UPDATE: Since there have been quite a few comments below wondering whether this is a legitimate deal, I decided to contact Paramount Farms (the company who owns Wonderful Pistachios) at 877-450-9493. I spoke with a representative who did assure me that this is a legitimate offer. However, if you do not feel comfortable sending your information to the Pistachio Queen, then by all means please do NOT do this offer.

Wonderful Pistachios just announced this on Facebook:

We made 30,000 fans! Good job team! Send a message to the “Pistachio Queen” (page owner) with your full name and address and we’ll send you a lil’ somethin’ somethin’. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16 @ 3 PM PST is the cut off for submissions. Subject line: 30K Must include your full information. (No write backs today.)

So if you haven’t already, go “like” them on Facebook, then send Pistachio Queen a message by following the directions above and hopefully that will get you a lil’ somethin’ somethin’! 🙂

(Thanks, Wheel ‘N Deal Mama!)

This is odd–wonder if its a free coupon? Thanks Collin!

  2. fairydust

I did – we’ll see if/what the somethin’ somethin’ turns out to be 🙂

    • Lisa

Keep us posted Fairydust………..the rest of us are too chicken!!!!

  3. Sylvia

I am a little freaked out by this one. It doesn’t seem very legit for me to be messaging my name and address to a person I don’t know. I’m much more comfortable filling out a form… but this “pistachio queen” that we are sending info to doesn’t look very legit. Just a thought…Sorry if I’m being over cautious.

    • mouni

I agree! Weird! I don’t even see anything on their wall.

      • Sylvia

right?! plus after you “like” them they have access to a lot more info… I don’t know. The strange photoshopped picture on pistachio queen’s profile just weirded me out.

    • vee v

I agree! Don’t get me wrong, I love free stuff, coupons, and saving, but this just didn’t seem right. I passed this time.

      • Amy

im going to pass on this one as well

Im one of the 30,000 people who have “liked” wonderful pistachios for about 6 months. A couple weeks ago I posted a picture of a bag of pistachios that I purchased. I received a message saying contact the Pistachio Queen with my address and I did and received, just 2 days later, 3 coupons for free pistachios. I love wonderful pistachios!

        • Donna

That’s awesome (& very reassuring too)! My husband loves Wonderful Pistachios. I always try and pick up a bag for him when I think of it! I’m excited to see what the surprise will be!

PS-thanks Collin for ALL you do!

  4. Smitha

    Thanks Collin!

  5. smellyann

Yum!! I eat 2 bags of these every single day!!

  6. Lisa

I love pistachios, but I think I’m gonna pass on this one.

    • Bee

      Yeah, me too.

  7. Susan Phillips

I did a private message with it.

  8. Rita

when you message someone they automatically get access to your page, they can see your friends, photos and conversations…too much access.

    • becky1618

That is not necessarily true. It depends on what you have your privacy settings set as.

    • Felicia

That’s not true at all, if your profile is set to private no one except your friends can see your information.

  9. Anna

They have some sleazy mascots! No thanks – I don’t want to like them, even though I LOVE pistachios.

    • Jill

      I agree! Very unprofessional.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree. I went to “like” them, but I saw the disgusting picture with boobs popping out. No thanks! I don’t “like” that kind of free stuff.

  10. Dawn

how do you send a message to the Pistachio Queen? Is it the email in the “info” on their Facebook?

    • Donna

On their homepage, on the left, you’ll see Pistachio Queen. Click on her to get to her page. From her page on the upper right hand corner, you can click on “send message”.

  11. Deb

    Passin’ on this one-too freaky.

  12. Noel

me too started to do it but changed my mind

    • Shelly

Thanks Alicia! I printed out the coupon. I didn’t like the facebook page as many other have commented so this saved me from sending my personal info! Thanks again!

  13. lucy

    that is really strange

  14. Daniela

That Pistachio Queen is freaking me out. I’m passing on this one.

  15. Wendy

Sent it using my work address; just a thought 🙂

  16. Donna

I did it!! My favorite is the Pistachio Cat commercial!

  17. Carla

    Ugh, I did and now I wished I hadn’t… Poor self control… 🙁

  18. Randi

I found on their wall “We made 30,000 fans! (No write backs today.)” – I think its legit.

