Rite Aid Deals 8/1-8/7

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

**Don’t forget that you can go on over here and participate in the Rite Aid Video Value program! Watch videos to earn various Rite Aid coupons including a $5/$25 coupon that can be found here! There is also a $5/$25 coupon available at Red Plum (use zip code 19136)

Be sure to join the Rite Aid Wellness Program… all the details can be found here. For more information about the new Rite Aid +UP Reward program, click here. Keep in mind that Rite Aid now limits the use of video values coupons to one per member. The +UP Reward program has a default limit of one unique offer per wellness+ household per week. Thus, unless it’s advertised, differently, that is the limit. There is no limit to the number of +Up Rewards redeemed in a single transaction so long as the pretax total is greater than the combined value of the +UP Rewards. For easy understanding, it’s best to think of these rewards as gift cards, except that you cannot leave a balance on them or use them to purchase less than the value of the +UP Reward .

*Please keep in mind that different products may be available in different regions and your weekly ad may differ slightly from the weekly deals below!

    Would this deal scenario work?
Buy 5 Pro-Health Rinses (4/$20) $25 <— Do you think this would be price for 5?
Use 5 $2/1 coupons from the 8/1 PG
    Use $5/$25 coupon at RedPlum
    Pay $10
Get back a $10 Single Check Rebate #39
Get a $5 Rite Aid gift card from the Oral Care Single Check Rebate (when you buy $15 or more of select oral care products)
Final Cost FREE + $5 moneymaker!!

    • Holly

at $25 you qualify for the $10 Rite Aid gift card…but I have a hunch that 5th one would not be $5

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i believe the rp coupon expires today, so you would need to use one of you vv 5/25 coupons

    • rebecca

another blog I follow suggested doing 4 crest mouthwashes and 1 listerine mouthwash (there’s a VV coupon for it). should come out to 25.99, get $10 scr, and qualify for the $10 gc.

    • Samantha

Can you get a $5/$20 VV coupon this month? Then you would only need 4 rinses. Or you could always do another deal that was $5 + to use a $5/$25.

  2. Laurie

I noticed in Collins comments about the +UP rewards that they are only ONE unique offer per wellness + household. I bought several of the Mens Nivea Body Wash this week, one of my transactions had 3, and I received three separate $1 +UP rewards as the end of my receipt. Am I reading this wrong or does this mean something else? Also, does the cash register not recognize your second VV coupon for the same item if it is done in a separate transaction.? I am new to this and trying to figure it all out. Thanks

    • Jennifer Ostach

@ Laurie – they are changing it THIS week, so as of last week, you could get more, hence the $3 for the Nivea.

    • Christa K.

The new ‘one +up reward per account/household’ policy starts this week.

    • shannon

i think the 1 per wellness card is a new thing that is just being implemented tomorrow. i will be interested to see how it works out in the comments here after some people go ahead and try it!

      • shannon

didnt mean to repeat everyone else! when i started typing there werent any comments there! 🙂

    • Samantha

Glad you ladies posted this; I had forgotten and would have messed up this week!

  3. nicci

I tried to use $12 worth of UP Rewards today that expired a couple days ago and my Rite Aid wouldn’t take them!!!! I didn’t rush to use them because I assumed they would take them like CVS does. Does anyone know if they should accept them? I’m bummed, I’m out $12!

    • kelly

Same thing happened to me. Mine was one day expired and she said sorry you can’t use it. $10 down the drain!

    • Bethany

I don’t know how CVS does things but if the +UP Rewards were expired I don’t see how you expected them to take them. What would the point of an expiration date be then?

      • Emma

Bethany, if you shopped cvs then you would understand what they said. They are the same concept.. ups and ecbs… you can use ecbs after they expire for an unlimited amount of time… In fact, many stores take coupons after they have expired…. the theory “what’s the point of expieration dates” is very wrong… clearly you havent couponed long enough.

    • Lolo

CVS is a ymmv store. Some of my CVS’s will take expired ecbs up to a week old (no longer than that) and others of mine will not take them at all. It is up to the manager whether or not to take them. They then have to fight with corporate to get paid if it is tooo expired. Therefore I would say stay on top of the game with your Up rewards and do not let them expire. Walgreens does not accept expired RR’s either so I would never assume Rite Aid would take expired Up rewards. So to answer your question if Rite Aid should accept them: well it would be nice, however I would NOT expect them too so No I would say they are in the right here. Do your due diligence.

      • cjs

A Wags store near me took some of my RR’s a day after they expired. With any expired coupon/reward/ECB, it is best to check with the store manager (In my case, I called to ask for the manager on duty before I went in to use it, and asked her if she would make an exception). All stores are different (clearly, even the same chain stores in different locations), and may/may not accept expireds. Hope this helps.

    • Samantha

Yes, it’s best to try to use any coupons or rewards by the expiration date. I will ask a manager if I can use something if it has gotten overlooked and is a few days past the exp. date and sometimes they will take it. None of my local Walgreens or CVS stores will take any RRs or EBs past the date as a rule, but CVS will sometimes accept CRTs after the date.

