If I were to do the scenario Collin posted wouldn’t I have to make a copy of the reciept to submit both rebates? If so, would a copy be acceptable? I haven’t ever shopped at Office Depot so I’m not sure how it works. TIA!

    • Tammi

I purchased the paper and stapler today. Both rebate forms stated that copies of the receipt are acceptable.

  2. Danielle Hull

    WOW! Thanks, Collin!

  3. Laura C

I only know Staples rebate program, can someone explain Office Depot’s system? Can you do multiple rebates on a single receipt?

    • Elizabeth

Thanks for the link to the rebate. It actually says to send a ‘copy of the receipt’.

  4. Emily

Collin, I did a large ($100+) purchase at Office Depot last time there were a lot of free after workliferewards items. Remember that one, back in June? Anyway, the rewards never showed up in my account. I’ve contacted them through their website trying to get an answer, and nada! Do you have a good number for corporate to call? And have any of your readers run into this problem before? What should I do to handle it best?

    Thanks for the help, everyone!

    • Emily

I just checked my account again and it looks like most of them did finally show up. It is about $8 short, but I will probably just accept that rather than arguing with anyone. 🙂 My time is worth more than that!

Can anyone please explain how does their rebate program work? I looked over their website and could not find any rebate form for the free items. How are we suppose to sublitt the rebates? Also, do I need to get multiple receipts?
    Thanks

    • MA

Go to wwwofficedepot.com and on the upper right side of the page, just above where you click to view their ad, I believe, are three short lines of words. One of these has to do with get rebates, I believe is how it is worded. That is how you get the forms. You can also call Customer Service if you have any problems getting them, but be sure you look at them B4 you order the item if you want to get the rebate, to be sure it is going to be valid.

BEFORE you order an item with a rebate, be sure to either print out or read the rebate. Was thinking of ordering the Colored Sheet Protectors, but the rebate is ONLY good on instore purchases. I believe this is a new twist, so beware that you don’t purchase expecting a rebate, and then not be able to do it.

I also should have had quite a few worklife rewards from several large orders, but when I called the co. to see exactly how they worked, none were showing. They had no record of them! So keep your own records, people! And check them a short while after you order and if they are not showing-call!

Can someone tell me if they’ve printed the Rebate Form for the Copy Paper, how you got it? I can’t get it to print. Thanks much.

If you are looking for the online shopping version, here’s a link:

      http://forms.young-america.com/94580_OD0502209-2010-07-07.pdf

If that doesn’t work, go to the rebate center and use “office supplies” for product type and “symantec” (don’t aske me why) for manufacturer. The online rebate is slightly different in value ($5.49).

The in-store version prints out at the register.

See reply to Item 10 below (10.1.1.1)

I don’t do the rewards…seems like a pain in the butt to me. The rebates where you get Visa gift cards seem a lot less frustrating, and I’ve never had a problem receiving them (and they’re usually more or less *quick* in turnaround, plus it’s like cash, so you don’t have to buy more office supplies.

To answer the question of the person asking about multiple receipt copies, anytime I’ve had multiple mail-in rebates on one order, it automatically printed out multiple receipts. I would definitely check though before you walk away, just in case! HTH 🙂

  8. Melanie

the rebate on the markers and paper seem like they are Office Depot rebates. Is office Deport going to give you the rebate knowing you also combined it with their coupon of $10 off$25??? Does anyone know if the rebates can be combined with another offer?

    • Emily

      I’m wondering this, too.

  9. Aiesha

Where can you find the Office Depot paper rebate form? I checked on their rebates website but nothing came up…

    • Tammi

If you are going to the store, it prints out at the cash register.

      • BIRDIE

No rebate certificates were offered when I purchased the stapler, markers and paper
today. I was told that I could get them online. I entered all the requested info, but
was rewarded with: NO RECORD OF THIS REBATE. Anyone else have the same
        problem with the officedepot.com site?

        • BIRDIE

I found my answer. If you use officedepot.com, go to the Rebate Center on the upper
right corner of the home page, as Tammi said. BUT….. enter only the item # without the dash in the Product SKU box. DO NOT ENTER ANY OTHER INFORMATION, and the next page will be your product description that you will click on for the mail in form.

  10. DEREK

Maybe someone can help me out here–I got three of the mechanical pencils and 3 rebate forms printed out showing 3x at the top…do I need to mail these all separately or can I fill out the forms and send them together??? I couldn’t see any concrete answer either way on the form or on their FAQs.

    • Tammi

I had the same question. I’m going to call the customer service that was listed on the bottom of the rebate form, but they aren’t open until tomorrow morning.

      • DEREK

I had the same thoughts–can you post your answer tomorrow. I’ll call too and we’ll see what happens–hopefully we all get the same answer, eh? 🙂

      • DEREK

I just called and the automated message actually gave me the answer–if you get multiple rebates of something, you have to send them all separately. As to if they combine the payment or not I’m not sure–1 larger gift card would be nice though, but a rebate is a rebate, so I’ll take it!! 🙂

I just bought a whole bunch of the mail-in savings items and then noticed it says “Limit two mail-in savings per household/business”. Does that mean 2 separate transactions or two items?? I actually ended up with 7 items for mail-in savings. Anyone know if that means I’m out of luck on 5 of them?

  12. TARA

I think the limit amount is for each item ie; markers: limit 1, stapler: limit 1, paper: limit 2, sheet protectors: limit 3, pencils: limit 3. Hope that helps

  13. BIRDIE

I purchased the Swingline stapler with the $13.99 rebate on July 12, and mailed it to
LightTouch Stapler Offer in Lake Bluff, IL on 13 July. On July 29, after no acknowledgement of my mail in, I called the number on the rebate form. I was told
that they were in El Paso, and do not handle Swingline or ACCO rebates sent to Illinois. I was unable to find a number for the address in Illinois. An inquiry sent to the email address shown on the same rebate form, and received the same negative answer.
    Anyone else get this rejection???
