So sad:( We have over 2,000 potato head pieces and about 10 bodies and 4 vegetable bodies and my DH is making me sell them:( Always been one of my favorite toys:( I really want to go scoop this deal up and say “I’m not selling Potato!”

    • princessbooboo

oh no! Why is your husband making you sell them??
Do you think you can talk to him and say “hey, you may not think so, but these are very important to me. How do you feel if I make you sell things that you like? These are my little treasure to me. Please reconsider about selling them.” or something like that?

  2. princessbooboo

These potato head face always makes me smile 🙂 I don’t know why, but it does

  3. Margie

Just stocked my “store” with a bunch of toys and games from Walgreens. Various toys priced $6.99 – $19.99 on clearance for $1.79 – $4.99! I felt soooo accomplished!

  4. Joyce Henry

Won’t let me in. Is this running slow??? Anyone else having trouble?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It is running really slow….but I did get the coupons to print…eventually.

    • Lisa @ Drugstore Divas

It’s taking forever for me. I’ve been waiting almost ten mins and the green line is just swirling, but no coupons yet. And to think I’m hoping to print two, ha.

    • jennifer

mine got stuck on the printing page (no actual printing) when i used firefox. i tried IE and it worked fine.

  5. Tara

So excited about the playdoh and potato head deals! Thanks for posting 🙂

    • Tara

So disappointed! TRU was swarmed with people. All they had were 5 Mr. Potato heads left (no Mrs. for my little girl) and hardly any play doh products. They didn’t have any of the Cookie Monster or 24 packs at my store. (Parmatown Mall, Parma, Ohio). Boo!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

We just went this afternoon and all they had on the shelves were the Mr.’s. I asked the service desk to check in back if they had the Mrs. and they did and brought me one up. You may have to ask for the girl ones. They are cute, got one of each.

  6. Rayna

The Mr. Potato Head deal sounds great! I don’t know if Toys r us allows coupon stacking but my daughter received a Toys r us $1/1 item from the 3D Easter Adventure. If they do allow it this would be an even better deal for $.99. 🙂

    • jennifer

ooh… my daughter got one of those too. thanks for reminding me!

      • Rayna

Your welcome! 🙂 We’re heading over there shorly after we stop by Starbucks for my free coffee, VS pink freebies, and B&BW’s freebie…I <3 Hip2Save!! 🙂

  7. katie

Does Toys r us price match? If so, the 24 pack is in the wal-mart add this week for $10.

  8. Bridget

I’ve used several of the game coupons on the travel games. They run anywhere from $4.99 to $7.99 in stores so I’ve bought several for 2 and 3 bucks!!

  9. Valerie

I purchased these for hardly anything after the holidays in 2009 and I included them in my baby baskets. The ladies were all commenting on them. So remember….good baby gift filler!

  10. Sue

Thanks for sharing. My kids are older now, but I’m going to buy this for a church mission trip that gives out toys at Christmas!

  11. Stephanie

Hello, I got a great deal at CVS with this $2 coupon- They have a smaller version of the Potato Head- I’m assuming as the box is smaller than normal……but it’s with the easter items for $3 so only $1 after the coupon….I got one but headed back for more—-need more for the baskets 😉 Thanks Collin and thanks to all you readers who help as well!!!

    • Rebecca

I got the same deal at walmart! they had Mrs. Potato, Cowboy potato, etc. THey’re super cute!

  12. Subhangi Shah

i just called Toys R Us and they said the Play Doh is buy 2 get the 3rd free. is there something different?

  13. Gabrielle

I think I’m going to price match at Walmart since the nearest toysrus is an hour away. That’s a great deal for the potato head! Does anyone know how much these sell for at walmart normally?

    • Amanda

I got one at Walmart the other day actually and it was about $6.50 so with coupon $4.50. I just picked one up at ToysRus for $1.99 while I was there getting diapers…..soooo I’ll be returning the one I bought at WM for a store credit since I bought it with a giftcard lol. I wish I had thought to just take the ToysRus ad to WM and get a price adjustment but my brain is gone today apparently!!!

  14. Amanda

I just got back from ToysRus near me and was able to pick up a Mr. Potato Head for the $1.99 price with coupon…thanks for posting! Oh btw I did look at the Playdoh section and it was all marked buy 2 get 3rd free….bummer =(

      • Kathleen

It is looking like the deal is regional I just checked it for my zip code and it is buy 2 get 1 free.

        Bummer!

