 1 Kit Kat and it still kicked back 5RR. :0) Loving It!

  32. Robine

Oh…by the way….have you ever tried putting the Reeces cups in the freezer….Yum!!!

  33. Denise

Mine didn’t print the RR. I used a $5 RR from last week, but it wasn’t related. I was bummed, but got nowhere with the staff. I finally just gave up. Wasn’t sure how I would get back my RR I used to pay anyway, so not so cheap candy for me. I could have bought the same amount for less at the W-a-l-m-a-r-t……

  34. Sherri T.

It is really odd that this is working for some and not for others. RR deals usually work the same across the board. I wonder what is up with this deal?

I got 2 Kit Kat and 5 Reeces (they only had 2 Kit Kat in the store) and a bottle of diet pepsi. I paid $8.80 with tax and received the $5 RR.

  35. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The deal worked for me today in Reno, NV. I bought 6 Reese’s 8 packs and 1 Kit Kat 8 pack. Used a $5 RR from the Gilette Proglide and the .99 cent store coupon. I paid $1.93 out of pocket and it printed me another $5 RR. Now off to figure out creative ways to useReese’s!

    • amber

Yummy recipe for use in the Taste of Home Magazine this month (basically make a double chocolate cake frost middle and top, then apply a variety of chocolate candy cutely on top!). Yum!

  36. rosetreats28

This is so fat! LOL!!! I just can’t do this deal…LOL

  37. Shelly T.

Not a candy deal, but wanted to let everyone know that at my local WAGS in OK they had Nexcare waterproof bandages twin packs on clearance for $1.89. I had $1/1 coupons , so $0.89 for two packs(I bought 3 twin packs)! They also had Scotch Pop Up Desk Grip dispensers on clearance for $1.19, and I used a $1/1 coupon. Also the last time I was there I received a catalina for a free pack of Always pads, and while I was there I got a prescription for my daughter and received another one. So two packs of Always pads for FREE!! I also did the Reach toothbrush deal(bought 5, used two $2/2 coupons) and the Gillette Body Wash deal, bought two used the B1G1 coupon and the $4/2 coupon. My total was $4.30 for everything!!

  38. skipchuck

Bought 4 Reeses and 3 Kit Kats tonight at Wags in Central TX and no problem w/ using the in-store coupon for .99 cents on all 7, and the $5 RR printed for me.

    • Candy

Where are you in Central Texas?

  39. Kim

I tried this today and the in-ad coupon beeped so I had them taken off my total.
Has anyone else had the problem? I may try it again at another store, maybe it was something with that particular store’s registers?

  40. Kim

Does this work on the snickers also or just the kit kats and reeses?

  41. Kim

Okay, I think I may have figured out why my in-ad q beeped and maybe why some others beeped also. I was trying to use the in-ad q on the front page for the candy pictured listed with the theater candy. This was the incorrect q – use the one on the bottom of the second page and it works just fine.
HTH someone else who hasn’t been able to do this deal!
