Well, I just heard word from reader, Jermaine, that the travel size Cottonelle wipes are actually generating the Register Reward! If that is in fact the case, you can score the travel packs for just $0.24 each! Here’s how…

*Buy 2 Cottonelle travel size fresh wipes $0.99 each
Total = $1.98
Get Back a $1.50 Register Reward
Final cost ONLY $0.24 each!

(Thanks for emailing, Jermaine and thanks for testing the deal, Wild for Wags!)

This deal brings to mind a question I often have…is there a trick to finding out just what size/configuration of an item generates a RR or ECB? I know from experience that the cashiers don’t know…they always have to run the deal as if it’s a real transaction…happened to me with a Nivea deal at CVS a few weeks ago: ad stated a certain size of lotion would prompt the ECB’s but I found a display case with a few giant bonus sized lotions…cashier said he didn’t know if the size would “work”…since there was no one in line, I had him try it. It did and I bought (with coupons, of course) but sometimes I wouldn’t really want the item if I didn’t get rewarded at the end. Do you just say, oh, no thanks, void it? Or do you pay and then return it? I’d hate to hold up the line being for being such a cheapskate. But, hey, I am! How do you handle this, Collin and others?

    • Rachael

I typically do whatever is easiest for the cashier because I go to many stores frequently and already have enough trouble with using coupons. I feel as if they already think I’m annoying so if I try to make things a little easier for them, maybe they’ll be more likely to make things easier for me in the future. However, it does get frustrating.

    • Blanca

I actually went in today and bought two of those and did receive 1.50 RR ! The cashier was surprised and went back and looked to see what had generated the RR. So they definitely don’t know every RR deal. I am a NEWBIE ( as in today was my first trip with coupons!!!) and I have to say I had wonderful experiences at both Rite Aid and Walgreens. I’d say that I would have them void it, however I didn’t have a line behind me and I was still sweating. LOL! I’d be interested to see what other people would do as well. =)

I am new to couponing and wanted to share my experiences from shopping at Walgreens yesterday. I love this site and was able to score some great deals. I purchased the pediacare, $10 worth of febreeze, softsoap, dawn, ajax, toothpaste, toothbrush, broadway nails, pads, Etc. I had about $60-70 worth of merchandise. The first time I checked out some of my coupons did not scan, I knew something was off b/c my OOP was higher than I expected. I asked the cashier and she said they all scanned. Well when I got my receipt and checked there was $7 worth of coupons that had not scanned. I went back to the register and she pulled out all of my coupons from the drawer and checked them all off my receipt and I was right. She refunded my purchase and rerang it. After coupons and RR from last week, I paid $8.43 for $60-70 worth of stuff. Plus I have $12 in new RR for next week. So that was the good part of my day!!!! Now for the bad. After shopping at Walgreens, I ran into Wal-mart to use the last of my $3/1 Gain coupons. I came back out to find that everything I had purchased at Walgreens had been stolen from my van. I am 38 weeks pregnant and had my 2YO daughter with me…so in my rush/pregnancy induced forgetfulness I did not lock my doors. I was only in Wal-mart for 15-20 minutes. I called the police and filled out a report, but was told there was not much they could do b/c the cameras outside of this particular Wal-mart only record the first 7-8 rows of parking spaces. Anything farther than that is to blurry. So I got some great deals and didn’t even get to enjoy them. I just don’t understand people, Who steals out of a minivan with car seats strapped into it. I hope they really needed the stuff, but I’m sure they just returned the stuff to a store somewhere for the cash. And if they did they will get back full price instead of what I actually paid for it. GRRR! that is what really makes me mad. They are gonna get paid for all the time and effort I put into gathering the coupons, planning my purchases, and then making sure the cashier rang them all up right. Anyways sorry this was so long, but I had to vent!!!! Thanks for listening!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m so sorry, I feel si bad reading what happen to you
Sorry sweetie and congrats in your new baby

    • Rachael

OMG! That is so horrible!!! Unfortunately, there are many people who do not care about anyone except for themselves! I live in a small town and have been stolen from many times. I made the mistake of leaving my son’s favorite toy in the yard, and the next morning found it completely smashed in the street. People are cruel, and it is very sad. I hope today is better, and you have an easy delivery!

    • Tracy

That’s horrible. I don’t know what is wrong with people these days. It seems like all they want is people to hand them things. I am sorry about your bad day. I hope today brings you and new deals.

