This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Mission Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

Remember the post from last week called “How do You Pack a Hip Lunch?” Many of you that left one of the 300+ comments suggested using tortillas as an alternative to the standard PB& J sandwich. Like you, I love the fact that tortillas take the predictability out of an everyday sandwich for kids AND enable you to create sandwiches of any shape or size with cookie cutters. Plus, they are budget-friendly, contain 0 grams Trans fat per serving and are cholesterol free, and are perfect for every meal: breakfast, lunch or dinner! Check out some of the ways that Hip2Save readers suggested to use tortillas…

* Buy roast chicken from Costco and make sandwiches on a whole wheat flour tortilla.

* Tortillas with veggie cream cheese spread, turkey, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and shredded carrots. Wrap them in saran wrap to keep it held together…they actually get better in the fridge with time, so make up a lot and keep them refrigerated for 2-3 days.

* Make a breakfast burrito: Scramble 2 egg whites & slice or two of turkey bacon with some shredded cheese that gets rolled in a wheat tortilla. Wrap it in alum. foil, then stick it in a warmed thermos.

* My daughter’s fave lunch is a tortilla with a small amount of 1000 island covered with grated cheese, spinach, and lunchmeat turkey.

* Make a pizzadillas…Use any kind of tortilla/wrap, turkey pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, small chopped veggies (i.e. green pepper and mushroom) and toast up like a normal quesadilla. Then send tomato sauce for dipping!

After reading all of the great lunch ideas, I had to share one of my all-time favorite recipes: Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Tortillas Chips which I discovered on AllRecipes.com. (I shared this same recipe on Hip2Save back in May when I highlighted some of my favorite salsa recipes; if you had a chance to try it out, let us know what you thought!) With all the fresh fruit available, this is the perfect time to make this delicious and healthy dish!

Ingredients
* 2 kiwis, peeled and diced
* 2 Golden Delicious apples – peeled, cored and diced
* 8 ounces raspberries
* 1 pound strawberries
* 2 tablespoons white sugar
* 1 tablespoon brown sugar
* 3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor
* 10 (10 inch) Mission flour tortillas (Be sure to use the $0.75/1 coupon from the 8/1 SS)
* butter flavored cooking spray
* 2 cups cinnamon sugar

Directions
* In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, Golden Delicious apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes.

* Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

* Coat one side of each flour tortilla with butter flavored cooking spray. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle wedges with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Spray again with cooking spray.

* Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit mixture.

Check out another site you meanies! Love the site, don’t give a rat’s behind about endorsements or ads. You can’t always have your FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE cake and it TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! You gotta share….

  2. Melissa

Collin- I found your site just over a year ago. I had just had my 4th child and the economy had and has hit my husband’s job hard. Our income has been reduced by half. I soooo appreciate what you have done for us and all of the hard work that you do. I’m pregnant with our 5th ‘surprise’ child and have 8 weeks left. We have actually lived better in the last year than we ever have and that’s with thanks to you. My kids had an awesome Christmas and birthdays and will have another great one! This is all thanks to you in your job. You truly have a gift and am thankful that you are willing to share it with others. Your blog has NOT changed in the last year that I have followed it. You should get some type of reimbursement for what you do. Who wouldn’t want to have a job like that and actually enjoy it? I feel that you almost felt guilty for not spending more time on the blog and less time with your family. DON’T!!! God is first, family is next and then everything else. Your little one’s will only be small once and you need to take time to enjoy them. Your main priority in this life is God, your husband and children. Don’t let negative, jealous and bitter people ever get you down. They can have their opinions, but you know the truth. Everyone that is a decent person that reads your blog wishes nothing but the best for you. As for the negative people, they can go somewhere else for the deals or actually do it themselves. They won’t because they’re too lazy and would rather have someone do the work for them and complain. Keep being the person God wants you to be and keep doing the great job that you have always done. After all, we’re only human:).

    • Karin

      Ditto ~ I agree 110% 🙂 Well said Melissa 🙂

    • Amy

I agree 1000% with this person! Couldn’t have said it better!

    • Sharon Rogers

I 100% agree.. I love your site! I am a stay at home mom of 3 and I could not do what you do! I love your stuff! THANK YOU! Do your thing! dont feel like you have to justify yourself… what meanies!

