My mother in-law and I were out shopping at Rite Aid a couple weeks ago and took pause when we thought we spotted a coupon underneath a truck parked outside. We knew we had totally gone coupon crazy when she found a nearby stick to try to reach it (and I stood by, taking a picture and nearly wetting my pants as I watched her efforts)! Unfortunately, it wasn’t a coupon we had spotted, just a receipt. But I do have a wonderful memory that makes me laugh every time I think of it!

I’m only 21 but I’m guilty of doing this all the time! My boyfriend says “don’t you have enough?” LOL
That’s great! I’d totally do that too. I always leave stacks of coupons by products that I’m not going to use, but if I spot a coupon someone else leaves, I ALWAYS have to stop and see if it’s something I can use myself. 🙂
i so do the same thing! i actually love it when i see stuff in people’s carts and we chat and i say, hey i have a coupon for that that i won’t be using by the expiration date! someone told me the other day “omg that is amazing! only in madison !” i told her oh no hon it’s everywhere 😉

LOL!!! That is great…..and I know how that goes..I have picked up a few off the ground at cvs and grocery stores that were amazing finds!!!
I dig the catalinas out of the garbage cans in the self check lanes! Hey…why not?!
Ha! I do the same thing. I purposely look for a lane with no one in it so no one has to see me checking out the trash bin. My husband hates it but people leave behind really valuable coupons!
My husband did that once at Kroger for me cuz he knows I love a good coupon!! He found several for free products and a few for $/onyo catalinas.
Ha, ha. I totally scooped up some coupons when putting my cart away at Target the other day. People were throwing away money:) I also grab extras left behind at my supermarket while bagging my groceries. Got two free products this way once.
We were at BJ’s the other day. Walking thru the parking lot w/ my 3 year old we spotted one of their fliers that have the BJ’s coupons on it. It had rained the day before but she insisted on picking it up. I said “it’s yucky!” and she said “but it’s cooooopppons!” LOL. I’ve created a monster. 🙂
That is too cute! No, you’re raising a SMART daughter! One day she’ll thank you for showing her how to save money. So many people don’t use coupons!
that is so awesome! my daughter is two and picks up little pieces of paper and says ” 1 dollar off??!!” or “two dollars” two dollars!!!”

I picked up a RR outside of Walgreens one day that had been rained on and was soaking wet and faded. I took it home and dried it out. I wasn’t sure if it would still scan or not, but figured hadn’t lost anything if it didn’t. I knew as soon as I bent over to pick it up that I was officially coupon crazy. It did work once it was dried!

what we won’t do to save a coupole bucks 🙂 once i picked up a rite aid gift card in the parking lot and it had about 4 bucks 🙂 i was quite happy!
I saw a receipt outside of Riteaid that had been rained on and was flat on the ground but you could still see the survey code so I copied the survey code on a piece of paper. This older lady was looking at me like what the heck is she doing, probably thought I was copying credit card info or something bad! It’s pretty sad also when I watch people and hope they litter and throw their receipt on the ground!!!
After such a hectic day… I always know I can come to your site and smile. Thanks!
Love this story and picture and love that she was out couponing with her mother – in – law and having fun with her. Not everyone has that kind of relationship with their mother – in law.
I’ve been known to stop my jogging stroller mid stride when passing behind the local kroger on my daily route with my son- I’ve found $5 off order cats that way before!
This is too funny! I think we are all guilty of doing this at one point or another.
Lol.. My Fiance actually has a better eye for finding coupons left behind than eye do! I think he really loves how much money I save us hehe.

I’ve been guilty of peeling a soggy RR off the sidewalk at Wags too.
Today my DD and I were outside of Safeway and I saw a Catalina on the ground with a 25-point Pampers Gift to Grow code on it. I picked that thing right up! 25 points is 25 points!
While I was doing some Christmas shopping, I found a catalina coupon for 30% of at the GAP in the gutter at Walgreens. I was able to find gifts for 90% of my list and saved $$$! The best part was that the store was having a 15% off the entire store sale, so I basically got everything for 45% off, yay!!!
i’m also guilty of picking up change in parking lots…but hey money’s money 😉
My husbands says all I ever think about is coupons!

You need to start rebating. I am constantly on the look out for rebates in parking lots. Coupons too. Both make me money all the time.

Several months ago I spotted what I thought was a coupon laying on the floor at the doorway of my office building. I was excited as I approached, reached down and picked it up and it was a $10 bill. My initial reaction was bummer, it’s not a coupon. Then I laughed at myself as it was better than a coupon and yet I was psyched more by thinking I was finding a coupon.
That is so funny! I so wish I had a partner in crime-i dont know any other couponers in my hometown- ive got a few other people started couponing but they live in other cities): That is awesome they are a team! I’ll bet theyre a force to be reckoned with!
Loved the picture. My daughter came home the other day from our park with three ratty goldfish coupons and she proudly presented them to me. A few years ago I would have said YUCK and washed her hands right away. Instead, I said GOOD GIRL! And then we feasted on goldfish after a trip to the store.

I have to say, I usually take my three young boys (all under 5) with me everywhere. There could be a $50 bill on the ground in front of me when I’m out and I probably wouldn’t see it. I’m usually so wrapped up in keeping them in order, I’m lucky if I come home with what I went out for! lol But I would definitely do the same thing to save a buck!
Have to tell you all that I saw a man in the grocery store fully equipped with coupon binder & all shopping today. I had to stop & smile. For some reason this just made my day to see (probably) a dad doing this! This was the first time I’d run across a man couponing, although I know they are out there.
Oh & I can totally relate to the coupon under the tire. Heck yeah I’d look to see what it was – you never know!

My grocery store has a gas pump. When you buy groceries you get a voucher for a few cents off gas and you can stack them to save more. I always look @ the parking lot for vouchers when I leave, and often find them!!!!

I pick up coupons off the ground all the time! Last night I found a $5 rebate form on the ground.
And I have to add that I pick up coins and Coke caps off the ground all the time 🙂
LOL. I laughed sooo stinkin’ hard at this! I knew I had created two little coupon monsters when they were playing “store” the other day, and my 4yr old boy is “ringing” up my 2yr old girls grocery cart…and once he gets done he says “do you have any coupons, ma’am?” Lol. She nodded emphatically and squealed something as she handed him a HUGE stack of papers!!! LOL I just about died! Hehe:-)

This happened to us last week. We went to Winn-Dixie to buy some bogo bbq sauce and we saw a catalina in the parking lot. It had been run over a few times but was still good and not expired. It was for $5 off order of $55. I don’t usually shop at W-D, and they didn’t have my bbq sauce, but I was able to use it at Publix, since they take competitor coupons. YAH! Most people would pick up a five dollar bill, and this represented the same thing.
