Hey Collin! Thought I would let you know about a pretty sweet deal going on now. Amazon has the Enjoy Life Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, Gluten, Dairy & Soy Free, 10-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6), on a Friday Sale for 14.07! That is a HOT deal, considering a bag of these at my local grocery store cost 5.49!! My husband and daughter both have a SEVERE lactose allergy, and they LOVE these! People with soy or nut allergies will love these too! I cannot stress enough how AMAZING these taste! We eat them straight out of the bag! Once you taste these, you will never go back to regular chocolate chips!! It’s a great feeling knowing that I can safely feed these to my daughter and not have to worry.
Thanks for the heads up on this sale, Adrianne! I just bought myself a pack of 6. Can’t wait to try them! ๐
My mother-in-law will love this deal. She eats handful of chocolate throughout a day…
I should forward this deal to her ๐
Thanks for listing this post. My daughter had a milk protein allergy so I was unable to consume any products that contain milk while breastfeeding. It was a long 6 months, almost everything has milk or soy in it- especially desserts!
same here momma! I’m only about 1/2 way through my current (second) pregnancy – but we had one sad first baby for three months until we figured out it was a cows’ milk protein allergy! So this time I’m gonna cut cows’ dairy out of my diet in about a month – give three months for it to get out of my system (per pediatric GI doc’s suggestion) and not have any for a looong while after the baby is born so we can slowly reintroduce it to my (and his) diet to see if he has the same problem. I’m so stoked to have these chocolate chips during that time! THANKS ADRIANNE, ALLISON & ZOE!!
Hi Mo,
Thank you for sharing your story. I wondered how we would handle a second pregnancy to try and avoid this problem? I had never heard of this until my daughter was born. I would love to hear how both of you are doing after the birth. Feel free to email me. Did your first child out grow the problem?
Julie
I have to rely solely on soymilk now to give my daughter. Her pediatrician (whom we love) told us that sometimes the child will grow out of it during her second year. That may not be the case with us, because my husband is intolerant. So it’s kind of a waiting game with us! She is 14 months.
Julie, I had that same problem when I was breastfeeding my daughter…..it seemed like EVERYTHING I wanted to eat had some form of milk in it! It was a rough year ; ). These were my one indulgence.
Hi Adrianne,
It’s so nice to hear someone else continued to breastfeed. My pediatrician actually was pushing me to stop! Needless to say he is no longer our pediatrician. I’m wondering if you have any other children and if they were affected by this allergy? It was really hard to get information and support for this type of allergy. This is our first child and I’m not sure what to expect if we have more children. I would love to get some insight from you. You could email me at juliechahada@yahoo.com if you feel like sharing.
Thanks again!
well my child is highly allergic to several food, he is 19 months old, many people look down on me, however the pediatrician and allergist say to keep breast feeding him. so at 19 months he still breast feeds.
however the WHO and several other organization recommend breast feeding until age 2 anyways.
this was God design in mother nature – good luck to both of you.
My dairy allergy son nursed some until he was 3.. so don’t worry about what others are thinking!
dd is 16 months, allergic to nuts soy dairy eggs and has intolerance to wheat and sefood/shellfish…crazy how this is popping up nowadays. in any case these chips taste like reg semi sweet chips and work fine in baking n cooking. thanks!
oh and she still only nurses. ๐
Julie,
No other kids (yet!), but my husband is allergic to dairy so they think it might be genetic. I would love to email you though, to share some insight!
Julie – a lot of the milk allergy is concentrated in the Midwest so they are leaning toward it being hereditary (I was milk intolerant but not soy as was my daughter, sister and nieces). The most research done on it is done in Omaha, NE which is by where I live. A breastfeeding center here in Nebraska has an online support group that you can join – essentially it’s just a distribution list but I know there are people from all over that have joined it. A lot of the info you get might be local but you could gain a lot of valuable info as well. Here is the site. Just email the email address and ask to join! https://milkworks.org/virtual-support
Hi Jess,
Thank you for the information. It’s interesting that there is so much in the midwest? My husband was sick as a baby, but he is from out of country- and it was never diagnosed. I will definitely email them.
