Walgreens: Expo Markers Deal Gets Sweeter!
Audrey, a reader, emailed about finding Expo Marker packages with bonus dry erase boards attached to them for the same price as the Expo Markers without the bonus item! Also, the Walgreens instant value coupon and the manufacturer’s coupon work for this item, so keep your eyes peeled for these next time you’re at Walgreens.
Deal Scenario:
Expo Washable Markers 6 pk. with bonus Dry Erase Board $5.99
Use the $1/1 coupon found here or here
Use the $3/1 coupon from the July Coupon Booklet
Final Cost ONLY $1.99 for both items!
**Check out the rest of the Walgreens weekly deals here and here.
I did this deal 2 weeks ago and shared it on a Walgreens post. The kids love them.
I found these boards yesterday as well at my local Walgreens. However, the coupon would not work for the markers with the boards, only the markers packaged by themselves. I had a great cashier who tried all different ways to get the deal to work but it wouldn’t accept it. I was disappointed, but knew I could find the boards very cheap at a teacher supply store, so the markers were still a great buy!
Off topic…
Did anyone read the article on Yahoo this morning about the pitfalls to couponing – it’s hilarious! You can tell it was done by a person who does not understand the whole system.
Read story here:

Ok, that is hilarious! Couponing/strategic shopping/stockpiling has saved my family thousands of dollars! We cut our grocery budget in half by COUPONING. Who in there right mind would want to pay full retail for something? :~)
yes I read it and dont agree with it. If they only knew how much we save every week.
That’s okay, more deals for those of us who “GET IT”!!!
Too funny…on comment 5 they say coupons make you buy “unhealthy products”, then they turn around on comment 7 and and tell you to buy ice cream without the coupon…make up your mind…ridiculous article by someone who doesn’t understand.
Lol… I was thinking the same thing about the ice cream.
Anon- This was a good laugh thanks for sharing it
You’re welcome! It was just too funny not to share with “real couponers” who understand the benefits!
I have had it with my Walgreens. I went there today and I took quite a bit of time getting all of the deals and coupons ready. It always seems there prices arent the same as in the ad or arent on sale at all. The register rewards arent listed at my store or arent the same as the ad. I did send them an email, we will see what response I get back.
I don’t blame you April, Walgreens is always a headache for me so I have decided not to bother with them either. I spent 2 hours at their register one evening ringing up everything seperate because of their ridiculous policy of 1 RR per order even though I had added items (as fillers) that I didn’t even need just to use them at one time. My life is stressed enough as it is and if going to Walgreens to try to save money makes it more stressful then I’ll just wait for CVS to sale the item.
I tried this deal yesterday at my walgreens in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I wasn’t sure it would work bacause of the bonus board. This item was ringing up at $5.39. I gave the cashier the MQ first and then the $3 WAG Expo Coupon. It worked. Final OOP $1.51.
They are 7.99 at my walgreens ( markers with board). ๐
The markers alone are on sale for 5.99. $1.99 after both coupons ๐
Same at our store.
They were marked on the shelf at my store (Republic, MO) as $7.99, but rang up as $5.99. So the deal ended up working here.
Mine were also marked for 7.99 but in fact rang up 5.99 make sure you price check!
Do any of the coupons beep
Yes the printed ones do! I went last night and got 4 boards w/ markers and they were marked $7.99 but rang up $5.99. I presented the IVC $3 off expo 6pk washable markers coupon first and no beeps. Took off $12. Then I handed over my 4 printed $1 off any expo washable product MQ and they beeped. The cashier called over the manager and after looking them over several times, she pushed them thru. I paid just over $8 for 4 boards w/ markers!
Went to my Walgreens and when I gave them my coupons the cashier (even though she knows me) called the manager because my Celcius and Smart Source coupons did not have a watermark where the expiration date is. They went ahead and took them because they know me and I do have ethics…but said the Wallgreens are going to STOP taking coupons without the watermark because people are copying them. Even the cashier had her coupons with her and none of the smart source have a watermark.
My Walgreens had to key in the internet coupon because they beeped. Sweet deal…
Anyone else having trouble using both coupons? My Walgreens will not take both even when I hand over the internet ones first. They tell me they can’t take 2 coupons for one item. They say the Walgreen’s coupon book counts as manufacturer coupons. I’ve now tried 2 different Walgreens.
YES!! ๐ Went to a larger city on Friday…had no problem at all with both coupons. I only bought one and then decided I had better buy one more…went to my small town store today and they said the same thing! Grrrr! Should I even try to call corporate about this? This is my first time ever trying to use 2 coupons at Walgreens!
What a great resource!