    • Natasha Page

Very Well Said! We LOVE you Collin, and are very thankful that you do this out of kindness and helpfulness to us and our families. You are my “GO TO” site and I refer friends and family here all the time. THANK YOU FOR CARING!

‘Thanks for all you do! The majority of us appreciate you immensely… & the rest, well, they don’t matter.:)” ABSOLUTELY!

    • Tami

      Nicely said!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aman! Keep up the good work!

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Well I don’t know about most of you, but I don’t always come here to see what Collin has to say. Sorry Collin, but it’s your MOM that I love. That last video of her telling people how to enter a contest has to be the best thing I’ve ever seen on here! She was a HOOT! Especially all the out-takes. (OK, I was kidding about not seeing what you had to say….I can’t go an hour w/out checking your posts. Literally. I am addicted to your site and what you post. Love what you do….but love your momma!!!)

    • Laury

That is Colin’s Grandma. She is so cute!

  4. Wendy

Collin – please ignore the negative comments. You have an awesome blog that requires a tremendous amount of work. Of course you should be compensated. Duh! We (well most of us) appreciate all the hard work putting the deals together for us and saving us the time! Keep up the good work and God Bless You & Your Family!!

  5. Angela

REALLY!? I come to this site ALL the time and have saved a ton of money in the last year! So with that said I don’t care if Colin does a paid post or not! I mean free tortillas taste great no matter what we put on them! All the haters find a new site! Colin just keep doing those paid posts all you want! And i am pretty sure all us moms are glad Colin spends more time with her kiddos than US!

  6. Renee

Wow, I am embarrassed to say I wasted my time reading some very negative comments. Seriously people, put your energy into something more positive. You’ll be a happier person. Collin, I and my family (and the pocketbook) are very thankful for all you do!

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m not even gonna read these ridiculously negative comments about you and this post/blog. Bottom line: you save me money all the time, and if these NEGATIVE NELLIES have a problem with you and your blog, then stop reading it. DUH!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      well said!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Thank you Tara!

  8. runfromreality

Collin you have an awesome blog..with that being said…DON’T FEED THE TROLLS!! rosebud is a TROLL and her belly is really full right about now! People hate to be ignored so let’s just ignore her or him or it or whatever and she will go away to TROLL on another blog!!!! The funny thing is if we were all looking each other right in the eye right now……she would have NOT SAID A WORD!!

    • Tanya Hall

      I agree!!

  9. Crystal

Thank you for your post on Mission Tortillas, which are the best, by the way! A paid post every now and then is no big deal. You work for free, and like crazy! That’s why we all come to your site instead of scouring for the deals ourselves. It’s tough work!

  10. Olga

Collin, just wanted to say how sorry I am on the negative feedback you received. Yours is one of the four websites I visit about 4 to 5 times a week. I just love your sense of humor and look forward to viewing your website after a hard day at work. I simply love what you do. When I listen to your videos, my heart is filled with joy by your personality. I noticed when I view your video my husband stops what he’s doing and listens also and you bring a smile to both our faces. Please keep up the good work, we are blessed by your website.
I enjoy watching the videos of you going shopping and have applied your techniques at my commissary. WE LOVE YOU! Don’t Quit! You are doing a fantastic job!.Thanks, Olga.

  11. Tanya Hall

Collin, ignore those negative people. You cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time. I love you!

  12. Krystal

I’m sorry you were offended by some inconsiderate people on here. They fail to realize that you’ve got to make money somehow…Getting free groceries doesn’t pay the electric bill. There’s nothing wrong with this post, just because it doesn’t offer a coupon or a free sample doesn’t mean it’s a waste of time. You gave some free recipes! You don’t do these often and there’s no problem in it. Don’t let everyone bother you.

  13. Bev

Hip2save is my daily pick me up. Love it:)

  14. amy_nacnud

Thanks for your site. My husband hates that I’m addicted to it because like tonight I’m checking it out instead of the tv which he wants me to watch. He loves that I save us a ton of money though! Just ignore the bad comments. I suppose they are just jealous that you’ve found such a great way to make some dough.