  19. Amber

I just sent my info and now am worried about it. I am really hoping this is a legitimate company promotion. Let me know if any of you find out it is a valid promotion. Thanks!

  20. me

Come on everybody….THIS offer as well as all the others that access your info (and your friends if you allow or don’t pay any attention to settings), is what a “fake” facebook page is FOR!!

    • mouni

But you have to give real info to get the offer (name and address)

      • me

all you have to give is a “real” address…and who can’t get that???

        • mouni

It’s noy just about ”liking” them on FB. The point is I don’t wanna give my name and address to someone I don’t know (pistachio queen) If the offer is indeed legit they need your real address and name to send you this freebie. Otherwise what’s the point of entering?

    • nora

I use a 2nd facebook just for freebies and special offers with “fake” info. Different name and made up birthday

      • 6frugal

PLEASE explain to me how to do this get a 2nd facebook .I do not do the facebook stuff because I don’t want to bother my friends with all this stuff. I/ve tried before but it did not seem to work THNK

        • karen e

Sign up for a facebook page using a e-mail address that isn’t your main one. I created a gmail account that I use for things like this so all the ads aren’t sent to my personal e-mail. Just put in your initials or a “fake” name on the facebook account. And don’t link it to any friends. 🙂 It is super easy.

  21. Debbie

I’m passing as well. I don’t like the pictures they use on their site and the weirdness that everyone else has been mentioning. Sometimes a freebie isn’t worth it.

  22. Annette

EEEK! She only has 3 friends…creeeeepy! No thank you. Saw too much boobage from her on the pistachio site. ugh!

    • Francoise

      “Boobage!” LOL 8)

  23. Sarah

Wow I totally messed up I wasn’t even paying attention I am in zombie mode today didn’t realize what I did tell after I sent the message then I’m thinking what….. uggghhh I need some sleep!!! Hopefully nothing horrific happens from it, although my address is impossible to find, even UPS gets lost sometimes!!!! This is really creepy wish I was paying more attention!!!

    • mamarobyn

You alway have the option of “unlike”ing anyone. 🙂

  24. dana

what is with the sleezes that companies are advertising with???
I got an email from sobe yesterday that I considered porn, and won’t be buying sobe again! what if one of my boys had opened it? I would have considered their emails to have been pretty safe before yesterday!
And this one – we love pistachios – but won’t buy wonderful again! YuckO!!!
Who WOULD want a ‘lil something’ from her?????

    • Katie

The email did not have people having sex, which is porn. It had a SI model, what do you expect? Yes it is inappropriate for little kids, but you can’t possibly consider that porn.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

actually, a pic like that is intended to arouse sensuality – that is indeed porn.
        and ghetto taste!!!

    • Rachael

I agree about the Sobe email, it was in very poor taste. I emailed the company earlier today about my objections.

    • Kathryn K

i unliked sobe for their ad.

  25. cassiesoren

Thanks Collin for the update! You’re always so great about taking the time to check up on a deal when your readers voice their concerns. I sent my info but then read the comments and got worried. I was happy to see you are so on top of things!

  26. tandy898

I sent my info. Guess we’ll see what we get!!!

  27. Bee

Hope everyone who signed up gets a very generous surprise. I thought it was legitimate..it just skeeved me out a little bit.

  28. Samy

Well, Colin called the company – it’s clearly legit. And it doesn’t creep me out all that much (it’s just a quirky promotion, guys!)

  29. can't believe the uproar

Calm down, take a deep breath and do it or don’t do it but shhhhhh. I can’t understand why everyones knickers are in a twist!

  30. bergen

I am confused about why this is Freaking people out….. you like the page, go to the owners page and send an email. You don’t ev en have to friend her…just send the email with your address. Anyone can get your address.. its not like they are taking social security/credit numbers. I am really asking…. I don’t get why this is any different than the other giveaways we enter. Reputable company with confirmed legitimacy.

    • deanna

      i totally agree

  31. dot

The deal must be over because I couldn’t figure how to send her a message.

    • Sandra Lee

Did you look in the top right hand corner for the “send message” button.

  32. Sandra Lee

I think what people are concerned with is posting their name and address on the wall. That’s just plain foolish. To send a message to the “Queen” is no different than filing out a form. Posting it for the world to see, I can definitely see problems with that.

  33. Carla

It was over yesterday at 3:00 PST.
