Have you been debating whether to join a warehouse club like Sam’s Club?! Although Warehouse Clubs do not always offer the best prices on items like cereal, canned goods, and snack foods, they typically offer a great selection of fresh produce and meats. Through August 1st, Sam’s Club is offering all new Sam’s Club members a $20 gift card with their membership (keep in mind that membership fees start at $40 a year so the gift card essentially makes the membership only $20)! Check out the Sam’s Club Facebook page for more information about this offer.

If you are a college student, then you’ll definitely want to check out the Sam’s Club Collegiate Membership. Currently, you can snag a $15 Sam’s Club gift card when you sign up for a new membership or renew your existing membership (keep in mind that you will be required to present a valid student ID and university email address at the time of sign up). Plus, you’ll snag an additional $10 Sam’s Club gift card for each referred student you bring to Sam’s Club who also joins as a Collegiate Member (In order for current member to receive a $10 Sam’s Club Gift Card, the new Collegiate Member and the current member must be present at the time of sign-up)! And if a collegiate member buys textbooks through Sam’s Club service, they can snag up to a $30 gift card!

Wanna check out Sam’s Club and see if it is the store for you? Print out the one-day shopping pass found here (You will have to pay a 10% service charge on your purchase if you are not a Sam’s Club member.)

Does Sam’s take coupons? I’ve always wondered.

    • Sadie

      no they don’t

    • Collin

No, Sam’s Club does not accept manufacturer or competitor’s coupons. 🙁

    • Jacqulyn

thanks! We buy our diapers there when we dont have any Q’s. But I was always wondering if you could use them there. How nice it would be if we could 🙂

      • CouponClary

Do you have a BJ’s warehouse club nearby? Not only do they take coupons, but they also let you use multiple coupons per item when you by a multi-pack! (3 pack of toothpaste means you can use 3 m/q!)

  2. Ashley

I love my Sams membership. We go there and get lunch on a Saturday. Two huge slices of pizza and two huge drinks for only $5!

  3. Andrea

Do you actually need to have a pass to check it out? I’ve gone a couple of times and just told them I was thinking of joining and wanted to look at prices and never needed one.

    • Alexia

You do not have to have a pass to walk around and look at prices, but you are required to have one if you decide to purchase anything. They ask for your membership card to scan before you begin checking out.

I love Sam’s. Although they don’t accept the coupons, most of the stuff is cheaper (in my area anyway) than even if you COULD use the coupon. LOVE my coupons, but I LOVE Sam’s Club too!

this stinks deal is only for new members – i have a card that needs to be renewed… not doing it though… my savings at sams is way less than my coupon savings

    • Natty

Ours too. Once our son got off of formula, there was no need to renew our membership.

    • Crissy

I agree it’s a bummer when companies do things for new customers only. How about rewarding your loyal customers?!

  6. Angie

I love Sam’s too, but you have to be careful about what you buy there. It’s nice that you can check the prices on the website before you go to the actual store. To save more money, you can ‘split’ your membership with someone since you get 2 cards per account.

  7. anon

Does anyone know how much is the college student sam’s card?

    • Janie

It’s still the regular $40 and you only get a $15 gift card for renewing or joining…but if you bring friends with you who join as well, you get more $$ on your gift card. It’s really the only difference. 🙂

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

We decided to join yesterday! So we missed this offer by one day 🙁

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You have to be careful about “splitting” the cost of the membership with someone. The complimentary household card is for someone else in your home that is over the age of 18. Some clubs are sticklers to this rule and will not give a card to someone who has a different address on their ID. Also, if you have a membership up for renewal, simply purchase a new membership. Typically they won’t check to see if you already have one and you will get the new membership number and qualify for the gift card. The collegiate membership is $40 but you get the $15 gift card back when you sign up and every year when you renew. Although Sam’s Club does not currently accept coupons, they do have a program called E-Values that you will qualify for under a plus membership. It is essentially store coupons that automaticall come off during checkout when you purchase that item. I’ve heard mixed reviews, some people benefit from the program others don’t. You can always request to downgrade the membership and receive a refund if you find that it is not for you. They do accept EBT cards. Right now it is for member’s only, but pretty soon the member’s guests will be able to use them as well. As far as shopping without a membership, you can on a one day pass; however, you will have to pay a 10% upcharge on the unit price of each item unless you purchase the membership. You can also shop as a guest when you go with someone who has a membership. Thought I would just throw those few things out there since I work for Sam’s Club corporate.

how good are the q w the`plus service if we get it it would b moreso for the meat

FYI… There is a Back to School event coming up Aug 6-8, where you get a free take and bake pizza and a free rotisserie chicken when you sign up for membership. Also, you will not have to pay the upcharge these three days, so you can shop without a membership and without a fee. This is the tax free weekend in Alabama, so its a huge opportunity to give Sam’s a try and get some great deals!! If you need computers, clothing, furniture or supplies, this is a great time to come and look around!!

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My husband and I decided that the items we used to get at sams, i get much cheaper now that i follow your site and got into couponing. We feel that the membership is a waste of money for us.

  13. miranda braxton

how could i get a sam card in the mail

  14. Lori

On their FB page, people are saying the $20 giftcard is only for the $100 membership. Anyone know if this is true?