  15. Kristin M

OMG! I am so sorry you had inconsiderate people leave negative comments!!! What the heck???!!!! Who cares if you get paid to post something??? Why shouldn’t you??? You save thousands of us money every single day!!! I have to tell you I log on to my computer every morning, check my email, Facebook & then your site!!! That is my ritual….and I am sad to say I do it all day long! I get so mad when I miss a good deal!!! lol!!! Keep up the great work & PLEASE don’t let a couple of ignorant people hurt your feelings…all of your “real” followers love you!!! 🙂

  16. April Wall

Collin, you are gracious (always answer my emails) and do check things out before posting them…it is not your fault if the item reaches it max after posting – each company places its own limits on how many coupons are available. Great sales and coupon matches are becomming harder to find, stores are changing their policies, etc.; this is in no way your fault. You have a great mix of ways to save, great tips, great giveaways, and are a trusted friend who truely cares about all of us and provides such great educational entertainment with your videos. If someone does not want to read a paid post then ignore it and don’t read it – you identified it and we are adults that make our own decisions. You have made so many improvements to the website – all this costs $$$$; of course you need to make money but, HELLO Rosebud, so do we when we save. I don’t typically spend alot of time reading the blog but had to tonight after learning someone was so unappreciative and mean-spirited. I think Rosebut is trying to attract people to her blog -what an unattractive thought. WE LOVE YOU COLLIN – THANKS!!

  17. Anna in NC

Collin – Thanks for leaving the negative comments. I scrolled past the tortilla post as we don’t really use them so I am just now reading the comments… and OMG!! At first I couldn’t believe what I was reading… then I started laughing. It brought me back to a Psychology class in college where we learned that women’s cycles will eventually synchronize so that we all have our period at the same time. Well… most of us here are women. …”just sayin”

    Collin – YOUR SITE ROCKS!!!

    • Kendra Wright

      Haha! So true!

  18. Stephen

Collin, I just had a really GREAT idea for your next video…..you should randomly place lemons wrapped in tortillas all over the grocery store you take us through!!!

    • Kathie M

      What a hoot!

  19. Nancy

OMG! She didnt have to tell you it was sponsored. Dang, haters! I love you Collin and Mission Tortillas.

I think you should get paid at least 100K a year for all you do. I bet a million dollars Collin works harder and LONGER hours than all you negative people.

  20. Jennifer

Collin — I hope you read the last few comments on this post. Perhaps I’ll post it elsewhere as well as it’s late and I’m sure you are in bed….. First of all, big hug….I’ve had a few bad days lately too and it’ll all seem better after some sleep.

Second, others can say whatever they like but I come to this site BECAUSE of the great variety of things you post. I’m fortunate enough that I don’t really have to have the great deal but I have found sooooo many great sites in general because of you. So many great websites, ideas and posts. Remember the “You In Bloom” series? I loved that! The Walgreen’s Follow Me Mondays? Had me laughing out loud (please do CVS next!). I rarely post because I get to things late (I work a lot) but you’ve been kind enough to respond to a few emails I’ve sent. I actually loved the Mission post — it reminded me about using tortillas for lunch (I get stuck in ruts…) AND I found a great recipie for making my own tortillas. See? That’s what I love about this site — variety! Take what you want and leave the rest!

I love this site and I appreciate it, as do so many others. Thank you for all of the work and thank you for sharing with us. Please don’t change a thing.

    Love, Jen

  21. Krista

Love Mission Tortillas! And I have to agree that wraps are so much fun to make for lunch. In fact, I made my husband 2 of them last night to take for lunch today with leftover grilled steak, veggies, and some of the new flavors of Laughing Cow Light cheese wedges. Not sure what all the fuss is about over the “sponsored post” or whatever…by reading your blog for the past year, I’ve managed to cut our grocery & personal care budget in half and have a nice stockpile of all kinds of things plus a little bit of money that I have been able to stash away for emergencies. THANK YOU for all you do….it is truly appreciated. Rock on, sister-friend.

  22. Laura

    Collin,

You totally rock and your coupon site is my favorite site to visit (at least a couple of times a day)! Keep up the great job! Forget the rest!

  23. Linda

Hip2Save is what got me started! I owe so much to you, Collin! I truly appreciate all that you do. Thank you so much.

  24. kimi

Love your blog. I tell everyone I know that they have got to check out all of the crazy good savings that you post! :0) Thank you so very much for all of the time and energy you put into your site…it is always fun and informative.