Last week I tried to use a +Up reward and the computer said that it had already been redeemed. I figured out that it was because it had been scanned before when I was paying for something and then realized I didn’t have enough product to use the reward…..so I paid with cash. Basically it had been scanned and then voided so not actually redeemed. I explained this to the mgr and she said that they could override it. Unfortunately for them, they just have to take their customer’s word for it at this point.

    • Mary

I called customer service and they will not take expired up money…no way no how…I think if we all call customer service and complain they might consider changing the policey.

      • Melissa R.

why should they? It has an expiration date for a reason. Its to get you back in the store. If you don’t use it, you loose it. JMHO 😉

  4. San

Which page is the BenGay in-ad coupon please? I don’t see it in mine…

    • Kristin

I can not find it either…Can anyone help with this Bengay in ad coupon where is it??

  5. Sean

I’m confused too. I know there is a new policy this week and from the above it has to do with both VV coupons and +UP? If so, is it true that I can only use 1 VV coupon per month? In which case, I only get to use the $5/$25 once a month? And, on the +UP, if I buy more than 1 item that has a +UP, I will only receive 1+UP no matter how many I buy? Please help.

    • Kelley C

You can get more than one +UP reward per transaction just not on multiples of the same item unless otherwise stated.

  6. Tammi

I read in Collin’s comments about the limit on Video Values coupons. Is that limit one $5 off coupon per month, or one $5 off coupon ever? Thanks for your help!

    • Corrine

it starts over each month. so you could print one per month after watching all the necessary videos. some people used to print more than one in a month and it used to work but now they are coded so that you can only use one. hth!

      • Tammi

Thanks so much for your response. That helped a lot!

    • Samantha

There are two $5/$25 coupons available to print from the video values this month. HTH!

  7. Sean

Why do they let you earn more than one if they won’t let you use more than one? This is a bummer. So only one $5/$25 but the other VV we can use in addition to manufacturer’s and in ad coupons right?

    • Sean

Also, I’m noticing in the ad, certain items say 1 per household. So, I imagine there will only be 1+UP per wellness card?

    • tammy - LadySavings

Sean- You can use one of each VV, so there are actually (2) $5/$25 coupons that can be used, one for earning 20 credits, and one for watching a particular video-can’t remember what it was about?!- can you tell I don’t “watch” them too well:). You can also print $5/$25 from Redplum to use – Collin has a zipcode in her post in case you don’t see it under yours. I don’t think I would shop at Rite Aid if I didn’t have a $5/$25 coupon – I LOVE those coupons 🙂

    • TeresaT

I used my reward one $5 off $25 the other day but I still had the one that’s $5 off $25 if you watch one particular video. I tried to use that one today and the cashier told me that I already used mine. He said there was nothing he could do. I don’t understand! They’re two different coupons! Maybe I should write to Rite Aid and let them know what happened to me.

BTW, there were some diapers marked down 50% off, and I picked up some Pampers Pull ups for $5.99 and still got my UP rewards and is qualified for the Single Rebate check too. I used a $3 off coupon that I received from VocalPoint so I got them for free! Yippee!

  8. Erin

Quick question…on the Veet/Clearisil deal she mentions using 2 coupons for veet and 2 for clearisil….if it is a BOGO how can you use a coupon on the free item. I thought that was not allowed? I thought I could use a coupon on my first veet and then the other veet is just free but no coupon is allowed for it. Could someone explain please? Thanks so much!!!

    • sonnig

when items are featured ona BOGO promotion, up to 2 coupons can be used.

  9. tammy - LadySavings

There was a VV coupon from July for the StaphAseptic First Aid Gel, 2oz for $4.00 off! This will make it a Money Maker!! Here’s the deal:

StaphAseptic First Aid Gel 2 oz. $10.99
Get a $7 Single Check Rebate
Use the $1/1 coupon found in Collin’s post
Stack with $4 Video Value Coupon
    Pay $5.99 (get $7 SCR) = $1.01 Money Maker 🙂

    • Kat

I am not seeing a VV for the StaphAseptic. ????

      • Samantha

You would have had to watch the video in July to redeem the coupon.HTH!

      • tammy - LadySavings

yea- it was for July so you would have already had to watch it. I usually try to watch them all since you never know what’s going to make for a great deal!

        • Samantha

Me, too. I would never have thought that I would want to purchase hair clippers a month or two ago, but missed out on FREE hairclippers the following month since I didn’t watch the video. =( I just print the coupons as I need them.

  10. Mel

I can’t find the $5 off $25 thru the Red Plum link? Is it gone or am I over looking it?

    • tammy - LadySavings

When I went to print the $5/$25, I was thinking it was gone too:( However, if you just type RedPlum.com instead of going thru a link and then type 43601 for the zip you should see it. When typing Redplum.com, it also gives you a search feature so you could also just search for Rite Aid. Hope you find it!

      • Mel

        THANKS!! Your suggesting was perfect.

