Does anyone know if this coupon can be used on Tag Jr books or just the regular tag series? Planning on buying my daughter a Tag Jr for Christmas 🙂

    • Nicole

I just used the coupons on a Tag Jr Book. The cashier did ask someone else if I could use both coupons though. The register must have beeped at her or something, she had to manually type it in. Final cost after both coupons, $2.99.

Just fyi, after doing a lot of research, talking to teachers and other parents, don’t get the Tag Jr. because they will outgrow it and the regular Tag pen can be used with the tag jr. books, so instead of buying 2 different systems, save yourself the money and just get the regular Leapfrog tag and buy the junior books for now because they are compatible. That is what I got my son for Christmas and he is 3.

Can you use both coupons in one order? I haven’t tried this but when I used coupons in the past at Toys R Us they said I could only use ONE coupon per order!

  3. Tricia

I went to my local Toys R Us today and I was able to use the coupons on the Tag Jr books. I purchased 2 books (10.99 each) and only paid (2.99 each plus tax)!

  4. Christy

Can you use the regular Tag pen on the Tag Junior books? I’ve been wondering that.

    • Erin

Nope. Gotta love how manufacturers try to create so many different incarnations of essentially the same toy, none of which are compatible.

    • Allison

Everything I read online says yes you can use the regular pen on the tag junior BUT you cant use the tag junior on the regular books. in fact one of the saving website even posted how much a better deal it was to buy the tag pen because they can hold more books.

    • sonia

Yes you can use the tag pen with the tag jr books, but not the tag jr pen with the tag books.

Just loaded Tag Jr the other day and don’t see how you can use it with the bigger books. It seems to be smart (website) that it will only let you load from your Tag or Tag Jr section and not cross over.

    • sonia

      imm93,
you can use the tag reader with tag jr books, but not the other way around. When download there at the bottom of the page there is an icon showing of the other reader (if you are downloading tag books, the icon would be the tag jr reader), just click on it and you would find the download for the other books. Hope this would help.

Great deal! My younger son has a tag jr. and my older one is getting a tag for Christmas (from an earlier deal posted on this site, I scored it for $20!). I got several tag books with it, but now I’m thinking of printing more coupons out and getting some tag jr. books since some of you were able to do that! My cashier at first was only going to let me use the coupons combined for 1 book b/c he noticed the “one coupon per purchase”. I explained to him that I thought that meant per item, not per transaction, so he said he’d try to scan the coupons to see what would happen, and it accepted them! I am thrilled to be getting such a great headstart on Christmas! THANKS COLIN!

Also, if you are like me and already printed your copies of the coupon from coupons.com, you can print coupons at https://www.leapfrog.com/tag/ and click on the little red corner on the upper righthand side that mentions tag coupons!!

THANK YOU!. i was able to score the tag system at TRU when they had their additional 25% off clearance so it was less than $15 and i have been looking for some books.

  9. lindsey

I noticed todat at Walmart they had several tag books and tag jr books clearanced to 9$. They also had the tag jr marked to 21$. Does anyone know of coupons for that?

    • Danielle H.

Thanks for the tip on the Walmart Tag books. I got two for my daughter for $5.00 ea!!!

  10. Courtney

Another place to find cheap TAG books is your local thrift store. I snagged one for 99 cents on my way out of the store — wish I’d had time to search the shelves for more!

  11. ginger

I just bought two today. They let me run them in two different transactions b/c you are supposed to only use one coupon per transaction. But, I will say that the TAX was figured on the total BEFORE coupons. So, my total was over $7 for each book. Still 1/2 off though.

  12. Cindy

Does anyone know if Target will accept a TRU coupon? I know they’ll price match. I’d love to go to Target to score this deal since my TRU is quite far away.

  13. Becky

Can I use 1 TRU coupon for 2 books? (Like Wags?)

    • Julie S.

I’m wondering about that too. Does anyone know if the one TRU coupon takes off the $4 off ALL of the Tag books, so that you could use multiples of the manufacturer’s coupon to score the great deal on many of them?

  14. karen

so what is the verdict…can these coupons be used for the Tag Jr books?

  15. Elizabeth Gonzalez

what zip can i use, mine is not working, dallas, texas

  16. Misty

Target had Tag Bakugan books clearanced at $3.48, I previously printed a 3.00 off coupon. Nice book for 48 cents.

  17. Brandy

Yes, I used jsut one copy of the Toys R Us coupon – it says $4 off ALL tag books, so it took the discount off of all 6 books I purchased.