Thanks for sharing that website! : )
Does anyone know how long this deal will last? Could I count on it to still be there when I get off of work? Around 4:30pm??? I Absolutely want to try these!!! This seems like an excellent price even when you compare them to regular chocolate chips, as those can be very expensive!
I am soooo happy that there is a amazon deal that is finally nut-free. this is great for my peanut allergic daughter, because i can’t just buy her any treat in the store, and pretty much have to make everythink from scratch. Chocolate chip cookies in the future for this household.
Hersheys chocolate chips are made in a peanut free factory!
I am so tempted to buy these. My son has a milk/soy protein allergy and I am breastfeeding. I want some chocolate so bad! These might be great to have around the house to satisfy those little cravings ๐
My 6 month old daughter is milk protein intolerant too. These chocolate chips are great. Also, you can eat the Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips. I’ve found them in most any grocery store as well as Walmart and Target.
Ladies, these are INCREDIBLE, and so worth the money. I know I am totally going to sound like I work for this company (LOL), but I promise I don’t! I just know how hard it is to have kids/spouses with allergies. ; )
We don’t have allergies but I got them anyway. I’d rather avoid some of those things even though I don’t have to. Especially at that price! ๐
Thank you for posting this!
I just ordered these a couple weeks ago – for quite a bit more. My daughter has a life threatening dairy allergy so this is the only chocolate that’s ‘safe’ and tastes great! I will certainly be ordering more of these today. This is a great deal!
I think I got the last two b/c I couldn’t order more and now its from a different seller. Thank you so much!
Does anyone know what the sugar content is in these? I have to watch gluten, dairy, and sugar. Thanks!
I think they are gone
It looks like they sold out…only available by other sellers now. ๐
so sad . . .
Oh I wanted these so bad…they are gone.
I found a 12 pack of 10 oz bags for $4.79 with $7.78 shipping. Not bad for that many bags! Seems too good to be true though, 90% off!

Thanks Guys! Just updated the post! ๐
I guess no free amazon prime shipping
Is this the same product??

Im so sad i missed this, for those of you that got it, they melt beautifully. Just add a tab of soy butter or crisco. I dip pretzels in them and them add sprinkles, my daughter has dairy allergies and i just did the pretzels for her birthday treats for school. i used the leftover choc and made a mold of a butterfly for easter. we have also added them to oatmeal YUM!
Item Weight: 10.5 pounds
Shipping Weight: 1.1 pounds
Can anyone clarify exactly what we are getting? There’s no way it’s 10 lbs of cookies for $4.XX.
*Chips, not cookies.
No – it’s gonna be 12 10oz packs – so that’s how it’ll come to a little over a pound. HTH!
12 – 10 oz packs equals 120 oz., which is 7.5 lbs. I, too, am confused by how the shipping weight can be 1.1 lbs. I’m concerned that the wording on this is wrong and it’s actually for 1 – 10 oz bag, not a pack of 12.
My guess is that it is an item listing error – and 1 package will ship. That price would be normal for one bag (tho shipping would be rediculous). I called customer service but there is no answer and since it’s a 3rd party seller – not shipped thru Amazon, I would be leary about purchasing.
Anyone have to go egg and peanut free (and minimal dairy/soy)?? I’m always looking for baked-goods recipies that taste good and have consistency that doesn’t crumble. I’d love some suggestions ๐
Our son is egg, dairy, soy, peanuts and tree nut free. http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org has tons of great recipes! I learned to cook from them because I cooked NOTHING before and now have to cook everything from scratch.