    • Marilynn Walton

I am SO sorry this happened to you, Sarah. It is a small consolation that you at
least have the $12 in RR still, but that really does stink! I too hope that it was at
least someone who could really use the stuff, as there are many needy people out
there right now. Glad you had a place to vent.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That is absolutely horrible. People out there now a days are so rude and mean. You worked hard to get your good deals and then someone came and did a horrible thing.

    • amison517

I’m sorry this happened to you. All I can say is that you’ll probably be blessed with an even greater deal because you’ve worked hard to save for your family. Congrats on your upcoming arrival! 😉

    • Bee

Really, that stinks. The best consolation you have is that you are not the type of person to steal just to get by. You probably have a life that’s far more fulfilling and blessed than that person. And they were probably looking for electronics, etc. Be glad they didn’t get something really valuable.

Don’t let the stress of if affect you and your baby.

I have a hard time imagining that someone did not see the person doing this and wonder what the deal was. Taking stuff out of a car? Not getting in the car and driving off? Sounds like Wal-Mart has a little security issue since that person had to be going around trying door handles.

      • Sarah

Thanks everybody for the good wishes!!! I am so excited to meet our new little girl!!! I am over it now! I have so many blessings in my life that I will not let something like that get me down for long!! Love the blog and I will enjoy lots more deals to come!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sarah I feel so bad after reading your story. I don’t have anymore pedicare coupons but if you need any other coupons I would be happy to send them to you. That really sucks someone would break into your car, and a mini van at that. Try not to let it bother you, I know easier said than done, but take good care of you and that precious baby girl who will be blessing your home soon. Please, list the coupons you need, I’m sure what I don’t have others would be happy to send you also. 🙂

      • Kirsten

I agree with Sarah, let us know what coupons you need and I’m sure we can through all of us helping replace them. So sorry that happened to you. That is absolutely terrible. Just curious as to what state you live in?

    • Shelly

Hi Sarah, sorry for your horrible experience yesterday. If you would like, I have a Wags Infant care pamphlet with baby coupons you may have..may help with the new arrival 🙂 … just email me at shellypsu1 at gmail dot com. Congrats!

      • Sarah

Wow! All you ladies are great!!!! I have already replaced most of the items but thank you soooo much for offering to share your coupons with me!!! I can use the Infant care booklet….I have not been able to find any around here. Shelly I will send you an e-mail! Thanks again for all your kindness! God Bless!

Just be glad it wasn’t 6 months worth of PRICELESS thousand’s of pictures and hours of video, including my childs birthday and first time down our favorite waterslide alone, a camera and video camera, a smashed window, and other damage caused trying to get inside. This done at a Toys R Us parking lot 2 weeks before Christmas where I know I was watched by the “trash”, happily walking into the store holding my young child’s hand.
Plus, where my child was donating a toy to Toys for Tots, and comes out to a scene like this.
The personal items were NOT in sight and I had them with me because we had just left an outdoor movie and I always have my cameras with me when we go places. The “scum” was after the screens in the headrest, which they damaged but couldn’t get out. I wish they would have been able to yank the darn things out and just left my priceless memories alone. (I have a very bad memory and I NEED pictures and video to remember things) They found the priceless items while inside.
Not to mention my child’s security of wondering everytime we go into the store if the window will be broken when we come out, which my child still mention sometimes.
I now have my own vehicle to drive instead of the one that was broken into that belonged to someone else here, so hopefully my child doesn’t think about the possibility of our vehicle being broken into.
Sorry your things were stolen, but at least it was just 100% replaceable stuff that were taken without any mentioned damage to your vehicle.

    • Terri

That is mean mean mean. I bought some PediaCare for my nieces and have plenty of extras of things if you are in need of these items I will ship them to you. I can send you the following; 1-PediaCare Children’s, 1-softsoap, 1-dawn,1- Colgate toothpaste, 1- toothbrush,1- set broadway french manicure nails medium length.
I tell everyone I meet about Collin’s website. I love reading the comments before I try to score a deal. I love couponers!! =0)

  3. Kathy Mills

Pilar—Well with wags it doesn’t print RR until after you pay. I would definitely return it if I didn’t get the RR. That is me personally others may feel different.

    • lisa

I would return it too. I had the cashier run 2 of the cottenelles and when it produced a reward she was surprised. I went back to get more, but didn’t take them all so the cashier could get some too! She was happy to have benefited from my transaction. This site is a blessing,
I was able to score some free and really cheap icecream on another transaction with those rewards, that I will most likely enjoy this evening. Thanks Hip2Save.