        • tammy - LadySavings

You’re welcome 🙂 Glad you were able to get it!

  11. Mary

Not sure if they are still there, but I saw the possibilty of getting three $5/$25 qs from the video values. The 20 credit one and then two under Rite Aid. Also, they do not limit the red plum ones, I hope they reset soon.

I am glad I took advantage of the up rewards last week, here is my blog. https://frugalphillips.blogspot.com/2010/08/rite-aid-rocks.html

  12. Mary

Also, I had a cashier tell me last week that I can use only one upreward per purchase. Is there a link to the new policy?

  13. Kat

Above you state, ” The +UP Reward program has a default limit of one unique offer per wellness+ household per week. Thus, unless it’s advertised, differently, that is the limit. There is no limit to the number of +Up Rewards redeemed in a single transaction”

These two sentences seem to contradict each other. Can you explain this a little further?

    • Erin

For example, you can earn one Up reward (of $1.50) on the Crest. If you buy another Crest, you will not get another Up reward, unless the ad explicitly states a higher limit. However, you can use multiple (different) Up rewards as payment in a single transaction, like ECBs. For example, I have a $1 Glad, $1 Listerine, and $2 Rembrandt from last week that I can use together as payment for an order of $4 or more.

    • Samantha

It does look confusing, but the second sentence states there are no limits to how many can be redeemed, not earned. There is a limit of one that you can earn.

  14. tami

as to the there is no limit of up rewards redeemed in a single transaction, in the Portland
oregon area, i have had 4 stores state that you can only use 1 up reward per transaction.
I have been told that within the last week. When i spoke to the various managers, they said that is the new policy & they are sticking to it.

  15. Samantha

    Last week I saw a $1/3 manufacturer’s coupon for the Hunt’s snack packs on http://www.target.com .

  16. Megan

So I’m a little confused on the VV coupon. So I couldn’t use the $2 VV for the Maybelline Flashies Mascara and a $1 VV for Listerine in the same transaction; they would have to be seperate transactions if I wanted to use those q’s?

    • Melissa R.

No, you can use different VV coupons in the same transaction, there’s just no more printing multiples of the same VV reward coupon. I just started last week, but apparently, before the changes, you could print the same VV offer multiple times. Not anymore.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks! I’ll feel a bit more confident when I go after work today. 🙂

  17. Tina

how does the oral care single check rebate work? do you have to purchase all items in one transaction? also, do you do anything differently to enter your receipt or just do it the same way as other rebates? and lastly, can you get more than one gift card if you purchase lots of oral care products?
    thanks!

    • Melissa R.

no, you don’t have to buy everything at once. The $5 or $10 GC deal is valid 7/25 – 9/25, so 2 months to acquire $25 (or $15) worth! Once you enter your receipt and it clears, the oral care promo will be show up in a separate request box from the August SCR.
The limit is 1 GC for all purchases made during the rebate period.

      • ttronco

        thank you!!

  18. julie

I have bought enough product for the Glam Bag SCR, can I submit that now?? or do i need to wait till the end of the month period to request that SCR I earned?? Thank you

    • Amber P

You can request it now. If you look at your SCRs the Glam Bag SCR should be listed separately from the rest of your August 2010 SCRs. As long as it is listed under it’s own heading, you can request it now, and still request your August SCR at the end of the month.

  19. Kim

What zip code do you need for the Pro Foot coupons? I’ve tried several and none of them are resulting in the coupons we need.

    • Amber P

I found hang tags and peelies on all of the pro-foot products at my store, so you may want to just try that 🙂 They were all for $1.00 off, so they all eneded up being free. I can’t gurantee they’ll be in every store, but it’s worth checking. HTH 😀

  20. Amanda

I was wondering. I have used my VV from my account and my husbands on the same trans. Will I not be able to do that anymore?

    • Kim

Aren’t you only suppose to have one account per household?

      • Lori Clark

I was told that some managers encourage each individual to get a wellness card. The wellness cards can be used for screenings and such at RA and are only good for the cardholder. So they want each person to be able to take advantage of those screenings.

  21. Alicia

I think the ben gay coupon must be regional?

  22. Mila

How long does it normally take on average to get the single check rebates back?

    • Nancy

It normally takes about a week to 1 1/2 weeks and remember you can request your rebate check once a month only so you want to make sure you input all of your receipts before requesting your check.

  23. Julia

Have a question on the Ben-Gay scenario. Can we stack a MQ with an in-ad Q AND a VV?

    • stephers

yes, I’ve never had issues at my Riteaid, they accept one VV one Manu and one in-ad

  24. Julia

    Hello!
I have a question about Glam Camp bag. So I bought products originally costing more than 10 dollars. After using coupons my total cost for them was 7 dollars. I wonder how they will count it towards free bag. Don’t they just look at receipt’s total that’s 7 dollars which is less than needed amount for a free bag?
    thank you for your attention!

    • Ashley

My experience is that it always works before coupons for me. If it doesn’t work for some reason you can always submit additional receipts to satisfy that requirement.

  25. luckygirl