  25. bentleymommy

Ok seriously?!? Comeon people…. I think we should ignore these people, because obviously they have nothing better to do and obviously they just want to stir up a ruckus….

Anyways I think this post is AWESOME! I just bought like 6 packages of tortillas at safeway because they were like less than a $1 after coupons and this gives me something to do with them!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I froze them, it was like 3 weeks back)

And HELLO! she uses readers ideas in this post! so in that case all of us are sponsored as well!!! just sayin…..

AND- quite honestly I have seen other blogs- not ness savings blogs- but other blogs with sponsored posts and it was VERY obvious that they were sponsored. You could not even tell on this post! Rose Nectar or whatever your name is you are JUST JEALOUS!

  26. Amy

I just have to say to Collin a big THANK YOU for all you do! Your blog has helped my family so very much and it’s kept our mailboxes and cupboards full! With that said who cares that there are people out there who are so hating their own life that they feel the need to bring someone else down to their level. I have no time for people like that! I’m not even going to read the hate filled words that made you upset because they don’t deserve my time! They don’t deserve YOUR time either – time that is better spent with those you love and that appreciate you! You do a wonderful job and I understand why you would be upset…but consider the source.
By the way….I LOVE Mission Tortillas (only kind I buy) and I’m honored that you used one of my posts as an example….you gave me a BIG smile tonight when I saw that so THANK YOU!
Don’t let them bring you down, you still have devoted blog followers who love the blog and will keep coming back day after day. I know I have for more than a year! I honestly think it was a blessing to find your blog as it sure has blessed me and my family!! Hope tomorrow is a better day for you! HUGS!

    • Amy

Oh and I’m so going to have to try your recipe…it looks and sounds wonderful!

  27. AC

I always make sure I click on the referral link that Collin refers to for those awesome deals as well as put her blog in “the other” box when those free sample sites ask where I heard the deal from. I want to make sure that she gets all the credits. Thanks for your hard work. I save tons of moneys and get so many cheap/free things ♥♥♥

  28. Cassie

Collin! I LOVE this site and all your adivce and dedication. This is the first and only site that I go to for coupons and deals. Before hip2save I had no idea how much money I could save and the things that I could get for free! Times are hard and I dont have a lot of money, if it wasnt for your hard work, determination, and this site I probably wouldnt have any food in the fridge! Thank you and bless you for what you do!

  29. Emily

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with making money with your blog, but you need to DISCLOSE how you make your money to your readers. Bloggers like this one are making some serious money, and not just through “sponsored” posts. This blog gets some type of compensation out of the majority of its posts through affiliate relationships and other arrangements. You can’t tell me this doesn’t influence the site’s content! And those giveaways? Ever wonder what type of income that brings in? And the constant crowing about Swagbucks by this blog and others? The average Swagbucks user isn’t getting much in the way of benefits out of the site, but this blog has made hundreds – probably thousands of dollars – through talking up Swagbucks and getting credit for people who sign up.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Emily,
You need to spend the amount of time that Collin does on her website and only then can you suggest what she needs to do. Apparently, you have too much time on your hands. Please don’t talk negatively to Collin, who has to make some money to help support her family, and is gracious in all her posts. Give it a rest!

    • April

Funny how you want someone else to post the money that they make but would you want your financial situations out there in cyberspace for everyone to see? I think not. Let her make a living the way she choose and live her life. Who are you to judge? What Collin does is a very GENEROUS act for all of us that dont have the time to look for the deals all the time due to life and work so who cares if she makes money. I think she DESERVES the money! If you dont like it dont come here.

    • Heather

You don’t have to visit the blog. Seriously.

  30. Nancy

    ROSEBUD= IHEARTCOUPONS.COM

one site I wont be visiting!

    • Sharon Rogers

no way.. this is pure drama.. lol

  31. Theresa McCarley

Wow, just got on here for the first time today, and I think I missed something! I was not offended by the mission tortilla post at all. I found it interesting, and informative. I am glad that Colin gotcompensated for her time in posting. I am new to this site, so am unsure what the “old” blog looked like, but I know that the “NEW” Blog has saved me a ton of money. I think that it is great Colin can supplement her income, and get paid for the many many hours she puts into the blog ( I hope all of the blogs I visit are making money). They are saving me a lot of time and leg work for deals that I would never have found on my own.

