Yay Collin! I really think you should be on TLC’s “Extreme Couponing” just so you can show people the proper way to coupon and that they don’t need to go overboard and buy 1000 of something they will never use…..

Great article….thanks for posting. Totally agree with these ladies…..I luv this site and when i saw another sites lady on the tlc show, i saw how crazed she was and stopped following her site.Plus I will never tell my child he cant have something because I dont have a coupon, its not about that its about saving, and in my opinion this saving makes it easier financially to give my child more of what he wants, instead of filling his room with 10,000 things he could care less about!! Its a busy, dedicated amount of work to coupon and get deals and it takes time and effort so I need to follow a site that helps me “calmly”… thanks Collin ur the shiznit!!
I was at Target on my lunch break today and found Almay eyeliner on clearance for 1.41 (originally 6.50.) I didn’t have any coupons but that was a good enough deal for me to grab one in brown and black!

You may not have one nearby but I love the quality/value of towels at Stein Mart.
Truth be told-I just flat LOVE Stein Mart! I got the cutest sundress there recently.
And there’s always Marshall’s and TJ Maxx.
I got some recently at Costco that were “Charisma” brand. They are very thick and don’t shed much after the first couple washes. They are slightly oversized and about $9/ea here in VA. They also had a bath sheet size. If price is the point, then I would def look in the TJ Maxx type stores or Walmart
we dont have stein mart marshalls or a costco lol i live in ar we dont get those stores lol we have bed bath n beyond and walmart of course our walmart sucks try not to spend money there
Have you tried Kohls or JC Penneys? I also live in AR and usually buy my towels there. Kohls has a 30% code once a month and Pennys will have $10 off $25 coupons several times a year. It can make for some really good deals.
I live in AR also, and I have towels from JCPenny’s that we got for our wedding almost six years ago that still look great. They often have deals and good sales. Also, I think Kohl’s towels are pretty good quality and they also have really good sales and deals.

For this coupon, WHAT is a bathroom furnishing? Can you use it on trashcans and towels and things too?
Last year that was a hot topic because it didn’t specify. Honestly, I would say a trash can is a furnishing item. Furnishing item to me doesn’t necessarily mean the towel racks but anything to complete a bathroom.
I got a bathroom trash can today for free that was originally $9.99 after I explained to the cashier that it says furnishing item and not furniture like she insisted.
I hate when cashiers insist that couposn say something that they don’t say.
I don’t know if it is all Targets or not, but my Target has their Activia yogurt 4-packs marked down to .99! I used my coupon from last Sunday’s paper and got them free!
A suggestion-if you have more high-end fixtures/accessories in your bath, this would work nicely hidden in a deep closet/pantry for additional storage space. Certainly reasonable enough 🙂
That is an EXCELLENT idea!! My bathroom is kinda small, so hanging that kind of wall rack would not work well, but inside the closet, I would be able to use the shelves for stockpile and use the bar part for my hair dryer and extra bath sponges!!

My Target (its a regular T) didnt carry the 25 sq feet foil (just the larger sizes) so I guess it varies by store.

This is a pretty shelf, but it is very heavy and I was worried about hanging it up, so took it back, it weighs a ton.
I just got back from Target I use the $ 10 q on a basket for the bathroom i did had a issues. When she scan the Q it said item could not be found i point out that it was a basket in the Picture. I got a nice heavy basket for free.

I went to my Target here in FL and I used one last night on a fancy toilet brush for 12.99. It didn’t beep. Today I went back and tried a rug and it beeped, tried another toilet brush and it beeped but they put it through anyway. I think they leave it broad and too open when they aren’t specific in the description on the coupon. I ended up getting a shower curtain liner and two rugs..they are furnishings for a bathroom but they didn’t say anything even though they beeped. They need to be more specific if they limit it to the shelving only and say bathroom furniture item insteadt of furnishing!!
I think getting a toilet brush, rug, and curtain liner, etc is taking advantage. Serioulsy, the coupon isn’t for $10 off anything that goes in a bathroom.

I picked out 2 bathroom hooks that were less than $10 and the coupon did beep. When they looked at what I was buying they let the coupons go through.

I tried shower caddies (over $10) with the coupon and it beeped. The girl checked w/ her manager & they told me that those items were accessories and the coupon was for furnishings as in furniture. I wish I needed the shelving for something or I could have justified getting them….
I tried it on a shower curtain liner (which is a legitimate part of furnishing a bathroom) and it beeped. Cashier (who told me he’s not normally a cashier) called the manager over and he said no. He said that they had been emailed a list of acceptable items. That’s all well and good but if the coupon doesn’t say it then hows the customer to know?
Makes me wish I would have gotten a regular cashier that would have pushed it though without the managers input
I was able to use the $10/1 bathroom furnishing on a Room Essentials shower curtain on clearance for $10.48 at my Target in LR,AR. She scanned it and it said it didn’t match the product but she let it go through anyways. There were about 3 or 4 different designs that were all very modern and summer-y! Hope this helps someone!!

I was able to use my $10 bathroom furnishings coupon on a tissue box holder (priced at $14.99), and a soap dispenser (priced at $12.99) without any difficulty. The coupon did beep but the cashier put it through and it took the $10.00 off (I had to do 2 separate transactions though). Good Luck!!

I went this morning and bought a over the door or shower towel rack that was $17.99 and it beeped. Cashier looked at the coupon a few times, did not say anything and let it go thru. I wonder if the rack that was in Collin’s original message is coded to work and others aren’t…
Thanks for this post. Went and snagged one this morning. Both shelves were priced $14.99 but the bronze ones were all gone. Luckily I wanted the brushed nickle one – although I like the design of the bronze one better. Oh well. My coupon beeped too, but the cashier didn’t give it a second thought & rang it through. But it beeped on a $2 coupon I had for a shirt I was buying too that totally matched what I was buying, so who knows why things sometimes beep & other times don’t. Cool thing was I had a $5 GC from the Venus Razors I bought last week, so technically my shelf was free! 🙂 Looking forward to extra storage space in my bathroom. Yipee! 🙂
