Don’t you need the magazine to play? 🙁

  2. Kerri

Do I have to have the magazine to scan the tag on my iphone?

    • Kerri

Thank you! I figured it out.

  3. Brittany

How will you find out if you won?

    • Alea

Usually with their giveways – they don’t notify you – you just get them in the mail.

      • Brittany

Yay! Maybe I will have a surprise waiting in my mailbox 🙂 To bad you dont find out though.

  4. Julie

Can you win multiple things??? I didn’t see anything that you can’t!:)

  5. Melissa R.

Yeah, they just show up. 2 years ago, I entered almost every day and won a bunch of stuff!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

how long does it take for the stuff to come in the mail?

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Can you enter every hour or is it just once everyday and do you fill out that form everytime?

    • Alea

      You can enter every hour.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

THANK YOU and do I fill out that same form?

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What time is 12:00 EST is CST?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      sorry i mean EDT

    • Anna in NC

      EST is Eastern Standard time
      CST is Central Standard time

Has to do with where you live. I live in NC so I am on EST (Eastern Standard Time). Not sure if this answers your question. HTH – Anna

    • Sarah

Central time is one hour behind eastern time. So if it’s 12 EST, it’s 11 CST.

  8. susie

i feel like i’m going in circles – i clicked on the “enter here!” link and signed up for everything, and then opted to not refer a friend. i went back to the main page, and it says i’m logged in but when i go to the calendar page it says “log on to enter to win” but i’m already logged in? is there no confirmation about whether or not you’ve been entered in any contest?

    • thecouponer

I’m wondering the same thing. do you just log in and out every hour?

  9. runfromreality

Soooo…do you have to fill out all of the same info each time one of the prizes are up for grabs? I already registered so is there a different spot to enter or do you just use the same registration form for each prize? {:-\

  10. Gumbo Steve

Damn confusing. Trying to win for my three girls. Since when is EST = EDT? Do you just log in and log out for each hour?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

EDT = Eastern Daylight Time (Daylight Savings Time)

  11. xraychik512

Soo, do you have to have a smartphone? I don’t have one! 🙁

  12. Dee

I’ve won from Allure a lot in the past, they do take a long time to ship the prize, sometimes up to six months.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Whoa! This is one crazy contest. All the time to sign up each hour and may or may not get anything in 6 months….Hmmm…I don’t even know if I’m doing it right. But some of you have won stuff…so I guess it’s worth a try…maybe…if I happen to be on the computer…(o:

  13. meganph

this doesn’t make sense. so, i just fill out the complete registration form every hour that there is a giveaway and i am entered? there is no conformation or anything.

    • Ann Dee

That’s what it sounds like to me. Weird, huh?

  14. Sara

Well I am glad I am not the only one scratching my head about this. I just keep filling out the form ever hour and hope its right 🙂 Good luck everyone!

  15. cindyc

Any more information???? Do we “log-in” every hour for a chance to win or do we have to re-register every hour. Why isn’t there some sort of confirmation that says you are entered and/or one an hourly prize?

  16. Sara

if you look above the refer a friend in small print it says thanks for registering… i missed it the first few times.

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have an Apple and have autofill so my info comes up automatically filled in on the form. I have been entering every hour.

Collin can you please let us know for sure if we need to enter every hour… lots of us are not sure about this. Thanks!

    • Megan

Yes, you DO have to enter every hour. That is how they determine who the first 500 or 100 entries were. HTH

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Megan! That was my thought on the “1st 500” etc.

        • Sara

I think people are getting the “log in” part confused with the big daily prize that only 1 person wins. It says next to it “log in” on that day to enter to win. However for the rest its an hourly thing as previously posted by Megan 🙂

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just got asked for the color on the eyeshadow entry, could be a good sign! Anybody else? Maybe they asked all the entries?

    • tgebbeken

      Me too! I hope I win. 🙂

    • Alea

I had to fill that in too.

  19. Andrea Thompson

That’s a great sign Megan! I entered that one and didn’t get asked for the color of eye-shadow! I bet you won that one!

I just find it hard to know exactly when to hit submit for my entry. I know everyone’s clocks are different. I remember I won a bottle of shampoo last year. They didn’t notify me that I won it just came in Sept.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have been going by the TV…I keep it on for “white noise” and when the next program starts, I hit submit. You could also set your computer clock to be in sync with the TV time and go by that.