  32. MaryAnn

Your site is awesome!! As I pondered what else to say this morning…I was drawn to Proverbs 31. You are truly a Proverbs 31 woman….” She is like the merchant ships, bringing in food from afar. She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her task. She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night. ….She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, sh has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

Thanks for all you do to set such an example for us and to help us be this Woman too!

  33. lwilso02

Wow, it blows my mind how rude & catty grown women can be… so sad. If you don’t like this site, then why look at it? If I had that many issues with it, I sure wouldn’t waste a second out of my day looking at it. Collin makes money… what’s wrong with that? I’m sure some have a “problem” b/c very few people would ever be as successful at it as Collin has been & some spiteful people hate to see others succeed… simple as that, especially if they’re not very successful themselves. To the ones w/ so many negative things to say- i’d like to see you make a blog that had this many readers, touched & helped as many people as this one, and had as many people spring to your defense when rude remarks are left..
We are responsible for our own happiness, and it makes me so sad to see so many people who are too busy hating on others to really enjoy life. We all have faults & it seems as though, usually, the ones who are always pointing out what others do wrong, have WAY more in their own closet that needs fixing. They just occupy their time with others shortcomings, so they don’t have to work on their own.
Collin- Ignore the rude comments. Some women have no class. And, when it boils down to it, whether good or bad, they’re still talking about you…. so you must be “a big deal”. 🙂 Thanks for all you do! The majority of us appreciate you immensely… & the rest, well, they don’t matter.:)

  34. Margaret

As my mother always said “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.” Thank you Collin for all your information.

  35. The Coupon Goddess

Collin- I too am a blogger and appreciate sponsored posts. Heck, I just put one up today. As a blogger I spend upwards of 40 hours a week working on my blog and to me it’s a full time job with little salary. Sponsored posts that fit into your genre are totally understandable and you have no need to apologize. Keep on keepin’ on and those that don’t like it can read something else. God knows there’s enough other material online to read!

    • Anon

Of course you don’t make the salary that Collin does, just compare the sites.

  36. Rita

    Collin,
Thanks for all the hard work that you put into this site. You have helped my family save so much money! I’m glad that you get paid for whatever you it is you get paid for…it wouldn’t make since to put this much time into a site & not get something for it (only someone very weathy could afford to do that)! So keep up the good work because you are good at your JOB! : )

  37. The Big Red Pot

While Collin may not be doing this for free, as so many have stated, the service is still offered to each of you for free…if it isn’t costing you any money then I don’t understand what the complaint is? If you have a problem participating in something you feel is “wrong” then just do not frequent the blog – a personal decision is valid and encouraged, negative comments are unnecessary.

  38. Tracey

Ok isn’t this a post about recipes or did I miss something?? I agree with Julian Myers from an earlier post….HATERS!!! Good work Collin!!!!

  39. Lori Groen

I saw this post early yesterday, read it, wrote down the recipe and moved on thinking nothing about it. I read Collins comments this morning about how hurtful some of the comments have been and I thought to myself, about what? There were hardly any comments when I read the post and I could figure out what kind of hurtful comments could have possibly be said about this post…then I came here to read them!

What a shock to find some of the distasteful, negative comments. I have been coming to this blog for a little over a year (from the previous site before it crashed). I LOVE IT! I mainly go to 2 websites for couponing. This is the first one I check every morning. It is easy to navigate, click on links that take you directly to print sites and gives me scenario information so all I have to do is copy and paste to a blank document and take it to my favorite stores (Target, CVS, WAGs, etc.) I can easily navigate to print coupons that are important to me and my family. How can that possibly be a bad thing?

When people can hide behind the anonymity of a computer, they say rude, crude and mean things that they would never say to someone’s face. Putting the “money making” controversy aside, who taught you that speaking like that is ever acceptable? Speak in kindness; build one another up rather than tear them down. There are enough things in the world that can make us doubt ourselves…a helpful, meaningful blog should not be like that.

I am not sure why making money has become such a controversy. Isn’t that why we are all here…to make money for our families by saving as much as we can on things like toiletries, food items, etc.? I don’t post much but the number of negative comments prompted me to add my support for Collin and this blog. I’d hate for her to feel like the aggravation isn’t worth it and pull down the site and pack it in; those of us who count on her to lead us to the great deals would be the ones to suffer.