We started out peanut, treenut, egg, dairy, soy, wheat, corn and pea free. We’ve since added watermellon to the list, but taken off wheat (which made life so much easier) and some of the others seem to be more an intollerance. I’ve been doing this 5 years now and my cake still falls apart! So much for breastfed babies being healthier ๐
I was egg/peanut/dairy/soy free for a while when I was nursing my daughter. It wasn’t too bad. I used coconut oil in place of butter, rice milk in place of milk, and a powder egg replacer. I made Rice Krispie bars using canola oil in place of the butter. I made a lot of sweet breads and muffins using the replacements. They all turned out good!
My blog is about a milk, egg, peanut-free home. My cake recipe is the most popular post on the site.

OMG THANK YOU!!!! I am praying this goes through. One of my boys is severely soy allergic, and both boys are highly lactose intolerant. This is the ONLY chocolate I can find for them- and it is almost $5 a bag in a store that is 45 minutes from us- that’s the closest. So not kidding- I just bought 2 deals (24 bags). A HUGE amount of chocolate I know, but my son is almost 2 and just had chocolate for the first time last week. Chocolate stays good a long time and these are great to throw in pancakes & waffles on the weekends too!!
I have to say this is the most AWESOMEST (I know not really a word) deal I have ever seen for these! I buy these at the grocery store for around $5 a bag! Being that my son has a dairy allergy these taste just as good if not better than regular chocolate chips. I love them too.
This is one of those too good to be true but keeping my fingers crossed- I pay $6 a bag for those in AK and I just ordered them for $1/bag shipped to AK!! I will have one very happy 7 yr old boy if this deal works out ;-).
If you order multiple bags, they just get cheaper, because shipping increases very minimally… I ordered qty. 2, and they came to $.76 each.
I just bought these for my grand daughter. Poor thing is allergic to nuts, eggs, wheat, so this will be great.
Just ordered 2 sets(24 bags)! Shipping only went up to $8 and change. Looking forward to trying these with all of my allergies!
I hope this deal goes through. I would love to keep these on hand for the LO! At this price, it’s cheaper than regular chips even w/a coupon!
I snagged these at my local h.e.b on clearance for 2 dollars and had a dollar off coupon! ๐
I bought 10 (120 bags) of these (gotta prepare myself for bake sales in spring and they only add up to a little over $.52 cents for each bag, which is WAAAYYY cheaper than store brand chocolate chips plus it’s allergy-free for all of the kids with allergies who might feel left out during bake sales). I might just gobble these up before those bake sales, but I’ll resist for now. ๐
The Amazon deal is back again…for those who are leary about purchasing the $4.79 one.
So which deal would you go for? Amazon or the 3rd party one?
And gone again…
My son has life threatening allergies to dairy, soy, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts. We use the chocolate chips all the time! This is a dedicated “Top 8 Free” food allergy brand that we adore. We don’t even buy real chocolate chips anymore…you will not be able to tell the difference…I promise! And they freeze just like regular chocolate chips. Thank you Collin! This is an amazing deal on these!!! For allergy free recipe ideas, go to http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org–a non-profit organization that has literally saved the life of my child and my sanity!
http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org Sorry about the first link!
priced just jumped to $9 something… still a good deal though
pack of 12 is now $24…$2 a bag, still not a dealbreaker!
shipping keeps jumping from $13.xx to $6.XX so i emailed the seller with a copy and paste of the $6.xx and asked for an adjustment. lets see what he says.
the total could be $17 as opposed to $24.
Canceled…bummer.
Mine too! ๐
I just got an email that my order was canceled. They said:
Due to a listing issue with Amazon the description is off, it shows “Enjoy Life Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips 10 oz Each / Pack of 12”. We are not offering apack of 12 at 4.79. The
price of $4.79 is an idividual price.
We are working with Amazon to correct this issue and have removed this
item from the site. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused. We have canceled your order thru Amazon and you will receive
notification from Amazon of the cancelation.
This is sad. ๐
Was too good to be true……..bummer………part of the email I just received

I got this email:
“Thank you for your recent order on our Amazon store. We want to make sure you are
satisfied with your order before we begin shipping. The listing was altered by another
merchant right before you placed your order. This created some confusion for our
customers. Your order is for (1 Bag) of Enjoy Life Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips — 10 oz
Each. If you are satisfied with this, we will ship your item today. If you were
expecting something different, we would be happy to refund your order. Please respond
letting us know if you would like your bag of Enjoy Life Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips to
ship or if you would like us to cancel your order and you will receive a complete
refund.”