  4. Kathy

I just say…”Oops, thought that was on sale (or whatever). Can you void that?” It takes 2 seconds for them to void it so no holding up the line. 🙂

    • Pilar

Yeah, but it’s not easy since the rewards come after paying and the receipt prints out. It’s frustrating for all of us, I guess! Another reason we’re so lucky to have sites like this to keep one another informed of hits and misses! BTW, do any of your Wags around the country have price scanners, like CVS and Target? Ours don’t but it would sure make checking out easier.

      • Kimberly Sh

I was thinking that too. I love that option of going to scan items to check out the price maybe we should all go to corporate website and tell them we want this LOL

    • Lori

Making a return at our Walgreens is quite an ordeal, they have to call for a manager (which means jumping to the other register, and waiting, explain the “story” and then get your refund)

  5. Tonya

I just bought 2 travel size @ .99 each and one regular size tub for $3.49 and used my free tub coupon from FB promotion. I got back $2 RR. So .50 for all 3. Value on coupon was only $2.99. I’m stoked.

  6. andrea

Just did this at a wags in springfield mo and it worked PERFECT

    • Alisha

Which one? I live in NIxa, but am in Springfield everyday…

  7. Jermaine

Not trying to be arrogant but Im glad I found this deal at Wags!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Any one know if this its working on the cottonelle 84 refill pack on sale for $2.99 with in store couponn?

      • Laura

Yes I got it yesterday, I didn’t even know about it so it was a nice surprise!

    • Veronica
    • Veronica

Thanks Jermaine, it takes all of us working together to pass these deals along to each other.

      • Kimberly Sh

So it does work on the refill awesome going there.
        Thanks girls

        • Jermaine

youre so right Veronica. And speaking of deals, I found another good one. My Walmart has KY Jelly for 99 cents, use the 2.00 off coupon from the SS (forgot date) or the All You Feb issue and you make an extra dollar moneymaker :).

And by the way Im in Dallas, TX.

    • Rachael

      Me, too! Thanks!

  8. Kristen

Just tried this in Spokane, WA at Crestline Wags did not work. I kept em anyway. Use them for my 3yr old son. YMMV! Good luck!

  12. Mrs S

Travel size Cottonelle RR did not work at Vancouver, WA Mill Plain Walgreens. Bummer!

  13. Karen

It worked for me today in IL. Also, I bought 2 of the scrubbing bubbles on sale for buy 1/get 1 free priced at $3.59. I surrendered 2 $2 coupons for scrubbing bubbles & he took them both & didnt bring the 2nd coupon down which surprised me. I paid $2.10 for 2 scrubbing bubbles & 2 cottonelle travel wipes, less my $1.50 RR so OOP 60cents!!

  19. Shelly

    worked in Conway, SC

  20. Stacie

I bought two packs today, and I got $1.50 back. I got so excited that later I went back and bought 4 more. Nope no print out that time. I’m in Chico, CA. I bought Pediacare too. The machine keeps spitting out $1.50 off one. I have 4 bottles now, and ANOTHER coupon. How do you say no to free medicine?

    • Latasha

I’m in Red Bluff, CA! Nice to know there are couponers in the area!

      • Cassandra
      • Cassandra

I’m in Orland! Hello fellow North Ca couponers :).

        • Latasha

          I grew up in Orland!

  21. Stacie

Hey wait a second. If I used the RR from the first cottonelle to buy the new cottonelle will it not print a RR?

    • Jessica

NO it will not print the next RR. you cant use an RR for the same item and then get another one for the same items..thats their policy..Good Luck next time!

  22. Margie

So bad thing is my daughter has a cold… good new is I feel like I’ve won 3 times in the past few weeks! I won the Johnsonville Sausage party which we are hosting tomorrow. I also stocked up with the other week’s Target frozen food and Target brand cleaners and ibuprofen. Then today, with my stuffy red-nosed daughter, I did this Cottonelle and the Pediacare deal. It worked great. Went to my Walgreens here in VA and did the Cottonelle deal (travel size wipes $0.99 each) buy 3 for $3 and got $2 rewards bucks. Then did 2nd transaction- Pediacare and Puffs tissues with the double coupons plus the $2 rewards bucks. So got 3 regular size boxes of Puffs with Lotion, 3 travel Cottonelle wipes, and 2 Pediacare meds (one allergy and other for colds) for total of $5.70. Love, love, love your site. I am a Hip2save-a-holic! In this time of penny pinching every bit counts. Thanks Collin!
