Hey girls there is a code for 15 swagbucks on the blog…not sure when it expires.

    • Mandy

Thanks for the tip 🙂 on the blog!

  2. Our Nifty Notebook

I was at WM today and saw the $1 markers. Does anyone know why these sales never include the washable markers? Bummer!

  3. Leighann

You know, I have spent a lot of time going through the Wal Mart deals, getting the coupons together, at the store browsing the shelves….and every single time I have done this, the prices are my store are significantly higher than the prices listed here. One example: Wheat Thins, on sale for $1.98, with a $1/1 coupon, makes them .98c each. I print out the coupon, I get to the store, and my Wheat Thins are $2.98. Another example: Pepperidge Farm goldfish, on sale for $1.58, with a 50c/1 coupon, makes them $1.08 each. My Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers are $1.98.

I wish that my Wal Mart would get with the times, because I have just about given up even getting any good deals down here in south Mississippi. No sales, no clearance, no coupons in the newspapers….what is a woman to do?

    • Melissa R.

Did you scan the item to do a price ck? I’m in the habit now to always price ck, b/c I do the same thing as you, make a list and get my q’s together, only to see the shelf price is not the same. A lot of times, I’ll price ck and it’ll come up the rollback or sale price. So even though the shelf tag says one thing, just take it to the scanner, you might be surprised!

Where at in MS are you located? If you’re along the coast (like Biloxi, Gulfport) I find the WM prices there are not the same as here (I’m in the NOLA area) b/c its like a tourist destination, so prices tend to be a bit higher.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hey neighbor, I’m in Slidell. I also find that a Walmart right off of an Interstate tends to be slightly higher

    • Karen

Walmart has three “price levels” of stores – 1, 2, 3. The stores near a Target or other large discount stores are the least expensive ones because of the competition. About half of their stores fall into that category. However, there are those lone stores in towns that have no other option nearby for discount shopping so WM can demand slightly higher prices.

      • Mrs.Hall

I agree. If possible..always try and go to a larger town where their Walmart has competition. The one smaller Walmart I live about 20 minutes away from is $1.00 or more expensive then the one about 40 minutes away that is right across the street from a Target. I’m okay with driving the extra because with my coupons I save so much more.

My son loves Ovaltine and the one closer wants like $3.94 where the bigger one is only $2.64. The one farther away has other stores to compete with too other then Target so they try and price match them or beat them. The one closer only has Safeway and so they don’t bring their prices down hardly ever.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I learned this the hard way. Here we have a WM, A Target, and 2 grocery stores all within walking distance of one another. Still the WM is always jam-packed and filthy dirty as a result. So I thought I would get smart and drive the 9 miles down the road to the WM in a town of 5k – significantly higher prices.

I don’t mind as I usually don’t shop WM or coupon there for that matter, when I do go I prefer a peaceful shop and little-no waiting in checkout to the hellacious store we have here, that being said I only feed two mouths so kudos to the women/men that brave the busy store.

But thanks for the info, good to know I wasn’t imagining things.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

you know i just had a reality ck I am getting married in oct i went to WM to get these serving heat things we have 2 WM where I am and the one off the hwy is always higher, they wanted 10.00 when the other WM by my house wanted 7.50, and they wont match with other WM either

    • Reagan Collum

Leighann I live in South Mississippi (Vancleave) and I write a blog about saving money with coupons. I find in general our prices are a little higher on most things than everywhere else around the country (even are close Mobile, AL neighbors). I rarely shop Walmart because I can get just as good of deals at other stores. And our Walmart stores are sticks in the mud! A lot of that has to do with the fact that there are not many “hardcore” couponers in this area, so all the stores are still learning when people like “us” come in!

Would love to talk to you about our local stores! I’m on Facebook too: House of Collums

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Same here…..Wisconsin……my Wal-Mart prices were much higher on some items (I went specifically for the notebooks, folders and crayons). All of those items were 4 times higher. Frustration! It doesn’t help that I’m not usually a Wal-Mart shopper, at least in Wisconsin — so not getting any of the deals I went for put a monkey wrench in the day.

  4. Anne-Marie

we just have a regular walmart in town (not a superwalmart) and i find that the prices are never like the ones posted. maybe because i am in a smaller town? haven’t figured it out yet.

  5. marilynn

I have long been an empty nester, but I love these back to school sales! There are way more
boxes of 10¢ crayolas than I will ever use already in my junk drawers, and I have enough notebook
filler paper to never have to purchase any again, and I have never seen a cheap ruler sale I didn’t love! lol But still, you gotta love those sales! : )

    • JL

You can donate your suplies. I just donated some things to Boys and Girls club of America. I with you I can’t pass up the deals.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What zip code for the Brawny Paper Towels? The one I printed is $1 off any double pack not single.