      • Andrea Thompson

Thanks! That’s a good idea to go by the tv program! My computer clock is a minute before the tv clock so I think that’s been my problem! That’s awesome that you got prompted to pick the color of eye shadow! I’m sure you got that one!

    • Jamie

me neither and that one was given to 500 people so I must not even of had a chance on the 4 pm one that was only 100 people

  20. Carrie Z

I’ve won a lot of these. You will have no idea you won and then in a month or so, you’ll get something from the actual manufacturer and it more than likely won’t say anything about it being from Allure. Anytime I get a random beauty aid in the mail, I assume it’s from Allure! lol

  21. Amy

Ok ladies, if you have the smartphone, it’s waaaaay easier than trying to log in each hour. Set the page up that Collin has linked on this page as a favorite. Follow the instructions to download the tag reader to your phone.

Each hour open up the tag reader on your phone, open up the page you saved as a favorite and scan (take a picture) of that colored tag on the front page. It will automatically enter you in the drawing. I’ve been doing it the past few entries.

If you don’t have a smartphone, then you’re out of luck on that way, but it’s really easy.

    Good luck guys!

One question though, for anyone who knows, it says the first 100 or 500 Allure readers will win the free giveaway. Do you actually have to be an Allure reader and have a subscription, or no?

    • KRISTA

do you have to have the magazine to use the smartphone app? where do you find the thing you scan?

      • Aneta

I’m confused too, where do I find the square? In the magazine? I can’t open up a browser while using the app

  22. ec

    “This giveaway hasn’t started yet.”

    • Nancy

      I got the same thing!

    • Claire

i’m still getting that message too. must be technical difficulties.

      • sabrina

        same here! darn!

      • Claire

i’m pretty sure everyone with a smart phone got through on this one…

        • Alea

Someone I know with a smartphone coudln’t get theirs through either. So I wonder if this system just crashed?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep, me too! Even 12 minutes later!!

      • Claire

i started over, instead of refreshing and got through a minute ago. Who knows how long it was available. Boo!

  23. Tammy

    same here

  24. Jamie

yea it just started saying that this last hour

  25. Sara

    ah same here 🙁

  26. Andrea Thompson

Me too…hope it’s fixed by the next hour’s giveaway!

  27. Amy

I snapped it at 5:01 with my smartphone no problems.

  28. Tiffany

    It’s working now. 🙂

  29. Zita

It doesn’t send me txt msgs?!
And I get the “This giveaway hasn’t started yet” msg….??

  30. kristien33

I just kept trying until I got an entry form. I hope I made it!

  31. lilly

I really hope this goes smoothly today 🙂

  32. pharmacy technician

Great information! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks!

  33. Brian

If you go to the entry form and click on “Official Rules,” it says a few lines down, “You have not won yet.” Does anyone have a message there that says something different??

    • tgebbeken

It said that to me too.

    • Katie

I get that too! I hope I won! Lol! But I don’t think the official rules change for everyone, it looks like it’s just in text, not flash or anything. I think that means not to assume you’ve won by just being a reader or something?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If you look at a lot of sweepstakes and contests they often put “You have not won yet” on things so people understand that entry does not mean you have won something.

  34. lilly

hmm… I think it says that for everyone. Lets hope at least right 🙂

  35. Krystal

Although people are able to enter without having a subscription I think it is important to note that the calendar in the magazine ALWAYS says “The first (however many) Allure readers to sign up will get one free.”

It seems pretty dishonest to enter this contest if you don’t actually own this issue.

    • Katie

I agree, same thing with other magazines. I get upset because I actually pay for a subscription, and since the contest is for SUBSCRIBERS, others don’t have as much right to enter as the readers.

      • Amanda

I disagree since we could be online allure readers and not have a physical subscription.

      • Cherilyn

Federal law states that giveaways (pretty much all of them, as a matter of fact) have to carry the disclaimer, “no purchase necessary.” As a subscription is a de facto purchase, then no subscription can be necessary to enter or win. The contest guidelines say for Allure “readers” not “subscribers.”

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If it is only for subscribers why do you think they offer you a subscription when you enter the contest? Also, buying the issue of the rack does not make you a subscriber. Does that mean if you own the issue but don’t actually subscribe then you shouldn’t be allowed to enter? Just a thought.

  36. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

does anyone know when we will receive the freebies?

  37. romy desai

was an essie nailpolish and a nyx eye shadow part of it? igot that stuff
