Bummed … It didn’t work in northern California. I just tried it with the same things Collin used but I didn’t get any +up rewards. This was my first rite aid try… Not sold on this store yet… Bummer 🙁

Define Northern CA? I am in the Northern northern part of the state (two hours north of Sacramento) and just did this deal on my lunch break. However, I did not get any of the $1 UPRs, just the $2 ones, so, I paid $25 oop and got back $24 in UPRs. Not bad but weird that the advertised deal didn’t print but the unadvertised one did. . .
Where in N. Cali are you. I was about to try the deal here in Sacramento but if thats where you tried and it didnt work then I am not going to bother trying.
Did you use a club card, I think you need to use the wellness card to get this to work.

I got one bag each of the Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids, Cow Tail Minis, Starburst, Jolly Ranchers, Caramel Cremes, Jolly Rancher Pops, Charms Blow Pops, Dum Dum Pops, Tootsie Roll Pops, Tootsie Roll Midgees, and the Airheads. Which Redding Store did you go to? Cypress or Eureka Way?
I’m in the San francisco bay area. So walnut creek. I didn’t get the $1 or $2 ones. I did use my wellness card though. I’m going to return them and try a differnt store and see if that works. I’ll keep you all posted. Thanks for the words of encouragment and help!!
I went to the Cypress one but it was about 2:30 and I think they had fixed the problem just before that. Couldn’t get to the store sooner. Had to do some stuff around the house, darn priorities! 🙂

The tootsie roll pops seem to only print off a $1 UP rather than a $2 UP. I noticed that when I bought some but still a great deal!
i brought 2 bags of candies (starburst and sour patch) using my up rewards from last week and also used the free cottenelle wipes coupon i got in the mail the other day but only for 2 2 dollar up rewards. didnt get the 1 1 dollar one for buy 2 packs of candies. i called rite aid and they were so nice and they said that the 1 dollar reward will be sent out within a couple of weeks!
Big signs up all over my RA that due to the “glitch” on candy rewards, associates will adjust them at checkout i.e. take them!

They are taking the mystery Up+ for the candy transactions except those that are advertised sales with rewards

Just worked for me in RI. Got 4 bags of dum dums, 2 swedish fish, 2 jolly ranchers, 2 blow pops, and 2 starburst – $30 back. Note they also had 24 packs of batteries on sale for $7 and little hugs 6 packs for .74.
Didn’t have much left at my local store. I bought 4 starburst, 4 tootsie roll pops, and 4 tootsie fruit rolls. I got back (4) $2.00 & (6) $1.00. Is this right? Please someone let me know. Thanks!
That sounds right from my experience. The $2 UPs are for the starburst and 4 of the $1 UPs and for the tootsie roll pops, the other 2 $1 UP are for buying 4 bag sof the starburst. I don’t think the tootsie fruit rolls are included.
you should of gotten more $2 ups I’d say about 8 of them but since they are really unadvertised, you can’t really do anything about it.

I bought 12 bags off of Colin’s list and got 6 $1 UPS and 12 $2 UPS. I used those at another store this morning to buy 6 more bags. Ths time I got 3 $1 UPs and 6 $2 UPS. Used $5/25 coupons both times bought a pack of diapers too and still came out ahead! I was very excited! Thanks!

To pay for this deal, I used $13.05 previous up RR. $6.08 RA GC & 5.87 on a VISA GC; on to get $4 in up RRs. I wanted to return this all, & get back my RRs, but they told me that the up RR are no good once used. so, i’m stuck….
I made my purchase at 12:59 this afternoon, so it looks like the deal probably ended sometime around 12 today. Oh well, you win some, you lose some….just stuck w/some expensive candy : )

Long story: A few weeks ago, when the Noxema razors were on sale for $2, I bought one, along with a bunch of other stuff. I gave the guy a $2/1 Noxema coupon that came out of the back of another Noxema package I had bought the day before. One side was the coupon’s bar code, and the other side was the product’s bar code (wonder what dummy thought that was a good idea?!). The cashier scanned the wrong side, so instead of taking off $2, he rang up another box of razors. I used a bunch of +Up’s to pay, and didn’t realize the error until I checked my receipt. I turned right back around, and showed him. After about 20 minutes, and ringing it up 3 times, he figured out what the problem was (lol thank goodness my 4 y/o was at home that night). Finally, he voided my original sale, re-rang it, and used the same +Up’s to pay for the new, correct transaction. They worked fine. Because I ended up getting a couple of those previously used +Ups back (didn’t need, since the amount was $4 lower), I made sure to confirm they would work the next time I used them (whether it be next day or next week). He said yes, and manager confirmed as well. I think it’s BS that they don’t work anymore. What if your transaction was rang up incorrectly (cashier’s fault), and you used +Ups to pay for it? You are out all that $$ because of some other person’s mistake? What would they do then?

