I love hearing about all the unique and creative holiday traditions that go on in each family. It’s so much fun to get new ideas! So with that being said, what are your holiday traditions? Please share!

…AND to start this off, one of our families holiday traditions is to each open a present on Christmas eve and the presents are always filled with a new set of pajamas for us to wear Christmas day!

Every Christmas eve a pair of PJ’s “appear” on each one of our beds so we have new, warm PJ’s! It is cute and fun. My kids are still only 5 & 3 but hopefully they will come to love this tradition. One thing I miss from a child is my Christmas stocking!!! Wish I could get that again. 🙂

I think my kids’ favorite tradition is our “daily bags.” Each 4 of my girls has a christmas themed felt bag that I fill for Dec. 1. They get one gift a day from the bag. I have put all kinds of things for them in there, candy, gift cards, pencils, erasers, movies, books, socks, gloves, christmas puzzles, bubbles, stickers….etc. Last year they each got an artificial tree for their rooms on Dec. 1 and each day they got something for their tree ( lights, beads, tree skirt, ornaments, etc.) I have done this for 16 years now and always think they will outgrow it but apparently not! I start the day after christmas setting things aside for the next year.

Another tradition we do is get the girls an ornament on each vacation. Sometimes it is hard to find but they have collected some great ones over the years. They will have enough for their own trees when they move out!

We always had the same traditon one gift on Xmas eve and it ALWAYS had PJ’s. We also always have stockings, they would disappear a week before christmas and then reappear on Christmas (It was a cute act). I am 24 and have my own family now and I still ASK my mom for both these traditions. Each year she tells me no but she still does it. Also we always had one BIG gift under the tree XMAS day from santa. I just dont know what traditions I will have with my family now?

A very special thing we do is make a Birthday Cake for Jesus. This is such a special way to point my children to the real meaning of Christmas. My kids are now 9,11 and 19 and even when I get caught up in the Christmas rush, they always remind me and insist that we take time to make our Special Cake!!!!!