I’m confused–does that mean after shipping costs are included, I’m paying $23.74 for ONE 10 oz bag?!? Are they kidding me? I’m extremely disappointed; was so excited to get them. I think they should have kept their promise, regardless of what happened. I bought it before it was changed to unavailable; I had no idea anything was wrong until this morning. Anyone else get this email? I emailed them back to clarify what they meant about keeping my order and if same cost or not.
They just canceled my order without even answering my question and refunded my money. It was from different email so I don’t even know if they will answer my questions of what they meant in my previous comment on here. I sent another reply to that different email to ask them if they could please clarify what is going on and why cancel without my permission like what they stated in the first email of asking me if I wanted to keep order or not.
I’m so disappointed–didn’t expect to have bad experience like this with Amazon.com ๐
Bummer. Oh well, it was too good to be true, I suppose.
I’ve heard both ways – that staying away from possible allergens (that already run in the family) during pregnancy will be safest – & also that that is nonsense – & to eat whatever while you’re pregnant (of course, only if YOU aren’t allergic to it yourself LOL). My husband has a soy/peanut/bean allergy, but I ate PB practically my whole pregnancy w/my first child (but excluded all three of those allergens once our son was born/while I was nursing) & he tested negative for allergies to any of them at 1 year old. However, I didn’t know anything about cows’ milk protein allergies at the time, so that was unfortunately NOT something I stayed away from while nursing – & well, it totally bit us in the butt. After three months of a screaming, non-napping, SUPER barfy baby who eventually started to LOSE weight – we saw a pediatric GI doc who told us it was a cows’ milk protein allergy – that it’s actually pretty common & that it can take three months from the last time the mother had cows’ milk products to get out of HER system – let alone the baby’s system. I was really sad to give up nursing, but I could not go another three months w/a screaming baby who never slept. We have no family where we live, no extra money for a nanny/sitters, & I just couldn’t do it anymore – so we switched to a hypo-allergenic baby formula (Enfamil Nutramigen; Similac makes something similar, and I believe BabiesRUS now has a store-brand of something similar), which helped right away. After his first birthday we tried cow’s milk & ended up w/gross poops – so we did goat’s milk instead (w/the okay of our pediatrician) & sometime before his 2nd birthday we tried cows’ milk again, & he was fine & has been since; per the GI doc, it is definitely common for them to outgrow it before long. I’m just planning on staying away from cows’ dairy for the last three months of this pregnancy/after birth for quite a while – then slowly introducing it to see how it affects this one. I’m hoping to be able to steer clear of the allergy this time – but I’m not counting on it as my mom told me later that I was put on soy formula in the 70’s b/c I had ‘colic’ (and my sister had the same problem in the 90’s). Guessing it runs on my side of the family – but breastfeeding is so important to me that I’ll do whatever we’ve gotta do. It’s only two years & they go by fast at that, so, you know. ๐ HTH!
Hi Mo,
That helps a lot. I can’t believe it stays in the body for 3 months. That explains so much. Both doctors I saw said it would not stay in my system that long, although her symptoms persisted. I had to alternate between breatfeeding about 2/3 of the day and 1/3 of the day the bottle. At 6 months I stopped completely, much sooner than I had planned on quitting. It’s good you have a stradegy all planned out. I really hope everything goes well.
Mine got cancelled too….oh well…guess I am not really out anything. It would have been an awesome deal!
Which seller is canceling the orders? I’m waiting for my cancellation ๐ id be so excited if it doesn’t get canceled.let’s see.
My order was placed via ezshopper I think.
Received email from EZ shopper basically saying it was a typo and asking if I want one bag for $23?! Uhhh….no thanks!
cancelled here too. ๐