Just tried it here in VA and I guess it is no longer working. I just came home with 12 bags of candy, used the $5 off coupon, 10 UP rewards from last week and paide $15 out of pocket and got $6 in up rewards. BUMMER!!!!

DIDN’t WORK for me either, but I didn’t do that exact transaction that Collin had listed. I bought the right sizes, but a different assortment than she listed. I did get $14 ups but still cost me $11 for candy that I didn’t necessarily need. Can’t return it because I used UPS to pay and can’t get them back. UGH!
I got 8 skittles and 2 starbursts. Should have freakin printed as they did for everyone else. Really upset since I am preg and sick and made a special trip. Haven’t couponed in weeks, but thought this was worth it! Back to the couch for the next few months! At least I have my skittles to keep me company… :-/

I didn’t get the $1.oo up rewards, but did get the $2.00 mystery. I still only paid $20.67 for my whole order because of coupons and ended up with $20.00 worth of up rewards. On my purchase, I also bought 3 boxes of fiber one bars and hungry jack syrup from rebates I received from sales a few weeks before and they ran out. Don’t forget to ask for rebates when they run out of sale items. I’m still happy about my purchase. Thanks hip2save!!!
i called rite aid cause the same thing happened to me. we are really supposed to get the 1 dollar reward so they said they will mail it to me. they were so nice about it too

Nicole I am also in Vermont. I went this morning to do the deal in Milton,vt and worked and then later was in South Burlington,Vt and it worked also. When I went to pick up my son tonight he was near another Rite Aid in Colchester,Vt and it DIDN’T work then. So I guess they fixed the error.

did you buy the loose skittles or did you buy the fun sized bags? that was probably the problem. i did this deal once at my rite aid, went to another rite aid and did it, had my bf go in and do it, and got all the rewards it said i would. i have been buying 10 bags (25.00) use the 5/25 (20.00) use 20.00 up’s to pay, and get 25 up’s back. 🙂
I drove 40 miles this moring to get to a Rite Aid to do this deal and I ended up having to call their Oorp office. The Shift Supervisors we SO VERY rude! They wouldn’t let me do the deal because it came up to be ‘free’. Refused to contact a ‘real’ Manager and/or Corporate. They told me they could find the number. After they returned the money to me I left and called the store and asked the lady who picked up the phone what the number was to Coporate. 1-800-RITEAID ( difficult to remember) So I called, come to find out ALL the stores had meetings just a few weeks ago telling them these sales will and do occure and that they are valid. They assured me that I could do this and was correct and they would make it up to me in a few days, although the sale will be over. Sucks to be the supervisors there today now Corp is contacting you Distric Manager. HAHAHAHA! ( A tip to the senior or near senior age: don’t be so narrow minded)
I went to Rite Aid with my three kids today. My 9 yr old is always rolling his eyes at my couponing enthusiasm, but today he was pretty excited about it. The whole time we were checking out he kept asking when are you going to get your coupons out? I told him I didn’t need coupons for this deal, which he didn’t understand until we got to the car and I showed him the +UP rewards:) As the +UP rewards were printing (and printing) the cashier said “I guess you know what your doing” To which I replied there are some really good blogs out there. Yes, it’s dead. I did this deal at 12:59 PST, in Beaverton, OR; and only got $4 in ups. I bought another 12 bags w/out using any up RRs to pay for it; then only got $6 up rewards back. If you want to try this deal… I would suggest paying w/credit card & not using any ups rewards, coupons or gift cards to pay for it. That way if it does not work, just return it w/no problems.

Finally got to a Rite Aid (Cambridge, NY) tonight at 6 p.m., and definitely got right sizes/UPCs — but only got the $1 UPS. Glad I paid in cash — hips don’t need candy & will take (most) back.