The next time you hve somethng mean or hurtful you want to post, think if this would be something you’d like someone to say to your sister, grandmother or close friend. If you have “constructive” things to say, I am sure Collin wouldn’t mind that, but post it in the spirit of kindness.

By the way, I love the tortilla, peanut butter and banana idea! Keep up the great work, Collin; I love you and ths blog.

    • Stacy

      Excellent reply. Thanks.

  40. Paulette Dick

Collin, I love your Blog, you are the reason that my sister in law and I started our own blog. If people do not like what you are posting, they should not come to your site.

  41. Karen

I love this site, Collin has saved me so so much money. I thank her big time. x

  42. Jennifer F

I hope you are rolling it in! You deserve it. What do I care if she makes money off this site, by all means she should!! Yes, she does post where she finds her deals (to the person above saying she doesn’t) and we could find them ourselves, but we don’t have to because she does it for us. What a bunch of whiney asses! I cannot believe people are so rude. If you don’t like it why are you here?? Go find somewhere else to gripe, you must be miserable. Collin 99.9% of us stand behind you and appreciate all that you do.

  43. lovesadeal

The advertisements on the right hand side of Collin’s site do not bother me and I’m a little unsure as to why they are bothering some people who have left rude comments. If you don’t want to know what companies are advertising on Hip2Save…..don’t look. If you could care less about a post for a deal/product….skip it. I don’t think some people realize the effort that Collin puts into this blog. I personally hope that everytime I click on a link that is posted here, that it benefits Collin in some way!!!

    • Anon

      It does!!

      • ehayes

Anon Get the broom out of ur A**.

  44. Trudy

Wow! I’m totally shocked by the negative commments and really appreciate all of you that are speaking out against them.

Collin, I love your site and visit it twice a day. Thank you so much for all the great deals, links, and information you post. I love that you can support your family and do something that you love. -Many people benefit from the information you post. Rock on girl and keep that great info coming!!!! Thank you!!!!

  45. Amy

Wow Collin you must be doing something really right to have someone be SO negative and hateful towards you. I say this because it’s when you are doing something great with your life (great kids, great husband, loving life, making money – which is awesome for you by the way and really is none of our business) it may make others look at their own sad lives and think of themselves as unworthy so they try to take you down to their own miserable state of mind. Don’t let them get the best of you because you still have the great kids, the great husband, and are loving life and living as you should!
Keep up the good work! Sure looks like you have a lot of great supporters out there so forget about the rest as they are acting out of pure jealousy! Got to hate that green eyed monster called envy…must be miserable, unstable people to have such a negative state of being.

  46. Jennifer S

Collin I love your site don’t change anything. If those people don’t like your site it won’t kill you to lose them as readers you have plenty of readers who do love you. Plus the ones who do love what you do tell more and more about your site. So forget the negative comments. Some people are just rude!

Wow!! Im amazed at this…Who freakin cares if she gets paid…she SHOULD! This is her job. When we get up and go to our 9 to 5 we expect to get paid, this is her 9 to 5 plus some. You dont have to pay for her service and you benefit from it, so be thankful.
Collin- you are fabulous. I love your site and I am grateful for the time and effort you put into it. Your site helped me start couponing. I check your page everyday! Thank you for your hard work!

Never did Collin ever say this was a nonprofit website. But none of us would visit as often as we do because nonprofits generally don’t get enough time dedicated to them to make them standout over similar sites as H2S does. I have no doubt those dishing out the criticism use Google Search, Yahoo Mail, or Mapquest Maps and don’t judge the companies for gathering their personal information, tracking their searches, or flashing advertisements in their faces in order to make a few cents. I applaud Collin for being as creative, entertaining, and informative as she is and making H2S rise above other blogs and help make some extra money for her family in the process. We all take surveys, fill out rebates, and request coupons for free products as a way of keeping money in the bank to support our families; I’m envious that Collin has successfully figured out how to take that to the next level, but I’m happy to support her by using referral links and sharing deals I find.

As far as the Judgey McJudgersons and “holier than thou” posts from people who can’t fathom feeding their families “hydrogenated oils” or “non organic anything,” I appreciate your concern for my family’s health, but of greater concern to me is providing my family with 3 meals a day. And the idea for a cheap, quick, and creative twist on a sandwich is greatly appreciated.