  7. Takako

I got really good deals at Walmat today. Ghirardelli chocolate (reg. $3) was on sale for $1.50 then I had 2 coupons for $1/1 so it was 50 cents a bag(6.38oz.)!! Also I found Bic Soleil triple blade for women (4 pack) was rollback @ $3.97 (reg. 5.62) then had 2 coupons for $3/1 so it was 97 cents each!! Additionally, I scored lots of sale stuff in these days. They were $1 and $3 kids shoes (got several), Miley Cyrus jeans were $3 (got 3), Miley Cyrus tops and other bottoms were $1 (got more than 10!! Hey, it was a buck each anyway!!) and other great sales.
I LOVE TARGET but I don’t have time very often to drive to nearest store which is about 2 hours away… Oh well, I guess at least I got some sales… Hope I’ll go soon for summer clearance sales!!

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i can’t get a hold of a degree deodorant coupon… and the one listed above give me an error… anyone else able to get it??

  9. judy

marilynn i volunteer for the homeless children during the school year. children are always needing the school supplies. you may want to look around at different stores for a drop box for school supplies. you also can check with the school district in your area to see if they have a program such as this. i am the same way can’t miss a deal and that is how this started. i had way to many school supplies and donated them to the school which is how i found out about the education program for the homeless children. it has been a very rewarding experience for me and it doesn’t cost much.

  10. Mrs.Hall

No more prints for the Crystal Light 🙁

    • JL

If the sample pf Crystal light is still available you should sign up for it. I think it was on facebook. I just gor my sample and it came with 3 $2.00 0ff 1 box of crystal light pure fitness which translated ibto 3 free!!!

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Where can I find the “All You” magezines?

    • Takako

You can only find at Walmart because they published. Usually by the cashier area. I think they make 2 magazines per month.

  12. Reagan Collum

Oh and the original reason for my comment…the Brawny coupon I found there was for $1/2 two packs 🙁

  13. marilynn

All You magazines are available at Walmart, or you can subscribe. It is easy to find online to subscribe to, but hard to find a cheap deal on it. They do offer a two months free trial. I did subscribe a couple months ago, but still have not even received my first issue yet, so I don’t know it is worth the cost yet or not.

    • Takako

I thought subscription is better way to save money as well but when I compare the price, I just buy from the store. They charge you pretty much same price anyway. Also they don’t have discount subscription offer (well, so far I don’t find). Usually you can get first magazine within couple months. When I tried start Taste of Home magazine, it tooks about that long. You can contact publisher like I had done. Hope you can get the magazine really soon!!

  14. Smitha

Does anyone know the zip code for Mariani dried fruit?
I too have found out the hard way that the prices in our nearby Walmart are never like the ones posted. So I am extra careful now. 🙂

  15. jillre

My cashier would not let me use the $2 coupon on the Shyck razors that cost $1.97 because the coupon was over the amount of the item. I asked her if she could manually just give me credit for the $1.97 but she said she could not. Has this happened to anyone else? Just wondering if this is really true?

    • jjgpaq

yeah, just ask them to round down the coupon. Most of the time the cashiers will do it others have to “check with the manager”. I had $1.00 coupon for Tide and used it on the travel size .97. The manager told me she could not give me money back. I said sure no problem. Just round down the coupon. Heck either way it is free to me….Really that is all I care about. LOL

  16. Hayden

High prices at my Walmart also – and it sits between two Targets so I never go…but today I did. These prices are from a central Texas Walmart.

    Goldfish – $1.98
    Tombstone – $4
    Neutrogena Facial Wipes- $4.98
    Poptarts – $1.78 except strawberry $1.60

Jello, Crystal Light & Pampers Wipes were all priced as posted – except our regional jello coupon expired 7/6.

*If anyone else got the Crystal Light Vocalpoint sample – there was a $2 off 1 Pure Fitness making them free. They do bring up the message when the coupon is scanned since the coupon is for more – but my cashier just pushed it through. Nice cashier!

  17. Ruth

I can’t find the zip code for the Mariane dried fruit, If anybody can tell me please!!!!!

  18. Tiffany

I just received the August issue of All You Mag today & the Schick razor coupon is not in it. Was it in the July issue?

  19. Smilingapple

I’ve heard all of the people say that their prices are different from the ones posted. Is there anyone who has the posted prices? I’m in SC and we don’t have them. Poptarts here were $1.78 at one store and $2.00 at another. I’d love to know where they were $1.13. Just curious 🙂

  20. Marija

    Hi,
thank yo all for posting all the deals at Walmart. I hate shopping there, but we are REALLY ON TIGHT BUDGET and I have to look for the best deals for my family. I spend at least 3 hours on Wed. and Sat. each week to figure out the beast deal possible. I hate to say this but I find it quite exhilirating to be able to go and purchase $60 .and pay only $20. I am one of those fools that paid premium for everything before I had my wonderful daughter and husband. Live and learn.
I just wanted to say how greatly your post are appreciated at our household. We have been couponing for the last 3 months. What a blast!!