It didn’t work for me in Ga. I bought 4 bags of the candy with the sale/reward tags and was going to use some of the +up rewards and mystery rewards to pay for my second order of candy. Long story short I didn’t get any rewards or any kind on any of the candy. The cashier told me I didn’t get what was pictured in the paper. I didn’t have time to figure out why at the time. I went back a few hours later to return most of the candy. The cashier was very nice and after my return she helped me find the candy that the rewards were for. Well – lucky I only bought 2 bags of Blow Pops because I only got the $1+ up reward. I guess the mystery reward didn’t work at that store. I need the Blow Pops for a craft. Can I use the up reward to buy more Blow Pops?

Half dead in Michigan – I bought 12 bags from your list above (exactly the same as you got, only I did sweedish fish instead of the jolly ranchers) and received 6- $1 up rewards plus only 2 – $2 up rewards. So returned the entire thing…. NOT FUN!!!
I just tried it at 4:30 p.m. EST in Northern MI. Sorta worked??? I went to buy 12 bags. I accidentally only put 10 bags on the counter as my 2 yo was blocking the last 2 bags. Only 5 $1 UPs printed. I inquired about the $2 UPs, then noticed my other 2 bags ~ so she said lets try them. Sure enough for the 2 bags I received the 2 $2 UPs & the 1 $1 UPs. She took my name and # and said she will contact the district manager. (She was the store manager 🙂 ) She said if I was supposed to get the $2 UPs, she would just give me the same amount in a RA gift card. All spends the same for me. Love managers who are kind to couponers!

Didn’t work for me in TN. I ended up really confusing the cashiers because they had never heard of such a thing. I returned the entire order and she had to manually return all 12 items. I was very apologetic and thankful, but I feel terrible for taking up so much of their time.
The deal must be dead in Northern MI. Used all my hard earned ups . I paid 3 something oop and bought 6 bags of candy. I’m so glad I didn’t buy more. Only rec’d three dollars in ups. I must have gotten to a new level of wellness card because I rec’d a 10% off cpn. That was the only good thing to come out of this. I should’ve checked this blog before trying this afternoon. I am so bummed. My stores shelves were getting empty and usually noone does any of these deals at my rural ra. I guess not all of the deals can be had by all. I did great on the Vicks vaporizer deal so I’ll have to be content for a while.
I did this deal at lunch time and got back $25 in UP rewards, then used the rewards to do another deal – it only printed $10 in UP rewards… I was buying when they were correcting the clitch… I also was able to use the $1 off coupons when you buy Fun size skittles, starburst, or lifesavers. So, that helps bring the OOP down for those who missed it before. The 2nd deal with coupons was $7 OOP and $8 UP rewards back – still FREE! – I’m happy!
That coupon is specifically for the FUN SIZE bags, not the lay down bags. Its been mentioned several times throughout this post (and the other one) the IP Is NOT A match. If it were, don’t you think Collin would have posted in her scenerio? And one wonders why cashiers/managers want to deny coupons.

I was out today around 1:30 EST and I did the deal in two different transaction and I love my Rite Aid, the manager there always ring me up and we just talk and we get so excited about how my oop I will need and what’s going to get printed at the end of my receipt. She is a doll. Plus she got me 2 of the Rite Aid coupon books! I think that deal died right we I walked out because she got a phone call when my receipt was printing my last transaction. I think it was corporate calling her, I did it in the nick of time, but even if they had told her to take the $2 up rewards she would have let me keep them.

I was trying to return the whole purchase but the store manager said the previous up rewards used in this transaction will not be returned/reversed. He will only return what I paid out of my pocket which is about $6. So at then end I keep those candies. Well, bad luck for me.
For those who want to try this out, I would recommend DO NOT use your previous up rewards on this purchase. If the worst scenario happens, you can return the entire purchase without any loss.
Since they have figured out the error in the extra $2 Choc UP reward, do you think we will still be able to redeem them later on when we use them towards our normal purchases? That would be a total bummer if they somehow were able to inactivate those!!

My husband and I each have a Wellness+ card so I got 24 bags of candy total.I got $26 +Up from one transaction, used all those to pay for the 2nd one and got $26 +Up from that one. So it was a moneymaker. I haven’t scrutinized my receipts yet, but I know I got Tootsie Pops and they weren’t on Collin’s list, so I guess I just got a $1 for those.
I was able to use a $4 coupon for the Swedish Fish/Sour Patch kids and 2 of the Starbust/Skittles fun size coupons from redplum.com even though I didn’t buy the “fun size”.
This was about 2pm CST outside Memphis, TN.
Incorrect coupon usage….regardless if it scans, it wasn’t for the right product….