    • jennifer

i just got back and got 2 of the cookie monster play doh sets… buy 1 get 1 free in seattle! they didn’t have mrs. potato head. 🙁 my daughter already has the mr. so i skipped that. also nabbed a weeble. wasn’t on sale, but had the $2 off coupon and my daughter’s been wanting one. 🙂

      • Julie

        Hi Jennifer,

My Babies R Us said I could exchange the Mr for the Mrs when they come in? You might want to ask your store.

        • jennifer

oooh… great idea. why didn’t i think of that? thanks!

  15. bridget

Do I have to spend 29 for the first toy when my ad says that I only have to spend 24.99 to get the BOGO? This was for the previous ad about FP toys.

    • Julie

      Hi Bridget,

I went and got a price adjustment for a Fisher Price toy that was 24.99 and the second was 20.99. The manager at TRU rang me up no problems. There signs say $29.99 in store at TRU but they say $24.99 at BRU. Either way the ad said $24.99 bring it with you just in case. There were no disclaimers about a typo in the store, so you should be fine. They are taking the manufacturer coupons for VTech on both items as long as they are over $19.99. Got $40 worth for $10 and 3 potato heads for $1.99 each. Even the cashier was asking about my coupons. LOL- good trip.

      • bridget

        Thanks! I was confused!

  16. Alicia

Does anyone know what newspaper the 2day sale ad would be in? I don’t have a toysrus near me and I want to price-match at target.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went to Walmart and ad matched and got both mr. and mrs. potato head and the coupon wouldn’t scan. The csm took forever trying to figure it out, she eventually just rang them both up for $1.99 and took the coupons. I hope she doesn’t get ino trouble, but I don’t understand why the coupon wouldn’t scan, it kept saying “no matching item” but they were the exact item?? Thanks Collin, these will make cute Easter gifts!!!

  17. Kristy Jameson

I grabbed up the last two they had in the store. I used 2 coupons and one Toys R Us Rewards coupon for $5.00 and paid a total of $0.32!! exciting!!

  18. Brook

The coupon for the potato head says “classic Mr. Potato Head”, will this work in the mrs. potato head?

    • Rebekah

I think it was for the mr. or mrs. I did ask if I could get the toy story potato head dressed as Woody, but that was a no

    • Annette

I got one of each, Mr. and Mrs., and the coupons worked on both.

  19. Tricia

Hit TRU here in Texas and got 2 Mr. Potato Heads and 2 cookie monster play-doh sets for the nephews. I used 4 coupons total and with tax and BOGO sale, I paid $14.04. The husband was with me and he was super impressed with the coupon adventure!!!

  20. Kelli

Just a side note, I was at Toys R Us today and got the Crayola Colored Bubbles double pack with six wands for $4.01 and the second for $2.00 after using 2 $2/1 coupons I got both for $2. I was also able to get the bubble gun set for $8 for the first one and $4 for the second. In all I got 4 double bubble sets and 2 gun sets, after price matching their online prices and coupons,I paid $14.32

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Beware! I have not used the crayola color bubbles, but I haven’t heard good things about them at all. all the rumors say that they stain

      • Kelli

Thanks for the heads up. We will only use them outside while taking breaks swimming in the pool. I so appreciate you letting me know!

  21. Rebekah

I went to ToysRUs to try my luck. I did get 2 Mr. potato heads (Mrs. was all gone) But the cookie monster playdoh toy was GONE. I live in Utah, she said the closest store that had one was somewhere in CA! So I got the playdoh with my coupons. HOWEVER, I realized too late that if I had taken my ad to Walmart or Target, I could have matched the deal – IF they have that toy. I was kicking myself. Newbie mistake. FYI a friendly couponer in the store told me not to buy the crayola packs there – she said they were in the Walgreens ad for 2 for $3, combne with coupons makes them only .50 – that’s a deal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Rebekah,
I’m not sure about your Walmart, but my walmart won’t price match a BOGO sale. You’re OK with the potato heads, but I’m not sure you’d be able to get the playdoh deal. My TRU was also out of the Mrs. Potato Head but had the Mr. in stock. The employee told me that they get their shipment in on Tuesdays and have some ordered. She advised me to just buy the Mr. and take it back in to exhange it on Tuesday 🙂 Have a great Easter!

  22. Jenny

I was able to use the $2 off of Mr. Potatoe Head at Dollar General and got 2 small Potatoe Heads for $1 each (a Mr. and a Mrs.)! They were great for my 2 and 4 year old’s Easter baskets. Also, KMart has some of their Crayola Color Explosion packs on clearance for $4. I got 4 of the Princess ones for $2 each.