Also, as far as the site “changing,” the only change I’ve noted is the incorporation of giveaways, but I still enter with the hope of being successful and certainly don’t see any of the giveaway winners complaining. But I expect the site to grow and change as Collin and her family grow. I’m sure she won’t follow the cheap diapers deals as closely once all the kids are potty trained, but I wouldn’t blame her.

Wait til you get the medical bills.

The bottom line is that this blog is not a public service. This is a money-making venture and posts/giveaways/testimonials are made so that the blogger earns income.

If you don’t like it…Don’t read it.
And if you don’t like it and feel the need to say something… why hide behind Anonymous???

      • Anon

SO WHAT????? We obviously ALL know that? I hope Collin becomes a millionaire off this site – and duhrrrrr of course I have always known that she makes money off it are YOU stupid enough to think that WE all DID not know that? Or care???? Strangeeee people.

    • carrie widmeyer

Well then anonymous needs to quite reading this blog and stop taking all of your hard work and using it to his/her advantage. There are plenty of us who really appreciate all of your help. I have learned so much from you. Collin you take every single paid endorsement you can because you deserve it. Stupid people like anonymous can mind their own business and continue paying full price. We love you.

    • lisa

so what if she gets paid. we all benefit from what se does. Man people are rude and insensitive. get a life and if you cant put your name to a comment you shouldnt leave one.

      • ehayes

Wow, Anon, Anonymous, rosebud, shut up and stop leaving messages. Is this the only way you can get attention?

    • angie

And? is that all you have to say? Really? Wow i dont think i would show my name either if that was really all i could find negative about all this site does for us. I dont see you making any posts on how to save money, where to shop, how to find it, what coupons to put with what. But that is prob because you are to busy being negative. I laugh at you, i mean really i am laughing at you. Jealousy is as cruel as the grave… Thats what the Bible says.. Collin is a true and honest person, if she makes money hey im super glad she does. Heck i would pay for a membership to this site if she requested it.. soo go on back to where you came from,, im sure its your bedtime by now.. Ty Collin, do not let anyone bring you down, you do this from your heart.. IT shows, that is all that matters.. we luv ya….

    • mindy

why do you even care?????? don’t read it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m glad Colin can make money doing what she loves. However, we all benefit from her hard work. Thanks Colin ignore the haters!

    • Anon is just Jealous

Basically ANON you are just jealous, jealous that she has a happy life, saves money and makes a little income to save your stinky butt money. Good for her, hell I wish I had thought of it sooner. You must either not have a job or perhaps you have a job where you hate it and you scam people all day. I hope Collin becomes the highest paid blogger out there. I only wish every penny she saved me I could give back. Thanks to her I support my family and my community even more because now I can. Take your negative nancy self and go throw your money in the fire. Maybe you should come with me to a village in Africa for a month and then perhaps you will learn to be supportive of others and grateful for the life you have. If Collin makes a dollar off of liking freakin tortillas then good for her!

Obviously you are not aware of how the blog’s work, everyone makes money when you print certain coupons from their sites, and obviously you do not know the amount of work that goes into these sites for pennies. When I print coupons, I print a little from everyones site because they are all deserving, I have my own blog and I am very grateful for the other blogs, it is a lot of work to stay on top of all the deals and get basically nothing in return but to bring the deals to the shoppers, I think you owe an apology to her site.
Thanks HIP2SAVE for all your hard work!

  50. Jennifer

i have to say-i’m appalled!!! i saw your apology post and wondered what all the fuss was about, so i came back to read what people were so upset about-and it is RIDICULOUS!!! first off-who are these people that are so quick to judge?? and secondly-what do they care about how you make your money?? unbelievable!! last time i checked, this was still America and you are free to make money blogging. and shouldn’t you be paid for your time?? my goodness-i can’t imagine how much time you put into this blog so that i don’t have to spend MY time searching and searching and searching for deals! thanks for what you do colin-this IS a job-and one that you excel at!! 🙂

    • LeslieK

I completely agree! I did the same thing.. I did not think anything of the original post until I read the apology letter… I came back here to look at this post.. I can not believe that everyone is making all of these rude horrible comments. I can not even imagine how long Collin spends doing this everyday- in addition to taking care of her kids, her husband, the house, running errands, doctors appointments, grocery shopping, haircuts, etc. She should get paid!
