Thanks for the heads up! We are planning a carnival theme for my sons birthday party and want to do a “photo booth”. The 4×6 paper will be perfect for this. Since we are on a budget, this came at just the right time.
Don’t laugh, but the timing couldn’t be better! Tape is one of the things on my son’s birthday list. (Along with popsicle sticks, glue and paper)

Good time to turn your staples rewards into cash with the rebate. I usually try to do this with my rewards. and pay cash for my ink till find a rebate or gift card for great deal on the ink purchase, as staples applies the rewards you use against the purchase and the receipt of the new rewards. basically i feel they try to take back the rewards you were given on a previous purchase and not let you roll any without being penalized. So its better to purchase rebate items with your rewards.. when you can.
Can you explain more about the rewards?

Collin, does staples have a policy if an item is .99 and the coupon is 1.00? Previously I was told at a staples the item must be 1.00 or more….

ooh…I am in need of that size photo paper. Do I need a Staples card or something to get the rebate or is it good for everyone?
I used the scotch coupon to get the tape at WM. It was 1.22 so I got it for .22, but they gave me all kinds of problems because the coupon isn’t specific as to which scotch magic tape…the one in the picture on the coupon or the cheaper (and cuter!) colored dispenser ones. They did give it to me, but I’m wondering what Staples will do. The coupon just says it’s for one scotch magic tape. So many times the cashiers think it’s just for whatever is pictured on the coupon!! Hopefully Staples will be easier to deal with!
I’ve read somewhere that Staples changed their coupon policy to not accept manu. coupons, competitors coupons etc. I just found it on their page https://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/programs/customerservice/order_support.html#how_do_i_redeem_coupons_on_the_site

You can probably take the ad to Walmart and price match it with the coupon though!

Just fyi that says it’s how to redeem coupons on the site, it doesn’t mention stores. I used a coupon at staples about 3 days ago, so atleast as of that time, they were still accepting manufacturers coupons 🙂
I also read that policy as applying to orders placed at Staples.com – not purchases made at the store. I use coupons at Staples frequently – especially the competitors coupons like $10 off $50 from Office Depot or Office Max. But I know I can’t use those with online orders – hope that helps. I know the cashiers very at each store but thankfully mine are very happy to take any coupons! When it’s a competitor coupon they just deduct the amount from one or more of the items purchased – just make sure they don’t take it from an item you’re getting Staples rewards back because the reward will be reduced by that amount. HTH

I did this deal the last time at Staples and got 3 with no problem.
When I printed the coupons for the tape,the magic tape with dispensor as pictured above wasn’t printed in the coupons. Anyone else have that problem?
The coupon does say Scotch Magic tape and the tape with that dispenser does say it is Scotch Magic, BUT the manufacturer code on the coupon does not match the one on the colored dispensers, so the coupon will always beep. Technically, they should accept it, but it’s always going to be YMMV.
I used the same coupon a couple of weeks ago when they ran the same sale and the coupon went through without a beep.

staples would not accept the internet c oupon for the scotch tape last time on sale, and manager said no internet copons accepted
I tried to use one of these coupons at Staples to score a free roll of tape, and they would not accept it. They said they do not accept any manufactures coupons at all. I called to ask about this and the woman on the phone said that the stores do not accept any coupons outside anything that might be in their own ad. 🙁

Took my coupons to Staples today… I could only buy one! Just one! The manager had to be called over because the cashier couldn’t enter it correctly. He then told me that the coupon stated one per purchase, in which I replied, yes, but it doesn’t state one per transaction, which is different. So, he says, well, we can only accept one per person. So, I bought one, which came to $0.01 after taxes. Geesh. I think I’d rather take a chance at price matching at Wal-mart and then applying the coupon. I’ve requested, via e-mail, that they send me their coupon policy so that I may avoid future disagreements. Still, I’d rather shop elsewhere.
I had the same problem at Staples this morning. I tried to buy four of the scotch tape, and the manager said I could only use one coupon per purchase. I went ahead a bought the one, but probably won’t make the effort to drive over to Staples again.

the tape deal is good til jul 4. (at least it is tagged that way) plenty of time to get it. no need to rush to the store this week.
I was able to use this coupon at my staples in NJ. Didn’t require anything special, he just scanned it and it went through.
My store wouldn’t take it. They said that they had a problem with people coming in and getting lots of free tape, and their manager said they would no longer accept the coupon for the $1.00 sale tape– only the tape that’s pictured and costs more than $1.00. =P
It makes no sense, but whatever. I’ll just pricematch at Walmart next time I’m there.
